It's only discouraging to you, because you are taking it that way. Respect her wishes, it is her home, but never give up on your playing because of someone else. Ask for permission to go to the park, friend's house, school concert hall, better yet go outside and play on your patio, porch, deck or backyard, it feels great to play music outdoors. By going outside you might even be inspired to write a few songs of your own and compose them. Good luck, and God bless.
I love how their styles don't collide. I saw one duet at my college, with a world renown musician and another guitarist that was also really good, but they collided, and it really hurt the performance, but alone they were great.
Good to hear you play and sing Lisa. You're lessons are awesome. I like this song - it kind of brings to mind the music of Tanita Tikaram, it has that moody flavor. Anyway, you both sound great and both good teachers as well, so you disprove that old saying, ~Those that can, do and those that can't teach~ that is now completely out the window cause from what I've head all you Guitar Tricks teachers and blow it away.
my mom asks me not to practice when she is at home.does this sound like she is being a bit discouraging?
