  • @petayV8 Nobody in Shropshire says garbage. Nobody.

  • @SxcKieranGrr Wouldn't surprise me mate if they did use....American English is slowly creeping in tot his country

  • @petayV8 I'll pay for your psychotherapy session, don't worry.

  • i would like to see some one like jay lenno be on a us version for starters someone who know's who there talking about , and maybe someone from NASCAR like Richard petty , and then number 3 could be some one like Paul walker ( from fast and furious ) he races drift professionally

  • Anyway....

  • @Dansito123 im american and i can agree with you on that

  • @petayV8 Ah, fair enough. I saw their new episode in India. Made me laugh so much. xD

  • Top Gear USA had big shoes to fill. Bottom line. Would have been been better to come up with their own creation than try to be the US version of the UK one.

  • im an avid viewer of top gear uk and an american. when top gear usa was released i was excited, but then i watched it. it was just poorly done and the hosts were not funny

  • The "Dunny Spider aka Gonad Spider". Lives exclusively under wooden toilet seats in public toilets in Australia.

  • The US version needs funnier and more charismatic presenters. I think the yanks have guys funnier than Clarkson, the TV executives should've done their casting better.

  • Also, the US version is on history channel, where it doesn't really belong. Discovery and NBC both turned it down, so if the show can't earn a primetime slot on a channel that people actually watch, then it's screwed. Even so, no one will care as long as Top Gear UK is around. I almost saddens me because I think the US version had good potential.

PS: sorry for the rant, just wanted to express my opinion on this

  • Top Gear UK has been around since 1977, whereas the US version has been around only since 2010. Essentially, the US version, will forever live in the shadow of the UK version and will most likely never be able to gain that type of reputation. I expect the US version go be cancelled after a few years, as were the Russian and Australian versions. The newly created South Korean version will probably go through the same thing as well.

  • Top Gear USA is a decent show, and there's nothing about it that I can say I particularly hate. Of course, I am also a big fan of Top Gear UK and believe it to be a million times better in every way. The presents are much more knowledgable and funnier and the challenges are much more interesting.

  • Top Gear USA sucks balls. Top Gear UK rules!

  • @PhotoShopChannel What do you mean by 'YES'? lol.

  • @JoshuaMouncer YES Top Gear USA sucks balls! BIG DONKEY ONES!

  • @PhotoShopChannel Yep, it sure does suck.

  • omg usa top gear was soo horible, I like taylers show when he was by him self

  • Top Gear USA canned? I swear I saw something on BBC 3 a few weeks back where it seemed there WAS a Top Gear USA.

Nevermind. Must have been a horrible nightmare.

  • @Moparman85 better than the other versions

  • @Dansito123 im an american and i think americans are stupid as fuck, hows the civilized world?

  • @layoflakersnation there not stupid. dont shit on your own doorstep son. u.s dont get uk humour and uk dont get u.s humour. its just the rest of the world gets/likes uk humour. i honestly dont know why/how you dont get are humour. no idea

  • top gear uk sucks, its just a bunch of scripted bullshit

  • @Moparman58 Lol I bet you watch Top Gear USA which sucks completely.

  • Top Gear UK is too cool for that....other guy

  • I am an American, and I think the TG American show just flat out sucks. These three stooges are not funny, and not interesting, Nothing beats the original. Jeremy, Richard and James are the most informative reviewers on TV. Too bad every car they review is over $100,000.

  • I thought top gear USA was really good, instead of testing leyland they tested GM, for example. Top gear australia was abysmal, but i liked the US version. They should have given it more time, imagine if they canned "old" top gear and never gave the show we know now a chance?

  • Getting pretty fucking tired of Americans being characterized as fat, knuckle-dragging philistines who "don't get it". If I ever see that fucking Clarkson fellow I'm going to choke him out...

  • Comment removed

  • @mma2535 Of course, I was joking...maybe...If Clarkson wants to make jokes about automobiles and their owners, there's plenty of fodder using British versions of both. Criticizing us Yanks is just another way of dissembling about the traditionally poor quality of Brit-based vehicles.

  • @beeroosterm You're not really helping that are you? Americans always resorting to violence, just saying bro.

