you can change the homescreen somewhat. you can put the icons on the side instead across the top. makes the homescreen standout better. that's not all either.
i have this phone, after 6 months it gets laggy, and me and a couple of other people have been noticing dust under the screen (to the point where you cant read the text). and another is i experience dropped calls 24/7, idk if its with AT&T or this phone.I cannot wait to get my iphone 4 upgrade in July.
Is this a type of phone that you need to put a chip on it to work? Also can you change the language of the UI? Great review! - but I kinda didn't see those aspects covered.
I ended up getting it. I love it. I was kind of spoiled with the palm pre for a minute, but I had to quit my sprint service but I hate their service. This accommodated. I like the mouse feature too :D
hey hockey... I made my decision. I picked the nokia, BUT my company then told me they would not support the Symbian OS. So then I said F-it... I'll get the iPhone and pay for it myself haha. Dont have it yet, but will soon! I just decided the Jack was just too business for me. good luck in your decision!
Yes, I actually just got off a chat with AT&T and the lady told me you could use it, but if you hit somewhre w/o wi-fi you get charged so make sure to disable that. You can also use wi-fi w/o data plan for the incite and HTC Fuze
you can use Wifi for free with absolutely ANY device! WiFi is just a wireless connection to a router, so it's the same as hooking your phone up to a modem or home router. Wifi is free on ANY phone, ANY laptop, and ANY capable device!
If you buy it from AT&T, no special data plan required. But there is a huge software difference. I paid for mine unlocked E71 $666 a year ago and it worth every penny (E71, not E71x).
I got unlimited AT&T data plan for $15. There is no difference between $15 data for regular phones and $30 for smartphones. You just pay more.
My friend just told me, his E71x drops incoming international calls for some reason.
I don't know if it is weird, but you do need a data plan to use the wireless cellular functions. You may need the data plan added to get the full discounted price, but you may also be able to pay the full $299.99 and skip the data plan. You could use the WiFi radio and use it for text messaging, but I did not personally try this since I have a PDA data plan and need it for what I do.

True, but it doesn't support this from the standby/home screen like it works on the E71.

I agree though, the lack of customization is a bit disappointing.

Is it possible to use WiFi (and not be charged ;-)) without opting for a data plan??
I'm getting conflicting reports on that !

With this phone do you need one of those weird data plans like the iphone?

But does it require a data plan like the iphone?
Keilz 2 years ago
You should be able to buy it and use it without a data plan. I can fully use it without my SIM card installed.
