CMLI's VOices in Harmony is a competition for High School Choirs.. First, there's an elimination where you get to pick your own piece.. and if your choir gets in the finals, which is on nov. 29~ haha~ you have to compete with other schools with the Contest Piece the Contest is giving... THis year, it's bagbagto... and it's hard.. XD

Our university chorale group is already singing this amazing chorale piece by no less than Sir Nilo Alcalla II.

Hehehe, di nalalayu interpretation namin dito including the triplets and bitonal parts. The kulintang-effect is really visible.

sharp ang pitch ng unang pasok pero nakabawi agad, balik agad sa f ang second tenors.. galing talaga ng madz.. to note, mahirap na gawin ang pagbalik sa tamang pitch once sharped na unless may tuning fork ibang members or may skilled perfect pitched members, kaya BOW tlaga ako sa Madz.. galing naman talaga..

i think originally puro mga college of music students ang members (way back during their formative years as a group. tapos nag-evolve na lang, may mga members na dating members ng mga madz et al choirs (these are choirs na handled by members, trainees and alumni of the madz). may mga invited from other choral group na super exceptional ang singing capacity (i know of one former alto who was originally from PNU Chorale).

The Philippine Madrigal Singers is not exclusive to UP students and alumni. They have members from other universities although it's really rare that they hold auditions. You have to watch for it, and I suggest you inquire at the UP College of Music. - ella of UPLBCE

congratulations to the philippine madrigal singers for winning the 2007 european grand prix for choral singing. their second EGP (one in 1997), the best among the best choirs (defeating 4 others) including the children's choir vesna (also trying to get their second EGP but failed). filipino choirs are the best! mabuhay ang pilipinas!
