people aren't going to like this but these guys were my "beatles". i hung on everything they did as a kid and still love this stuff today. it's sad that david's ass migrated to the top of his neck. he and tina were really cohesive and then he started trying to tell her how to play the bass lines, then he started trying to push her out of the band. the first four albums and the name of this band is talking heads will always be in my play list. this song is one of my favorites.
This song is one of my favs, ab-so-lu-te-ly!!! Well, together with "Memories", "Drugs", "Air", "Animals", "Crosseyed and painless", and I might go on and on, same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was.... Thanks for sharing!!!
I remember this tune was also played by the band on Saturday Night Live. I had a cassette tape of it for many years and might even still have the tape but I seem to remember a friend taping some awful Hawkwind 8-track over it later on.
I was there TOO! I was RIGHT up at the stage in front of Tina Weymouth. I have a photo of her from that night. So cool to see this! Thanks! (Hm, I wonder if I just saw my shoulder! HAHA! I'll bet that's my hand & camera! ) What a great place that was!
Artists Only [Live] - Talking Heads - 1978 - "AMG Pick. ...whether he was adding to his observations on boys and girls or turning his 'Psycho Killer' into an artist in 'Artists Only.' Good first impression on the guitar HOOKS and drum work. One of their BEST? - The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads [Live] [Bonus Tracks] (Rhino) [Disc 1]-2004. NOTE: It was released in 1982 and it took more then 20 years to be issued in the digital domain. EXCELLENT GET IT.
Lucky to be at this concert, when they brought the B-52s along with them, to open. We had just returned from San Francisco, where a friend had turned us onto both groups. Talking Heads returned to the Armadillo once more before it closed in '81, with the great Funkadelic lineup, and simply rocked the 'Dillo. TH Sound man had me roll a fattie of Afi, as he tuned up the system. Priceless.
I saw Talking Heads twice in concert, both times at the Agora/Stage West in West Hartford, Conn. The first time was in November 1979, and then again exactly one year later. Both times I was right up against the stage and stood in front of Tina Weymouth. The Agora/Stage West was a great place for concerts. I also saw the Ramones, the B-52s, Devo and the Plasmatics there.
then you are one lucky son of a bitch's gun. im too young to have seen them live :\ . Still, I am fully grateful ween is recent music for me to witness live with my own eyes and ears. Im still jealous though!
one of my alltime favorite songs of theirs. Its hard to find this song's master track anywhere on the internet- but its good to see them live. Wish i had been there'
I was there too. The B52s opened for them. Insane.
