  • I loved this video, thanks!

  • cav ... is THE ... asshole !!!

  • Apologies at 44 seconds on Eurosport slow mo coverage.....1min 23 sec clip

  • @hmsgenoa Are we talking about this video? And if not, please provide a link or some directions to this Eurosport slow mo coverage at 0:44, because at 1:23 on this video, I'm still seeing what the judges (and most everyone else) saw.

  • I think most of you want to watch this again. Closely. At 44 seconds, and 1.06, you can see quite clearly, its ABUNDANTLY apparent that Haussler makes an exaggerated barging motion with his head and right shoulder, out of synch with the regular movements prior to the moment Cavendish is KNOCKED off balance.Had Haussler merely held firm they would likely have remained upright. Haussler is also converging on Ciolek from the left. He is to blame equally if not more so.

  • @hmsgenoa So it's perfectly OK that Cav went flying across a lane of traffic, across Ciolek's front wheel, headed directly for Haussler then? Haussler was totally out of line to brace himself for impact? Good thing you weren't one of the judges. I'd like to see a copy of the rulebook your local cycling federation uses.

And as for the spitting incident, I guess Haussler deserved being spat upon for not falling down more cooperatively?

  • @hmsgenoa

    spot on!

  • harsh.

  • It's his unapologetic attitude that gets me. Then again, what do you expect from a guy who feels compelled to write an autobiography in his mid-twenties.

  • cavendish is stupid and arrogant. baaah never want to see cavendish on a bike. worse brtih

  • With all due respect, Mark Cavendish is a great sprinter, very talented...but as everyone here pointed out, Mark is a young arrogant twat. I personally wouldn't like to see him in any tour. People have opinions so deal with it.

  • He is from the track. And as I've been told about track racing it's...Win, Crash, or DQ. It may not be right but it's one of those unwritten rules like baseball has. I guess that's just how he rolls. I think he was just fighting it out and got caught up in it. He should have held his line.

  • I think you guys need to get the rules of your sport clear. Don't blame Cavendish, blame yourselves

  • @Crapulency There are rules. Cav broke 'em. That's why he got relegated and fined.

  • At least, Cavendish should have been kicked out of the tour.

He is a young talented rider, but his arrogant (bruta bruta) attitude makes him one of the top ass holes of professional cycling.

  • Always wear a helmet, kids

  • Totally agree with cyberrider99. This asshole must be banned from pro-cycling and come on Cav fans: stop saying bull***!

  • hei hat jemand Lust mit mir zu chatten bin wieder Einsam und gelangweilt

  • He sprints like Graeme Brown . Dangerous

  • This guy loves to open he mouth, and point out some one mistake .When he’s at fault he dose not want to hear it .

  • Cavendish is such a dirty cockwhore who endangers the other riders once more with unfair moves to the side - he should be banned from pro-cycling ... that s one of the reason he s absolutely not like by other riders - he s just simply an arrogant asshole who try to take his wins on the costs of others !!!!

  • Simple error, he was keeping his distance from the center line and failed to appreciate that it moved to the left! Doh! Would have got away with it if Haussler had done the same, but he held his line.

  • @JadePrism Someone has probably already pointed this out, but there was no center line by the right hand (our left) barriers where he hit the front (@1:13) and he clearly by the barriers at that point and in middle of the road by the end. Actual racing aside, his rude gestures and spitting incidents don't help him win friends with officials or other cyclists. Does any of this matter? Yes, because he's going to have to meet up with all these guys again and again...

  • Cav is way wrong here! Rules clearly broke. He should have been fined some francs as well. Thats downright dangerous riding.

  • Ok people, it is good hanging it all on Cav but at the end of the day (literally & figuratively) isn't the objective, to be the first over the line, no matter what it take??? Given the speeds that they are traveling, how much margin for error do you really think there is?? Because I know non of you are this good other wise you would be there racing and not watching the highlights on YouTube. However that all said Cav is nothing without Mark Renshaw.

    GO MARK,

  • @2MOG - It can clearly, but super clearly be seen he looks to the left. Even from aerial view his sprinting line he aggressively swerves to the left. C'mmon lets not be naive, a cyclist of such caliber knows that 50 to 80 meters from the end you must keep that line.

You must look at the aerial video clip, it can be clearly seen how he hits the cyclist and the guy does not hesitates to elbow him back. It was about time as this is not the first time Cav does such cheap cycling moves.

  • @2MOG Um, I would guess some of us either are out racing or have been. Tour de Suisse is not the only race in the world. Although we might not be as fast (who is?) there are rules about things like riding in a relatively straight line in the finale, rules about doping, rules about using hidden motors and so on, so to answer your question ("...no matter what it take???"), the answer is no.

  • @2MOG Oh yeah, and it was Petacchi who crossed the line first. I guess we're forgetting here that Cav's crash didn't win him the race, it put a few people in the hospital rather, and has ultimately caused him to drop out. Maybe he'll finally get his season together in time for Le Tour.

  • It was Cav's fault this time I don't think anyone's arguing but the reason everyone hates him (this is for newbies) is because he's actually good at sprinting.

