HeLLo Stuart li, and friends! Do you know whom i am? i am denny, i go to your church (stuart's church). jackie's little brother... and um... this video reminds me of my teacher, everyday when she comes back from the hoagie place. umm.. Subways, she sees a homeless person. my teacher always gives him half of her sandwich or hoagie. They are such good friends, that they know each other's names! when i was little, i never knew why there were people living on the streets, now i know, and i can help!
Basically I wanted to show that homeless people aren't all scary. For some, it's not really their fault--their family abandoned them at a young age, health issues have taken away job opportunities. If I see one, I greet them/give'em food--show them that I do care for them, and most importantly, that God cares for 'em. It was & still is hard to get over the common mindset that homeless people are scary, but after this project, my eyes have really been opened to the helpless state of these people.
The reason I asked the question was because it seemed to me that your video didn't really do much to actually humanize people who are homeless. And I mean, really, thats why its so easy for us to either ignore them, be "frightened" of them, or give them a dollar and be on our way feeling good about ourselves, isn't it? I just hope you and your friend didn't walk away from this only to add another story and few points to the "I'm a good Christian" repertoire that some people like to keep...