  • @PezOfTheNextGen Sometimes violence is the only answer; some people just need a good ass-kicking. And I believe Aussies have a fairly good reputation for that as well. That Britpansyfuck needs a little attitude adjustment...

  • @PezOfTheNextGen just ignore him, he trolls mostly top gear videos talking sh1t, some people have nothing better to do with their pathetic lives,

  • Is it me or does James look different? Maybe its the beard

  • the people on top gear usa try to do some jokes and im just sitting there thinking wtf was that it wasnt funny

  • the world and his dog prefers the UK version. The US one is pure horseshite

  • Just watched top gear usa. Really weird that they've not only tried to emulate the program but the personalities, i found it creepy and synthetic

  • 0:41 i dont want to kill Jeremy Clarkson D:

  • prefer the original. Top Gear UK. don't like copycat.

  • @petayV8

see thats how alot of people feel about top gear US, it looks like one giant commercial for whatever brand is tossing money at them, i mean the truck competition, was done a couple of times just because one of them were all bitter about the results of the commentators... thats just bs, if the reviewer feels your car is crap or performs as such on the tests, there is no re-do, unless its next years model. Honestly the brits have it right, dont mess with it, dont try to copy/dillute.

  • @tkimlaw I agree. :)

  • well 34 years vs 1 year obviously UK's gonna fucking win

  • Thing I don't get is, why can't we just export the UK version to the US? Why do the Americans have to have their own show with their own presenters? What's wrong with watching the UK version which is a million times better?

  • @AntonioRepiso I absolutely agree. In the UK we accept American programming without subtitling and without modification and we enjoy them. But the Yanks struggle with anything that is not made in their own back yard. Probably too many TV executives under estimating the American audience and over estimating their ability to judge what will be popular. Focus groups are responsible for bland programming.

  • @terrortorn Netflix instant streaming gives the cultured American fans of British TV many options vs. American cable/PBS/standard TV. I was able to see every episode of "Touch of Frost", and "Wire in the Blood" via Netflix. I discovered "Doc Martin" through Netflix. There's also "Spooks (MI-5)", "Waking the Dead", and older series such as "Edward the Seventh" from 1975. It's just as strong as "I Claudius"!

  • @strangeones4 Its unfortunate you have to go to those lengths to find something different. In the UK many of our programmes come with the added thought " Americans won't get this", important when they are marketed abroad. We get so many US programmes comedy, dramas etc all of which pay no heed to an English audience but it make little difference. Maybe the short series runs of English programming don't suit selling commercial times on US networks.

  • @terrortorn It's all about commercials. A US show from the big four networks, will stretch a show into 22-25 episodes vs. a British three, six, eight, or twelve episode arc. However, there is great American TV out there, most of it is either on pay cable, or general cable. One of my favo(u)rite American shows is "Psych", and via the internet I've noticed it's also popular in the UK. "House M.D." is worldwide popular thanks to Hugh Laurie. "Fringe", and "Bones" I'll put there with UK TV.

  • @terrortorn I also forgot to mention "Eureka", "Warehouse 13", and "Burn Notice". "Breaking Bad", "Mad Men", and "Sons of Anarchy" are also pretty good. On the pay cable level, you have "The Wire" (the best), "The Sopranos", and "Dexter". There is great American television, you just have to pay for it, outside of "Bones", "House", and "Fringe".

  • @terrortorn There are people in America who "get it". I've recorded 32 episodes of "qi" on DVD through Youtube. Eleven years ago, BBC America used to be that channel. They aired the last four part series of "Vicar of Dibley" in June 2000. The fact that "qi" isn't aired on BBC America is a complete joke! Then there was the fact that David Tennant didn't exist in America as Doctor Who on BBC America, until the Tennant's last episode!

  • @strangeones4 It does not get any more British than QI, except maybe Have I got News For You. Obviously the BBC is funded by the British taxpayer but I suspect BBC America is commercialised and so the programme choice is still "focused". Jay Leno turned down the Top Gear US presenter role because he knew the executives didn't understand it. Mind you youtube is filled with classic British series, comedy, drama, documentary etc that would never get on US TV in a million years.

  • i dont hate the show as much as im disappointed with it

this show sucks because of the two presenters, other than that, the cinematography, music, special guests, tracks are all good...

i thought if something happens to Jeremy clarkson, TG US would save the day but im afraid TG US is even worse than Motor trend

  • Why have they made Top Gear USA. It's ridiculous!!

