  • @atlantisrising100 Please don't listen to people like @xBlackWaterxx...Obviously they're just mad that nobody has ever loved them, and when they die nobody's going to listen to a song this incredible and remember them, because nobody will care that they have died. Seriously, some people need to get a life, and stop harassing good people. Sorry for your loss :(

  • holy fuck

  • Billy Corgan put every bit of his heart and soul into this album along with the rest of the Pumpkins and it's one of the best records I have ever heard. Just makes me feel good when I am feeling shitty...puts life into a greater perspective.

  • Hey guys, keep the negativity away from this comment section, huh? 'tis a song about his mother dying. Respect, maybe? Great piano track.

  • Ahh..Bestill my heart..

  • who are people who dislike songs like this??? go dislike justin Beiber or Kesha tryin to make as much money as possible instead of putting heart and soul into their songs.

  • This song is so pretty it's almost painful..

  • I hate my name, but I love this song. It's so pretty.

  • Great song A+

  • Bellissima! una canzone speciale...

  • my all time favorite! they can play it on my funeral!!

  • Best Smashing Pumpkins song ever. Hell, it might be the best SONG ever!

  • To my grandfathers and grandmothers.. R.I.P. <3

  • Annie-Dog is good as well.

  • Love this, Tear and Pug.

  • For a tribute to his mother, I don't feel that this is a sad song I feel it's more a song about how he knows he'll see her again "on the other side" alot of other songs on Adore sound alot more sad like To Sheila and Blank Page

  • i'm always listening to new bands and new music but no matter what, i always come back to smashing pumpkins at the end of the day. there just isn't anything like them anymore =(

  • @Vili102 give us time, our music will reach your ears

  • Soundgarden's and Pearl Jam's Matt Cameron drummed for this.

  • great song

  • dammit i wish this wasent that album only shit on itunes

  • this has always been my favorite song. but this is the first time i've listened to it since my mom died. it's exactly how i would explain my pain with music.

  • Marandansa...you should write for rolling stone or something ,that was cool

  • Goose bumps.. <3

  • you would upload this just to make me cry one more time today ;) I guess a lot of tears in a day can be a really good thing when it comes to good emotional music. Thanks buddy :) God bless you.

  • 3:36 wat is that instrument that is playin, its really like peaceful

  • @clownbaby768 That'd be a synthesizer.

  • @SooprBamp I'm pretty certain that's a guitar through an e-bow. I would actually bet money on that.

  • Comment removed

  • The guitar starts with mellow characteristics, reminiscent of infancy. It develops into a sharpened, aggressive phase, as if vociferating. When the song appears to have reached its climax and to fade out, something comes to sustain the reduced guitar, looping. The previous dynamic, assertive riff comes back in a reversed form, as if someone has responded to the cry. The riff repeats in an alternation btwn the low pitch and the high pitch, as if an eternal reflection between a son and his mother.

  • @mirandansa I really liked that analysis. Thank you.

  • @mirandansa wow i bet ur like an expert on explaining and describing things in person, like u dont even have to practice

  • @mirandansa Wow haha

  • R.I.P. Martha Corgan, thank you for giving birth to the greatest musician the world will ever know. Farewell and goodnight to all that's pure that's in your heart..

  • i had to admit i was kind of happy, that they made a song for martha..

    (b/c meh name is marthaa)

but i didnt know she died.. ._."

    this song is so beautiful..

    r.i.p martha.

Well, i felt as if i was decaying.. inside.

idk, it makes me feel so cold and i felt a shiver through me.

Why, can't songs be like backk then?

    :l..

    The Smashing Pumpkins Still Lives!!

  • billy must of relly loved hhis mother as he should and alway will R.I.P. Martha Crogan thx for giving us billy

  • Favorite song on the album, although that's not saying much

    Still good song

  • Smashing lo mejor ke puede haber en musica, y esta cancion es suprema del disco para mi la mejor

  • R.I.P Martha Corgan.

  • One of the most beautiful Smashing Pumpkins songs...EVER. This is pretty much the only song that makes me cry. It is a true master piece and the BEST song off of Adore by far.

  • i have to say this is the most poetic and beautiful of all of smashing pumpkins work yet its one of the least heard which is sad

  • This is probably my most favorite Smashing Pumpkins song.

  • I nearly cried when Billy started singing, so sad, makes me die inside a little every time i hear it :(

  • 4:27

so unexpected to hear one of the greatest electric rifs ever from this song.

  • Billy should be taught in poetry class just like shakespeare.

    This song is so amazing.

    But rlly... Aren't they all? S P V

  • Matt Cameron on drums.

  • Damn... I did a little research and Billy was on acid for those albums. Never knew that.

  • @SuperSoupism Damn? this is a beautiful song?

  • I seriously can't listen to this song without crying. It's so beautiful, and conveys the feeling of that irreplaceable relationship with your mother so well.

  • i gotta say this is my new favorite Smashing Pumpkins song. so sad, so perfect

  • very sad and perfect

  • This song is a great song to listen to when your sad.. or any other time really!

