Changes is one of a few songs with progressive attitude inside 90125, cause Leave it and Owner of a lonely heart are more mainstream in comparison, but nevermind!
great stuff....i think chris squire must look back and think " wow, all that vodka made me think i could walk on stage like that" NICE OUTFIT...............WTF.....
I personally prefer Howe as guitarist, but i personally love how much Yes has to offer in variation! Everything from Fragile to 90125 and beyond. This song is just epic, and it is more modern in a way, but it has that unique yes touch to it, and everything that counts is that the band-members themselves has a good time playing the music
..................I like it! The song is good, the guitarist is great, but he's not Steve Howe!

@crc126 I reckon we got 34 beats completing the entire phrase. I haven't seen it written but my guess would be 8/8, 6/8 (first part) 8/8, 6/8, 6/8 (second part) repeat to Trevor. This is probably nonsense but I'm going with it coz it's a question that's been bothering me for about 26 years.
@srssll yes it seems to be a repeated sequence of 5 groups of 4 notes played Straight Swung Straight Swung Swung. in very fast even beats of 8+6+8+6+6 = 34 (1&2&3&4&, 1&3 2&3, 1&2&3&4&, 1&3 2&3, 1&3 2&3, where "&" is silent). Can anyone confirm/amend?
@crc126 If you can find an old copy of "The Best Of Modern Drummer: Rock", Michael Bettine (the guy who also did the transcribing for Bill Bruford's "When In Doubt, Roll)...well, on pg 76, he has 7/8, 10/8 (repeat these 2 bars 6 times), two bars of rest (7/8, 10/8), drum fill goes in 7/8, 10/8, then 3 repeats of the original 7/8,10/8 rhythm, and finally a 7/8 PLUS a 6/8 bar (the bar just before you crash and then go into 4/4) So a total of 24 bars of alternating odd time before it evens out.
@crc126 I Reckon we got 34 beats completing the phrase, thus: 8/8, 6/8 (first part) 8/8, 6/8, 6/8 (second part) repeat to Trevor. This is prboably nonsense but it is a question that's benn bothering me on and off for 26 years so I just had a go at it. It is not 15 to the bar as some nefarious tabsites will have you believe.
@sweetnothing1977 Il looks tha the Spirit of Yes is spreading... It's not bad at all! But for me YES, the best Yes, is(was) with Anderson, Howe, Wakeman, Squire & Alan White/Bill Brufford.

@skiinscubaout Saga's "World's Apart" album is an old time favorite. I saw Saga back in the mid 80's open up for the cornball Eddie Money. As soon as Saga was done...I left. @brushuk right. first time i heard yes it was this album and big generator. Rabin is great but later i would discover Howe and turn into a lifetime fan.. same way my favorite album is 'drama' tho i love jon's singing, i found out only later that he is not there... can go on forever... loved the buggles's hit "video killed the radio star" only to connect dots later... i believed XYZ existed and was going to find their LP one day... good times when u had to hunt down albums..