  • The first season of US Top Gear was awful, mainly because they took a funny show (UK Top Gear), and tried to make it cool and action-packed. However, I gave the second season another shot, and it was actually pretty good. It was pretty funny, much more focused on the comedy, and Rutlage and Adam are starting to work together to make the show amazing. I still don't like Tanner though. He doesn't get comedy apparently.

  • Whatever tkimlaw! I am a big Top Gear fan but your name placing is not correct. I thought that Top Gear US would not work but it can and was not able to because of hateful bastards like you and Clarkson who thinks that the world revolves around him. Hell just give it a chance and let the people decide!!

  • Top Gear (the American Version is Gay and unwatchable) we all know that there will only ever be one TOP GEAR.

  • Why do Americans keep mentioning a war that Happened such a long time ago? Nobody gives a fuck cause it's in the past!! So annoying

  • I really like Clarkson he speaks his mind like my British friend but he is very amusing. I love Top Gear UK it is brilliant..From someone who lives in the US.

  • I just love how I love they make fun of the Prius!

  • Forget Top Gear UK is and will be the best other like Australia,USA and so far just are cheap and teastles craps! Clarkson,May and Hamond are the man !!

  • Has James had his hair cut?

  • the american top gear has done some good reviews on cars but the thing we all love about top gear are the challenges/specials and the 3 guys that make us laugh every episode. The US version to me seems more about the cars then the crazy and funny stunts. I would like to see an episode/special with the US guys letting go a bit and doing something crazy.

  • Listen! If you honestly think the American Top Gear is better, then your just one more idiot proving that Americans are just ignorant people that think everything american is better. I live in Georgia and I personally think the US Top Gear is the worst show on television, the only good driver and decent host is Tanner Foust. The other two are fat, idiotic, and have no sense of humor. BUT! This is just my opinion, thats all we have. The U.K and the U.S have to completely different cultures.

  • go J.C lol nice work

  • Oh what do you know, Americans writing shit about Britain, how out of the ordinary. You people need to grow the fuck up and stop being such a bunch of ignorant, un-educated fat fucks. It's always the same no matter what video, no matter what forum or what comments section. Americans writing hate filled crap about Britain. If you hate us so much then I wish you a painful death, good day.

  • Turn closed captions on XD

  • Every american who said they won the war is just uneducated, they don't know their own history in which they came from

  • The British dont get american humor

  • top gear usa stig isnt huge wtf

  • @champion6341 that's a reference to an old Top Gear episode when they were in the U.S.A. and their local stig was an obese local track owner because they wanted to make a fat joke about americans (and because he was a pretty good driver.)

  • @Eugen987654321 I saw that episode. He was a fat guy, but, he was just as good a driver as UK Stig, in my opinion. I like the UK version better, because the hosts are more like men than Frat Boys. Too many shows pander to a younger set and that is okay, but, when one gets a little older it is nice to have someone closer to your own age on a show now and then. It is the same as the differences in preferences in anything according to age, music, food, clothing, etc.

  • americans just dont get it

  • as jeremy would say top gear usa is as funny as getting stabbed

  • Pmsl, these comments are great. "oh, you suck" "well we won the war" "ah, well I don't care cos american top gear sucks"

LOL, its all so true, we were beaten in the war and American top gear has made up for it lol.

Fat men in cars, you couldn't make that shit up, lmao.

  • They've just started airing top gear USA in the U.K, presumably so we can laugh at how pathetically bad it is then change the channel to Dave and watch some U.K top gear.

  • @Highstar25 U.K. topgear was really slow and boring in the beginning then slowly got better. U.S. topgear will hopefully get much better in the future

  • Seriously, the American version of Top Gear was so lame it was sick. The concept was great, as is proven in the UK version. However, it is the personalities of the hosts AND the writers/producers that make the UK show so much better. The U.S. network executives are so lame all the time; all they want is 'white bread' programming. The hosts in the U.K are absolutely mad *most* of the time, and they are so much more personable. Contrast that to standard U.S. executive mandated blandness, well....

  • How do the Brits get back at the U.S. for beating their asses in the revolution? They call our tv shows bad =(

  • @Ravag3d1 I don't think anyone even cares anymore, the war was over a long time ago, why would anyone need to worry about it?

We are not pee so tied up in history, we got on with our lives.

It's like saying people are getting back at white people for enslaving them.

I think people should move on and stop hating and live life.

It's a different Britain now, people here don't talk about it unless they are studying history.

  • @Ravag3d1

What - the hell - does that even mean?? US Top Gear WAS total shit. Top Gear UK IS great (most of the time). Has nothing to do with ancient history or your apparent - and rather pathetic - nationalist insecurity.

US Top Gear could have, and should have, been GREAT. Ask yourself: why wasn't it? Then you might get some insight, not least into the medocrity of SOME parts of your television industry. 'Nuff said.

  • @ludocrat This video was uploaded in 2009, so you are takeing the title and comments out of context. TG US is obviously not as good as the BBC version, but it is still a good show if you like cars. The presenters are just not that good although Tanner is a hell of a driver. They need Matt Farra and Derek D from Fast Lane Daily to replace the fat guy and the Joe Roagan wannabe. Then they would have something to build off.

  • @Ravag3d1 It's hilarious how whenever an American is upset that things the UK has are better they bring up a tiny war that literally nobody but America cares about because it doesn't concern them. If this logic worked the other way we could easily turn back the clock ever further, to when the English literally owned the planet.

  • @Ravag3d1 Britain actually won more battles in the Revolution than America so technically America didn't kick Britain's ass

  • top gear uk is the best

  • at least there honest lol

  • pry-us lol

  • I get it alright-and I love it. Clarkson is sooooo politically incorrect, a man after my own heart. He just tells like it is, period.

  • hamster was drowning in jezzas hat

  • These guys have a working charisma, though despite the spats and arguments and insults, still remains very classic. These 3 guys work well together and have fantastic charm. I can't say that about the US version, kinda redneckish and southpark type humor. Maybe if they had guys like Nick Fallon from Clutch, Jason stratham(not american) and bruce willis, I might watch it.

  • Christ you Brits are a bunch of drama queens, lighten the f**k up pansies!

  • @nytia117 You just don't get the awesome humor!

  • American humour is way too slapstick and "in your face" for me, subtle British humour is the best!

  • @HaythemMohamed I totally agree. I live in the US but I love British humor so much more then US humor. But there is some US humor that is quite funny. But majority of it is just dick and fart jokes.

  • top gear uk owns!!!!!!

  • @theturbo714 i like uk and usa

  • The US top gear is getting better. Season 2 right now is much better the hosts are generating that chemistry between each other in their cheap car challenges though Tanner is the only one of them with any car knowledge. I still love the UK top gear I love Jeremy and Richard they are hilarious and the humor is amazing. I am an American but them ragging on America is hilarious and doesn't hurt my pride at all. They rag on everybody and they say British cars and government are rubbish lol.

  • @DerrenBrown100 Sorry our peasants beat your trained soldiers a few years back:) GOD BLESS THE USA!

  • @lollipop9112345678 Sorry that your that blind. The Thirteen colonies winning was a fluke. Our sailors got scurvy and small pox due to lack of fresh fruit and innoculations. The french damn near commited suicide by sending you all their supplies, money and navy. As did many other countries. And americans were fightin on their home ground.

  • @90freaks37 We won because we were sick of King George III's tyranny, and we were willing to lay down our lives so that our brethren could live in a nation where they could freely practice their religion and speak their minds. It wasn't luck, it was strong wills.

And frankly, I prefer the British Top Gear over America's any day of the week.

  • @lollipop9112345678 in a few years..with some luck ,more buildings will go down IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD . fuck USA

  • @MorphzreaZ Dude why you hate Americans so much man, were not all stupid and ignorant like many country's think we our in fact most of us our not its our Southern states that make us look bad.Anyway im a little off topic I like the UK Version alote the US version is new and they not doing thier best yet, becouse tanner in real life is a badass driver

  • @MorphzreaZ Just by saying that it just proves to the world just how fucking ignorant and ugly you people are. BTW, find a fucking dentist sometime. I mean come on, we live in the 21st century, some of you people can at least try to make it through a higher education, learn how to spell and become dentists to help your countrymen.

  • top gear u.s. is the best!