  • i love this song, it makes me cry it reminds me of when my mother died :(

  • simply awesome

  • goosebumps n tears ... gosh I love you so much!

    ♫ SP forever ♫

  • wow, I've listen to almost exclusivly Early pumpkins.

This sounds so different than the Gish/Siamese Dream Pumpkins I'm use to

  • i recommend you to try and listen to Adore. It's pretty good!

  • why doesn't music like this exist anymore?

  • Because fast talking to a drum-beat sells better.

  • Comment removed

  • wow man that was perfectly worded screw freaking rap smashing pumpkins is where the real music is listen to the fricken music

  • @08L1V10N First off I grew up in 80's and 90's and 2000 the issue is not rap the issue is People don't want an artists concept they want to pick a song rather than discovering the treats the artist wants to share. Corporate control of music and videos is the issue.

  • @08L1V10N True that

  • @08L1V10N dont hate on rap. dig sum undeground hip hop and dont be so ignorant

  • @08L1V10N

    OMG so fukin true...

  • @Spoonular it does you just have to look harder for it :)

  • @Spoonular

it does, trust me, it's just not put into the public eye.

  • @Spoonular Too god to be replicated, sorry.

  • @Spoonular

I agree, "artists" just write non sense crap, but that's the most sold today.

This is real music and will never be out of time.

  • @Spoonular it does

  • @Spoonular This will always exist. Music never dies long as people like us keep it alive.

  • @Spoonular it does exist!! only not in the charts :) just listen to Muse Exogenesis part I II and III..... it excists! :D

  • Andres Montes RIP

  • @kkkobbbe888 woah thats my last name

  • casualidad friend

  • Greatest song of the day...

  • how did he lose the ability to make music like this???

  • yea i wonder the same. and i imagine millions of others. perhaps perfection is fleeting and we should just be thankful to be a witness. :)

  • Billy used to be on acid actually. For Gish, Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie, and Adore. But he is not on it anymore.

Compare Zeitgeist to Gish and you can tell a difference lyrically.

  • @AyroonSan Billy was only on acid pre Gish era.

  • Corgans dad is playing the solo at the end btw. Freaking epic song that will never get it's recognition since everybody hates on this album, which imo was the BEST pumpkins album

  • PHILLY!!!!! NE Philly here...but I agree sort of...I think Siamese Dream was their best but this is 2nd best.

  • I do love adore. Best evar.

  • @southphillyman I like all the SP albums. Billy Corgan has grown up and changed over the years, and so has his music. All of his songs aren't going to be MC/IS.

  • @airwalkcrazy360 hey yeah well said i totally agree

  • R.I.P. Martha Corgan. Thank you for bringing Billy and his music to us.

  • @Riles311 Can you reflect on this more? Its always a musical monument to know where Billy has his heart and soul. I gather the music, but not the theory of the writing nor the originalty. Not that I'm blank, just want to feel the full reflection of a heart sent feeling. I'm 60 years old. If this is a send off, God I hope I would be so lucky to have such a tribute.

  • wow..

  • In my opinion both this song and "Behold the Nightmare" are the best cuz billy talks about his mom dieing out of cancer, my mom died to so thats why i like those songs.

  • I heard this song when the album came out and bought the tape and i loved it....for several years i didn't listen to it then when my mom passed away i was listened to it daily....I love it ...sorry to hear about your mother's passing.....it never gets easier huh?,,,,,,

  • This song has become one of my favorite Smashing Pumpkins songs after hearing right now.

  • Without a doubt the most beautiful Smashing Pumpkins song in my opinion

  • I simply love his voice... broken and sweet at the same time..

    such a beautiful song.

    left aching in my mind

    shadows kept alive...

  • THank you SOO much for posting this song. I love this song and Behold! The Night Mare from Adore. In my opinion its their most underrated masterpiece.

  • Your picture out of time

    Left aching in my mind

    Shadows kept alive...

Corgan, a musical genius. Pumpkins, music legends

  • one of the Pumpkins best songs

    such beautiful music

  • I never felt like I could relate to this song, but I always found it astoundingly beautiful. I adore (pun intended) all of Billy Corgan's work, though Adore is quite the spectacle of fine craft.

This song is pure genius, and it just brings so much emotion...

Adore was the first album I had by them as well. It has a special place in this heart!

  • billy made this right after his mom died out of cancer

  • "If you have to go, don't say goodbye,

If you have to go, don't you cry"

    I did cry.

Such a beautiful line, and it's so sad yet beautiful.

    Love it.

  • I absolutely agree with you jigglypuff3

it is like going home after a war

  • I love this song.

It always makes me cry though.

Such a beautiful song has a sad meaning to it.

I love Smashing Pumpkins so much.

  • from 7:00 till the end is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard

  • totally agree

  • from 0:00 for me:)

  • faboulous song..

I can't see how people at the time could not appreciate adore..

it was their first album I heard and even after I had got them all I couldn't find a better one..

Am happy to see most of people here think the same :D
