At 24:55 It is a good thing that Kirk's lame distraction actually worked as the gangsters even went so far as to stumble in to his quarters because of it, I guess. It was pretty funny anyway.

When Kirk ordered the Enterprise to fire its phasers on the men fighting in the street, how convenient that the ship did not happen to be on the other side of the planet in its orbit!!
You ever hear of geo-synchronous orbit? Its when something orbits a world at the same speed the world is turning, even though its moving thru space it remains in the same spot in the sky.
Shatner's overacting during the card game..-smiles- Best stuff ever. Spock looks good in that blazer and fedora! Kirk was made to be a mob boss...A silly one but a good one...And the kid never got his cut of the deal...

because Oxmyx and everyone else already know that Kirk and his crew came in a starship like the USS Horizon, which visited their planet about 100 years ago. Spock does not need to hide his ears because they already know he is an alien.
The episodes where Spock hides his ears is when they have transported to a planet with a primitive civilization that has not yet achieved warp drive, which would then allow them to be familiar with aliens like Spock.
It still kind of bugs me that in some these episodes the aliens look exactly like humans. I know their budget was low, but they could have painted their faces purple or something! Nya, see, nya!
Look for Vic Tayback as Krako the ruthless gangster boss in this classic episode of Star Trek from 1968 called... A Piece of the Action. Mr. Tayback will be remembered for his great role as Mel the diner owner / cook in the classic tv series Alice from 1974-85. Great episode.
What's driving me crazy is that there was another gangster-style episode ...possibly return of the archons, but...the point is, I've seen kirk and spock try to imitate slang before on TOS. What episode was it..?
This is the one where you really see Spock is livin' large. He uses that pinch to squeeze out four count 'em four people; looks like Superfly cubed in a suit; gets to do more Earth slang than you me and our parents; AND ranks on Kirk's driving. I'd be putting my feet up on a desk too if I'm Spock in this ep.

Definitely one of my favorite episodes! Too bad McCoy didn't get to act all gangster-like. But good god.....does Spock look sooo hot!!! It's almost painful watching him....he is so irresistible! *faints*

because Oxmyx and everyone else already know that Kirk and his crew came in a starship like the USS Horizon, which visited their planet about 100 years ago. Spock does not need to hide his ears because they already know he is an alien.
The episodes where Spock hides his ears is when they have transported to a planet with a primitive civilization that has not yet achieved warp drive, which would then allow them to be familiar with aliens like Spock.
It;s all about the Prime Directive.

It still kind of bugs me that in some these episodes the aliens look exactly like humans. I know their budget was low, but they could have painted their faces purple or something! Nya, see, nya!

Look for Vic Tayback as Krako the ruthless gangster boss in this classic episode of Star Trek from 1968 called... A Piece of the Action. Mr. Tayback will be remembered for his great role as Mel the diner owner / cook in the classic tv series Alice from 1974-85. Great episode.

GREAT episode.
This is the one where you really see Spock is livin' large. He uses that pinch to squeeze out four count 'em four people; looks like Superfly cubed in a suit; gets to do more Earth slang than you me and our parents; AND ranks on Kirk's driving. I'd be putting my feet up on a desk too if I'm Spock in this ep.

Hell isn't fine. It is eternal damnation in the lake of fire. Forever trapped in there is worse than any nightmare ever known. Everlasting burning, shrieking, scorching hot temperatures hotter than the sun. No hope of escape for this immortal punishment for the unsaved and unbelievers.