  • Hate Cavendish.. He has to learn the basics of a sprint, someone give him a beginners class or something, this is hopeless, did it to Hushovd last year as well in the tour

  • das bestätigt mal wieder alles: cavendish ist n arsch...

  • Clearly the majority of people viewing this vid come for the crash. Not your analysis, nerds.

  • Uh your an idiot if you think its not cavendishs fault. He clearly left his line and swung into everyone. If you know anything about racing you would know that, in addition hes a giant douche, and a turd sandwich and deserves it.

  • wat u didnt see was the cyclist that flew out into the crowd and blew up, killing many innocent bystanders... well thats it for FOX news until tomorrow's morning news at 6, Have a good night.

  • @shadowace421 Totally missed that. Can you tell me the exact time?

  • @veloboy lmao

  • @shadowace421 wait a minute. what? no exploding cycling?? OK, you got me there. now no one can say that "no one has ever thought of an athlete exploding in a crowd of spectators (as an act of terrorism)," because there was this YouTube user named shadowace421 back in June 2010 who first came up with the idea...

  • Ok. I saw that on versus and they're fining and penalizing Mark for that crash. First, it was Haussler's fault... watch carefully. Secondly, there is no need to fine anybody for that. That was just a routine sprint gone bad. Docking 30 sec, 25 pts. and 200 francs ($178) for that is bull crap. Yeah I said it. I declare a bull crap on the officials.

  • Ouch!!

  • Someone needs to push Cav off of one of the many decents in the the tour. WTF.

  • Cav is an arrogant little shit. I don't care how fast he is, I'll cheer for the Gentleman Sprinter, any day.

  • Go Cavendish, the best sprinter

  • @loismari The fastest, maybe yes, but reminiscent of Djamolidine Abdoujaparov who also had trouble riding in a straight line during the last 200 m of many races.

  • you are right about Abdoujaparov. I can't remember the number of spills he caused or the square meters of skin he caused others to loose, to say nothing about himself. When I was studying in UC Santa Barbara there was a summer rugby league that played there. They had a saying that it took leather balls to play rugby, a bumper sticker I had on my car for many years. The same thing can be said of sprinters. Not for the feint of heart, that's for sure.

  • @andyfarrand I'm certainly not questioning their having balls. I've looked at several photo galleries (VN, CN, Pez, etc) of this finish and several vids of it on YouTube, and the one thing that is clear is that the finish line is their ONLY goal and staying upright hasn't entered their minds until they are on the ground. I imagine if these guys were on a roller coaster ride, they wouldn't notice if it was moving.

Are cyclists balls leather though? Maybe carbon fibre?

  • @veloboy I mean the best sprinter nowadays :) but Abduyaparov or Cipollini were incredible too. I agree

  • Same here: I like Cav, but now that he isn't dominating he's getting reckless.

I think HH might have taken the stage; shitty. Looks like he took a derailleur to the face. I hope he's back to start the tour.

  • As a cav fan, I have to say... It's Cav's fault.

There's no way it can be excused, that was a blatent deviation of sprinting line.

However, he didn't set out to cause a crash, anyone who thinks that is stupid.

  • @doddy13 Maybe just a little bumping of shoulders, right? His wheel folded over and snapped back into place. I'm a bit behind in my technology, but does carbon fibre do that?! There's a crazy photo of it on PezCyclingNews

  • haussler finally overcomes injury and is back in form and cav screws him up. what a bastard. his arrogant sprinting probably cost haussler a season.

  • cav did it.....go farrar

  • fuck u CAV

  • cav is a dirty rider. he cant win without george anyway..........pack filler if you ask me

  • Comment removed

  • @Charlienmeg would you feel safe riding against any one who falls THAT far off his line in a sprint (assuming you'd even find your self at the front!)? no way!!! w/ george last year he racked up the wins- this year not so much... a lot of last minute crashes though. Maybe when greipel is tearing through the tour next year hushovd will have a REAL rider to compete with!!! as for "pack filler my arse" no thank you, do it your self.

  • Comment removed

  • @Charlienmeg lol i never said he was slow, but yes, pack filler!! when cav attacks with 50 k to go (or becomes lead break-filler!!) and still hits the podium ill buy you a coffee. sound fair?

  • Comment removed

  • @Charlienmeg -yeah, dont sprinters win the points jersey?? you owe me a coffee!!!

boonen green jersey, belgian champ, world champ, paris roubaix.... no lead out.

greipel tour down under points and overall plus four stages (not all flat ones either) w/o a lead out for the most part........ anyway i really dont care about this anymore, his tactics are questionable (for a great rider anyway) and as long as he sits in the pack all day hes pack filler

  • Comment removed

  • @kloeser He proved this totally wrong in the Tour de France this year. Cav does have a great team, without a doubt, but he is also the fastest cyclist in the world.

