@Jermesss Well I've never tried mescaline but I have been listening to Satie while on LSD and it was fucking great. Best music for acid though is Coltranes "A Love Supreme".
The paintings of the men in monster masks are by the Mexican artist Miguel Calderon. Interestingly, Calderon didn't paint them himself; he conceived a vague storyline (there are about 5 or so paintings in the series), hired a photographer to take pictures of models acting out various scenes, and then had a professional portrait painter create the paintings based on the photographs. Somewhere on Youtube is an interview with Calderon in which he discusses the works.
i wish...pretty sure they are probably one of a kind though. most likely created just for this movie....i'd definitely buy pieces like these if i could afford it. lol.
lol, my two favorite scenes in the movie for things in the background that crack me up are this one for the paintings, and when they go to the graveyard to visit the grave of royals mother i think? on the tombstone is the slogan:
