I have always had a keen interest in Jean claude. Thanx for that excellent analysis SpeedPsyche, i read all your posts here and thought that you might be a film critic or of "professional" value to the movie industry. Well, i didnt quite realise the magnitude of your background. Respect to you.
i love how van damme never gives up on movies. even if they go strate to dvd..he kinda just shrugs it of and produce another one..like he will not give up untill he gets back into cinema!!! i love that me in people..
OH! so he makes love with them for real o.O , wonderful, really really lucky specially with Alona shaw the one in double impact movie, man what a scene....
there is not much left from the old school MA stars.hollywood is dead boring without this genre.only 2 stars are left/JCVD and JET LI.van damme made several good STRAIGHT TO DVD movies and i must say he is doing good.comparing to the hollywood movies they are just more interesting.the only time i go to the big theatres is if a JET LI movie is on.hollywood is a joke.
Tony Jaa is great. And Jet Li / Jackie Chan etc are still busy so I gotta disagree. It's not the lack of stars, it's the lack of simple movies nowadays like in the old days.
Great action star. I really still like his films also the new ones.
In this reportage he mentioned DOUBLE TEAM AND MAXIMUM RISK as great films.
They were absolutely bad films with great mnartial arts fights in them. His last 3 or 4 films before he had a break down on cocaine were bad and ended his fame.
Only Death is final. Life is a continum which does not necessarily march perpetually straight upward, but has its highs and low swings. Productive living is always in movement - you'll see Van Damme swing back. Check The Shepherd, Border Patrol. He is invigorated, re-energized and gifted in his intense fight scenes and splendid in his acting. Like in a real fight match, people go down but get back up to win!
Magnificently galvanizing glimpse into the creative mind/thoughts of Van Damme. In a masterful display of humble wit, Van Damme smoothly reveals history behind some of his best films in rich detail amplified by select video clips portraying his inspired reflections. While we have all been treated to his karate skills, we are treated here to his cultivated side and visionary goals for himself, the viewer and his future films in carrying creative value. A Must See! Dr. R. Witmer Sport Specialist
Problem is not that I have too much time - its that you don't appear to have enough time to know the depth of Van Damme's talent. You could get up to speed by checking out some detail under my Biography on Van Damme as posted on fandamme net (upper left)

There was a time, back in his prime, when he was the best!!!
Had he competed in this 30's, he would have destroyed most of the fighters at that time.

What are you talking about? You have to much time on your hands with the way you over analyze and over estimate Van Damme's talents.