  • for all of you taht have neveall that say that cavendish has all the fault are worng seems that youve never seen an sprint, they use that tactic, and in the viseo you can see that the movement of maxman strarts earlier and he stops when see himself too close to heinrich if you want to see another example of using the body as a protection or to make an space see how juan jose haedo won in the dauphine libere he pushed the other sprinter to the barrier

  • @angeluzvan

Stop talking shit dude. You are clearly the one who don´t know the rules. Cav goes way out of his line which is not permitted... hint this is why he gets the penalty and fine. Cav is a complete idiot, and deserves the penalty.

  • it's about time someone teaches Cav a lesson, who steps up?

  • 33 comments with only 340 viewers.

1 in 10 viewers comment thats got to be a youtube record

  • Cavendish got a 30 second penaulty, Henrich got a report from the team doctor advising him to pull out when he was what, 10 seconds off 1st ? hardly fair cavendish should be fined !!! he was going to loose and could hack it

  • HH is out of Tour de Suisse....

  • Very sad - Cavendish...can and does move during sprinting it appears Cavendish crashed/disbalanced - brought down Hausler...I'd be mightily rammed off at MC if I was Hausler !!!!!!

  • @yenrodtheoriginal there's a photo on PezCyclingNews that shows Cav's wheel folded over. He probably wouldn't have gone down otherwise, just bumping shoulders...

  • Domino

  • Fuck Cavendish? Fuck you!

  • @CMac1980z

It´s Cavendish fault. He thinks he´s god

  • @nenbasis He is a god. But it was his fault

  • Fuck Cavendish!!

  • oh god! poor ca

  • wouldn't want to be cav right now. clearly his fault and he's got to feel pretty bad taking haussler out right after HH finally started his season with a sprint win the day before. if someone did that to me in a sprint...

  • YIKES! poor haussler, hope he's not injured yet again...

  • Neither Cavendish nor Haussler saw what was coming: they both had their heads down. Would have probably been 1-2 respectively.

  • @pignonefisso But Hausler was holding his line, Cav was riding into him, Cav's fault no doubt.

  • @pignonefisso Not allowed to change your line in a sprint.

  • @Jur0 4sure...cav was too damaged

  • After falling a rider got hit in the face with a flying tire, this was a terrible crash. Hope everyones is alright.

  • Cav is once again showing he is dangerous and has no conideration for his competitors or the rules. It's not the first time and as long as it doesen't carry any major penalties I'm sure we'll see it again from him this season.

  • fail

  • Just yesterday I thought, he never crashes, now he is dangerous, he may be losing the plot in the 3rd act.

  • It is more than Cavendish "drifting off his line." He moves across the front of the sprint, cutting off Cioleck and crashes into Haussler. Here's the UCI rule "Riders shall be strictly forbidden to deviate from the lane they selected when launching into the sprint and, in so doing, endangering others."

  • Haussler zen helmke zat ook blijkbaar maar half vast... en Cav...tja als dat niet van uw lijntje afwijken is wet ik het ook niet meer ;)

  • @mariovandenbogaert I need to learn Dutch (or Flemish?). Google translate: Haussler Zen Helmke was also apparently only half fixed ... and Cav ... well if that does not deviate from your line is I no longer law;)

  • definitely Cav's fault!

  • It was Cav's fault but no one causes crashes deliberatley. He drifts of his line and whereas it would normally be okay in this situation but in this instance he just clips Cioleck's wheel.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if they kicked Cavendish off the race for this particular stunt.

  • Cav is the main guilty one, he just doesn't keep his line. Haussler isn't innocent either. Too bad for riders like Ciolek who crashed really bad and didn't do anything wrong.

  • Field sprints suck!!! Better to win a bike race in a break! You have to have balls the size of grapefruits to be a field sprinter.

BTW, I hope everybody who crashed is OK.

Train hard so you can get into breaks and avoid field sprints altogether.

  • Cav was all over the place dive bombing those who would overtake, his front wheel folded...another front wheel issue. What wheels are they using? He hook Hausler then his wheel turned and Caved in.

  • @MustardMunkey Yeah, what the hell kind of wheel or material folds like origami paper, then snaps back into place like a wet "rat tail" in a locker room towel fight??

I'll have neither that brand of wheel nor whatever material it is made out of, thank you very much!

  • @veloboy The wheels are carbon fiber, and it didn't snap back into place, it crushed and that was it.

  • of course! Cav touched Haussler with wheel and than handlebar

  • It's Cavendish the reponsable ( apologies for my english ... )

  • Cav is a fucking cunt!!!

  • It is really necessary to be so obscene. Hufemeve did the same for a reason that is hard to fathom. No one who has fallen at speed, regardless of injuries sustained, can think that someone would cause an accident that could cause the end of his or others' careers. That's just plain nuts. But, please stop the rude remarks.

  • It was apparently caused by Cavendish, or am I wrong?

  • Petacchi avrebbe preferito vincere meglio: sulla linea lottavano Cav e Haussler, e sembrerebbe che il 1° abbia DELIBERATAMENTE tagliato la strada al 2°, dalle immagini.

  • @enzofabioarcangeli Sono assolutamente d'accordo! ;-)

Google translate: "Petacchi would prefer to win rather, on line Cav fought and Haussler, and it would seem that 1 has deliberately cut the road on the 2nd, from images."
