pretty cool tune.personally i think that the band was at it`s peak around " all those wasted years" period. No studio record can do justice for live band like hanoi
Th00nZella So this song was produced by Johnny Thunders? I can understand why it sounds good now. Maybe i'm just the only one think that Bob EZrin ruined Hanoi Rocks
@squirtkiller No producer can ruin a band, imo Two Steps is an excellent album. He also did awesome work with the Alice Cooper band. Nowdays hes totally shit tho xD
I do think Two Steps is a good one, but it could have been better with cleaner sound. IMO the sound in Back to Mystery City is more powerful and cleaner. There were also some good songs that ended up being out take or B side or bonus like Shakes, Wiling to Cross the Ocean, Oil and Gasoline, Two Steps...I don't know it's the band's decision or else but i think the producer has to bring best songs into the official release. I also heard that Bob did a poor job with Jane's Addiction or something:D
@squirtkiller Well Back to Mystery City is my own personal favorite also, but Two Steps is as good as it is with the tracks. Ofcourse the sound could of been cleaner. I mean which song you would of replaced? Everyone seems to hate Boiler, but personally I love it :P
@Th00nZella Yeah i love Boiler too, but it could become a Bside or bonus song, we still can listen to it. IMO Cutting Coner is the same though it's a cool song too. We don't have to replace much 'cause there were just 10 songs in the studio version, just add more. The re-release version even added songs from All Those Wasted Years and there were 18 songs totally if i remember well.
hey Th00Zella, whats the story behind this and the songs after it on Lean On me? I've always wondered if they were actual Hanoi demos, when they were recorded etc. I bought this album in '93 and the liner notes are almost all in japanese.
I love the songs though and HR was my favorite band at the time.
@totalstranga Demos indeed. Produced by Johnny Thunders. Most of these songs were recorded in 85 except for Menaced by Nightingales that was supposed to be released on Two Steps From The Move, but didnt end up on the record.
