Tom Ridge is a fraud. He totally dodged that question about constitutionality of real ID! I'm sure I can find at least one provision in the Bill of Rights that DENIES the federal or state gov'ts from issuing something like that. Besides, the gov't issuing a national ID card makes US slaves of the state, essentially. Who are they to issue US ID cards?? We should issue THEM an ID card with the Constitution on it (or perhaps inside a microchip embedded), so they know their powers.

I know a lot of people who say they will not accept a "Real ID" style national ID card.

Some of us have gotten rid of our DL and SScard because of the Real ID act.

As far as identity theft is concerned- Ridge's argument is RUBBISH. We already have a form of ID that established citizenship- the social security number! It is outrageous of him to suggest that anything more is necessary. When he does, he exposes himself as a puppet for the establishment. Right I don't understand how it prevents Identity Theft. Most identity theft is done over the internet right? A PC doesn't take fingerprints or a retinal scan before you can operate it.

Immigration is really quite simple- use economic dis-incentive! Fine businesses heavily if they hire illegal immigrants, do not allow them to get driver's licenses, and deport them. Don't allow them to take advantage of all the benefits of our system afforded to LEGAL citizens. Other countries use this method successfully- why aren't we?

A fence would really not be very effective at all, and would just be an expensive waste of resources.

To stop illegal immigration the USA has assigned FEMA to begin issuing a "chipped" FEDERAL ID. Because the USA can not stop illegal employment the USA will require all retail purchases be validated using the new FEDERAL ID. In this way the USA can effectively locate more illegal aliens.