  • @lollipop9112345678 Fuck America

  • @DerrenBrown100 Shouldn't you be rioting?

  • @lollipop9112345678 UK version is a million times better then the stupid fake acted top gear us

  • Top Gear USA is the biggest waste of money since the stimulus package! Black screen every Sunday night would be better than watching the "Idiots Three" try to copy the UK version. If anyone in this country (USA) came up with an original idea I would fall off my chair. Hey, I get "gassed" every weekend and wander the neighborhood. There's A Show!

  • the USA top gear is getting much better though. I admit it is no where close to what the UK guys are doing, but every episode is an improvement. take a look for yourself. every episode is better than the last.

  • Topgear US sucks it's not even funny it's just tanner foust some fat guy and a comedian they can't drive as well as jeremy or Richard even the uk stig is better

  • OK, I have always resptected the oppinions of a lot of people from the UK, but I seriously can't see why you all are so pissed about the USA top gear....(bias much) I only care if it entertains me and the US one does more than that, so there I have lost my respect for your oppinions now.

    Sincerely,

    An American

  • who the fuck is steve?!

  • no surprise the american version is canned. it sucked. they cant make a person laugh like clarkson, may, and hamster. lol and they tried to hard to me like the uk one they made themself look bad doing it in my opinion. all the stuff they do on their shows i have seen on topgear uk

  • I hate US version of Top Gear because of its hosts. They are unprofessional and totally unqualified to make any comments about the vehicles they drive on the show. Only one person, Foust, is qualified to be on the show. Please, a comedian and a fat guy? They show no respect for any of the vehicles they drive, especially the old ones, and they curse too much. They provide no objective assessment or useful review of the vehicles they drive and does all these useless thing with cars. Bastards,

  • @tkimlaw what are you on about? i agreed the us hosts arent very good but saying they shouldnt be on because there a comedian and a race analyst. top gear uk is hosted by a journalist, a radio dj and a pianist.

  • @tkimlaw

In what way are Clarkson, Hammond and May qualified. None are professional drivers. I don't even think it's much of a car show. More of a light entertainment programme including cars. Fifth gear is more of a general car show

  • @GreyGhost881 Are you fucking sirious, fifth gear is a piece of shit

  • Top Gear US was on history channel, which is only good at documentaries, whereas the BBC makes just about everything.

  • I am a new person into the Top Gear area, and started watching the US version of Top Gear. It was okay, it is very geared toward Americans. I like it and it is very entertaining. But after watching episodes of the original Top Gear I fell in love with the show. The UK version is a very witty and great way of reviewing cars. They don't just drive around a track, they actually test them. I do think that the US version will stay if viewership stays up.

  • maybe the US version is rubbish because if they make too much of a critisism towards a car for no real reason they would be sued for infinite billion dollars whereas we dont sue each other over here lol..

  • The real reason Top Gear USA sucked, or sucks, or whatever, is because it's biased opinion. BBC has the luxury of not having any corporate sponsorship, so they don't have to worry about an affiliate of Ferrari, Lamborghini, or whatever getting mad because they dropped XX million dollars on an ad campaign. The "opinions" of Top Gear USA were really just advertisements. No bueno

  • i think the usa top gear (not being bias cuz my hero is tanner foust) but these guys from britain r so bias towards cars for really stupid reasons. and many cars he calls beautiful or ugly he(Jeremy) believes his opinion on a good looking car is everyone's opinions and its not!!

  • That Steve guy said nothing.

  • and were is james may

  • the US version is pretty good guys.. watch top gear UK in their first few seasons, it was terrible! no chemistry at all between the lot.. but a few seasons in, and they loosened up a bit, and now its awesome. its gonna be the same thing with the US version.

  • us top gear is way funnier than the uk version. The uk top gear may be the original, but it is pretty dry. The British jokes and slang are only funny if you live there. That is why they have top gear for different countries.

  • @mrguy561 British humour is more advanced dude! .-)

  • @mrguy561 originals are better than the sequels

  • Well, the US version wasn't canned. I just watched an episode of it and It wasn't bad. Not as good as the original, but not awful. The banter seems more real on the UK version. It takes a while to find your footing. The UK version has had years to develop. The US version needs time too.

  • @hop208 It was canned, it used to be on NBC, History Channel picked up the show after NBC canned it which is why it's on now.

