If you have a third party firewall, eg. Norton etc. then that program will turn Windows firewall off, this is to prevent the firewalls conflicting.

So if you want to turn Windows firewall on, you have to turn any other firewall you have off

Do not turn on windows firewall if you have anotehr firewall on like mcafee,norton,avg. etc..or it will screw ya ocmp up. laso windows firewall is pretty weak its not really gonna block much. most bad programs like spy sheriff can go right through windows firewall like it wasnt even there
