Empty promises on 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

I am really stymied by his lack of leadership on this issue. He could have put this in the defense authorization bill, as they did the hate crimes issue.

Does he think he can do it more easily next year before the elections? Does he think it should wait until 2011? I see no reason to delay any further. He should have acted on his first week, saving many men and women's careers in the military, people with skills and experience to help us out in a difficult world. I'm sick of delays.

I wouldn't call it an empty promise just yet. Obama is only 9 months into his presidency. I think by the next election, his will follow up with this promise...
