thanks for this, very interesting, i also thought that the mix of stones was too motley to have the different elements sift according to size and weight, althought the quartz and bedrock are really good. yeah going through all the cracks in the bedrock with a siphon sounds like a very good bet, some even use a mask and some tweezers :D i dunno i havent done any prospecting, just reading up about gold lines in the river and so on. very fun to hunt.
I got tired of breaking my back digging and sifting for very little gold so I ordered a AT GOLD by Garrett it will detect gold very easily. I live in Arizona I actually live in the same town as Propanner he finds some nice stuff.

Most people do not find gold the first trip out I record my videos in real life unlike 99% of the other guys on here bring gold out to the field place it in spots and pretend to find it.
@robmob1 ....I on the other hand give you props for showing us what you filmed, its not about the gold, its about the freedom and the adventure and the hunt and if there's any gold found at the end of that rainbow then all the better .....good job Rob !!
also best to keep your pan fully submersed underwater while ur panning, it keeps all the material completely in float, and you can process each pan much faster.
ur better off getting rid of that green "classifier", you may be losing some fines because it will stick to the inside, and there arent enough holes. Either pan without it or make your own classifier using metal cloth from the hardware store. Its also cheap and you can chose 1/2", 1/4" etc...hth. nice vid. Also you can get a small hand shovel or make a little "can shovel" (Like detectorists use, but without perforations) to scoop out the stuff close to the bedrock.
'cows tongues and bedrock's pitching'. now that gold's over 1500, our gov decided now's not a good time for small scale miners to use stream water for sluices and such. how's that for usin' your noggin' to prevent citizen self-reliance.
Watch YouTube videos from propanner. He tells you what to look for and how to get it ALL out. You're on the right track though, just need to hone your skills.
In a hole like what you are working in, most of the gold will be in the last 1% bottom of the crack / channel of the bedrock. You need something else besides a shovel to get to it, some type of siphon device. Also, clean out all those beautiful vertical cracks in that bedrock with tiny picks or screwdrivers - gold loves to hide there too.
Nice video. I would dig that hole even more in order to reach the bed rock. Perhaps use a gold sucker and siphon the material right into a bucket. Also try to keep your strainer submerge while you are shaking it. Keep up the good work.

Scrape the moss off the bedrock and sweep the dirt into your pan and wash it and the moss. I found color doing that one time.

where do you get that bowl thing to sort out the dirt?

This vid reminds me of my first time panning. I found nothing but it was pretty relaxing just sifting through some dirt. Keep them coming.

Keep on digging.......you have the right attitude for prospecting an
yer young enough to put in the time it takes out in the field.
Only 2 % of the gold has been taken so there's a bit to be found :)
Take care.
