Upon a closer look, it appears that Bosko is the one atop Admira. Either way, the same end result. They wanted to die together, forever linked by their love; in mind, body, spirit & soul. If only all love between 2 people could be so beautiful.
You see LOVE is the most precious thing you have in any lifeform or lifetime, it asks for alot of sacrifice and paitence and we my friend are greedy ,we want to get the most precious thing without effort ,for free ,thats why we are away from it
I saw this on TV when it happened. The image, Admira's determination and final embrace of Bosko minutes before dying herself, still haunts me. I'm certain the murderers were felt pretty mighty. But I'm equally sure that Admira's last act was a "screw you" to them. You may kill the flesh, but not the spirit nor the love.
@EyeRuinMe How very sad & moving. I'm sure Admira was not thinking anything at all about her murderers or a 'screw you' attitude prior to death. Her heart, mind & soul was purely & fully enveloped by her love for Bosko. Her triumph in lying on him while dying speaks clearly for itself. Yes, they did kill the flesh. But failed totally in snuffing out their love & spirit that surpassed all else in life.
Admira and Boska both symbolise the normality of citizens and human relationship, to which how it can be altered and change by the antithesis of war and ethnic cleansing. A sad Romeo and Juliette connotation, but it represents how normal people, even children, can have their innocence taken away through systematic rape, murder, and the diversion of religion
Some day, the truth about the ugly war in Yugoslavia will come out.
It was not "Serbs" against "Muslims", or "Muslims" against "Croats". It was a rampage of bloodthirsty, viscious, thugs who got to live out their "fifteen minutes of fame" and their horror-induced fantasies. And, yes, they were Muslim, Croat and Serb alike.
The rest of us who sought peace and understanding were the losers. Big time.
Did we learn anything? We sure did. But, did THEY?
My wife and I travelled from Scotland in 2003 to visit Bosko and Admira's grave in the Lion (Lav) Cemetery in Sarajevo Moja:
"Did you think that love would be your shield, foolish Romeo,
Now love lies rotting in a field, in a field near Sarajevo.
Romeo has your star set, where are you Romeo,
Lieing with your Juliet in a field near Sarajevo"
Download or try and find the song: Romeo and Juliet in Sarajevo by Eric Bogle from Scotland.
God bless my beautiful Bosnia

How many people must die before we realise that god is not the answer?

Unfortunately, we still have to put up with wars, ignorance and prejudice.
No matter how I try to find the reason why we are so irrational, I can't find an answer.
Probably it's genetic.
By the way, the song is amazing, who is it by?

Irrationality comes from emotions. Emotions is what makes us human. Our gift, and curse.

Not sure which channel. Since I didn't have cable (poor student) it was probably one of the three networks (ABC, CBS, NBC).