  • The U.S. version was just too "scripted" there was no sense that anything was spur of the moment,..I realize that the U.K. original version is "scripted" as well..but they just pull it off better...The U.S. version is like watching a bad sitcom

  • The US version is hella lame and the guys arent even funny. Now the real version of Top Gear, this guys here in this video are awesome!! Hella funny and I love this show!!

  • its so great that in videos like this you can see HOW WELL they get along also in un-written situations like this interview.. i love TG ^^

  • oh what if i get cancer ?!?! pshh.

  • i watched top gear usa today and it was a fucking joke, the hosts r so wooden and not funny what so ever

  • The English version of the Office is a hell of a lot better than the U.S. version too, but then I'm going to get hated on for saying that because most of you don't really understand the intricacies of good dry humour.

  • @Eugen987654321 I dunno, I liked the UK original but I just think they've turned out to be different. Not better or worse, just different.

  • @Eugen987654321 i couldnt gree with you more... im from the philippines and theres no top gear uk on our television network so i watch it on the net.. nad at of this moment is the first time i ever view top gear US and i havent finish watching yet an episode of there show and already im bored....

its the way they present and sepak that is so dry unlike the top gear UK and or maybe top gear australia

by just the way they speak wont make you bored....

    well nice try americans...

  • @Eugen987654321 tell me your joking

  • @Eugen987654321 agreed

  • @Eugen987654321 maybe because the UK Top Gear has been going on for like 20 years compared to like 1 or 2 for US? mmmm?

  • @Eugen987654321 The American version of the office is significantly better than Top Gear USA.

  • I can't believe "Top Gear" USA. The REAL Top Gear is the UK Top Gear. Now I don't give a freak about what anyone says. I'm speaking for the majority of the people commenting on this: Top Gear UK is the best out there!!!!!!!! Every other Top Gear is like.........UGH. I love the UK version because they're so funny with little effort, they make me laugh, and they're so comfortable with each other. Also, they know their cars. Without faking it. K bye. :)

  • The English version is so much better than the Australian and American one, no offence to those of you who are either Australian and American.

"In England we have this one-eyed Scottish idiot..." Jeremy is EPIC !!

  • the uk version is a lot better because they tried too hard to be funny in the american version

  • @jkosloski69 lol so true who are you?

  • Top gear USA is awesome it's not bias like the uk

  • @bobbyraejohnson its not bias, top gear usa is BORING

  • @bobbyraejohnsonTop Gear USA is boring. It's like every other car show.

  • Top Gear USA wasn't canned!!! It came back for a second season!!!! And actually I enjoy Top Gear USA!!!! It's really funny, and Top Gear UK wasn't that great it's first two seasons either!

  • @ExplosionRadio how is top gear usa funny? their jokes are plain

  • @wPJyat - ???top gear usa has jokes???

  • @Jmme214 OH MY GOSH!!!! i thought nobody else thought that i agree

  • But I also have to say that the show was NOT CANNED. How are they going to can it when the Top Gear USA host Tanner Foust beat a WRC champion?

  • @philonetic the basis of top gear is 3 middle aged men, pissing about. not a pro racing driver, thats wat the stig is for. The challenge when the stig does a lap then chaps have to beat it, that would be easy if ur a racing driver. so thats capput.

  • @pokeshaz

I wasn't comparing, I'd rather have those 3 middle aged men pissing about then the USA tuned version, it's crap.

  • Comment removed

  • dude Hammond pulls that hat off.

  • Where is James?

  • I'm watching top gear USA and I'm so bored I'm looking top gear UK videos on YouTube it's that bad

  • As an American, I can't see anyone being able to pull this show off like Richard, James and Jeremy. The chemistry between them is the perfect mic and I would watch this show 24-7 if they could make that many new episodes. Guys, I would like to thank you for putting your lives on the line to bring us side splitting laughs. I think you are my favorite show of all time! I hope you can make it at least 10 more years, we need something decent on tv.

  • i love top gear uk version way more

  • the english are the only ones that can pull this one off, the english humour and wit is so much better.

Anyone disagreeing should be flogged... the english way !!! XD

  • @europachef I agree, the English are best at these sort of programmes, Clarkson is very very funny (:

  • its really funny uncencored!
