ouuu.... hate the clapping form the people... they killing the music if they are doin this during the live singing... singing is good, but that clap, clap, clap is disgusting (that is have to be at end)
Brilliant..what extreme talent and musical craftsmanship for a small group of young folks. If we had a lot more with the heart that these youths exemplify, then we'd be on our way to what and where we want the world to be....

WOW! Thank you so much for this, absolutely amazing. I love the Palbasha Siddiq/Garry Schyman version. This one made me cry, and it takes a lot to make me cry these days. Incredible that 12-14 yr olds can perform this well. Superb work from the kids and the tutors, I can't thank you enough.
The same stream of life dat runs through my veins night and day runs through da world n dances in rhythmic measures.
It is da same life dat shoots in joy through da dust of da earth in numberless blades of grass and breaks into tumultuous waves of leaves and flowers.
It is da same life dat is rocked in da ocean-cradle of birth and of death, in ebb and in flow.
I feel my limbs r made glorious by da touch of dis world of life. n my pride is 4m da life-throb of ages dancing in my blood dis moment.

@michfdias, ummm? I'm just passing by .. don't know any of those in the video. But I must say, it's a great rendition ... they should perform this on the International stage .. they're great!
Amazing... being a bengali person myself I have to say the singers and choir did a such an excellent job. The best pronunciation I ever heard from a non bengali!!!!!
this song "Praan" (life / soul), was written by the bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), who was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913. He is also the writer of the national anthems of Bangladesh & India. His 150th birthday was celebrated jointly in Bangladesh & India on 7th may 2011.
@hrishij, Thanks! I was going to write some information for non-Bengali spoken fan of this song, but you have already done this. Just to add some more detail,
This song is direct adoption of the poem "Praan" (Life/Soul) by Tagore, a part of the famous book "Geetanjoli" (Tribute to Music), which is available in English and was key factor of his Nobel Prize winning. But Rabindranath Tagore was the greatest Musician, Composer, Artist, Novelist, Story Writer and educator of all time.
the first soloist sounded so similar to the woman who sang for Gary Schyman! she made my ears go all tingly in that awesome way that they do when they ear good music :D
What a beautiful rendition of a beautiful song! As an educator and musician, it is truly inspiring to see such a talented group of children! Everyone involved should be very proud of this performance (and all of the work they surely put in beforehand!).
