Plus Gwen/Arthur has zero chemistry, they were just... kind of thrown together. JUST my opnion though.

That was a sweet scene! Arthur cares for Merlin really, but he'd most certainly be the last person to admit it... well maybe nopt seeing as he just did sort of... but anyhow it was a sweet moment.

@vickkyandme Not sure what you're talking about. The legend is that Arthur's wife has an adulterous affair with another man, and then runs off with him. Remember Lancelot? That's the legend. Not much of a true love. As for the Arthur/Merlin angle, the writers are clearly trying to please all the fans. Otherwise we wouldn't have the many many gratuitous scenes of Arthur and Merlin and discussions about pants and peeing and the rest. Everybody deserves to take from the show what they want.

@vickkyandme I swear I saw it too, and I'm an Arwen fan! Can't remember properly but their are like 4 scenes were it would have been appropriated if Merthur kissed. The way they look at each other; understanding/angst --> Arwen didn't share that in 4x12-13 & it pisses me off. The Arwen reunion was crappy (to me) & I would rather waited for next season to have a fair reunion & wedding than have what we had & leave the air time for Merthur's friendship to blossom & Tristan to become a trusted ally

@vickkyandme Give it a rest already. Arthur and Merlin are not gay men and have never been portrayed as such. Arthur's true love is Guinevere. Merlin is a trusted friend, advisor and wizard extraordinaire. Try not to let your fantasy get in the way of the legend.
