  • Awesome

  • I just surfed through youtube with billy preston, and it just gets better and better. Is there any better performer out there. if so ., please inform me, because this guy is to me numer one.

  • god rest his soul...man. they don't make 'em like that anymore.

  • I'm a huge Billy fan and when I was a kid I loved squeeze....so this is extra cool to me to see Billy and Jools play together. They also did "That's the way God planned it" during that interview I never saw it but I would love to....if anyone could help me out I would be grateful

  • I love "Don't let me down"by The Beatles, without billy on this track it just wouldnt have been the same ...soon as i listen to that song i focus on the sound of the keyboard wow :-)

  • God I miss his gift... I could never own enough of his records

  • He wasn't the fifth or sixth anything.....he was the first, the one, the only Billy Preston.

That man was a breath of fresh air and a ray of light.

  • i have never read a negative comment on billy, and i hope i never will, that's amazing...

such a great artist, such a joy, he was full of love for the music...

  • I saw billy preston live at bumbershoot in seattle in '05. I think? It was one of the best performances I have seen! He is incredible. Not just good playing, but funny and great showmanship!

  • Billy should have told everyone who his mother was when he said she was the first famous person he performed with. His mom was Ernestine Wade who played Sapphire Stevens on The Amos N Andy TV series 1951-53. Anyone who is looking for that series on DVD can find it on our website listed here on YouTube

  • Only the good die young....

His voice does it all ...gifted few like these need no band or instruments to convey the message. What a voice .......

  • He always had a smile on his face, and always puts a smile on my face.

    RIP Billy.

  • The man was unique in so many ways - he make that organ sing as well! RIP Billy

  • He was also the 6th Rolling Stone in the 70's.

  • Wow, talk about someone with soul.

  • (with tears running down my face) God bless you, Billy. That was too good.

  • oh man, when he starts to sing...

what a fool am i,believing this was a Joe Cocker song!,shame on me.

  • Cocker was a great cover artist. He had Preston's blessing

  • was?

  • Preston had battled kidney disease in his later years, brought on by a lifetime of alcohol and drug abuse. Although he received a kidney transplant in 2002, his health continued to deteriorate. He died on June 6, 2006 in Scottsdale, Arizona, of complications of malignant hypertension that resulted in kidney failure and other complications. He had been in a coma since November 21, 2005. His funeral was held on June 20

  • alguien sabe donde puedo conseguir ese album???

Does anyone play the Hammond nowadays.

  • do indeed

  • Thx man I checked them out...!

Did not know about these guys...

Amazing...I played the hammond in church some times I love it.

  • if you mean pros, then check out joey defrancesco, lonnie smith, rhoda scott nd plenty mo.

  • I do! (small town local musician who lugs around a C3!)

  • I didnt even know he wrote You Are So Beautiful.

    lEGEND.

    IM gonna study him now...

Damn I too young to know these people.

But the industry as it is today forces me to search for these real artists.

  • @Idsard2007 He wrote this with Denis Wilson of the Beach Boys.

  • thanks for posting!

  • Billy's really quite the talent. He writes some of the greatest songs ever, then passes them on to Joe Cocker and others to do. And he was good enough on the keys to play with John Paul George and Ringo. Man, he must have been good to play with them. Real good.

  • thank you for posting this, i truly appreciate this. rest in peace BP

  • Such a legend but sadly only 12 months prior to his untimely death June 6, 2006 aged 59. RIP Billy.

  • The master. The greatest. My Muse. Billy, you will be forever remembered.

  • I can only say...you are not alone my brother.

He was indeed the master. Go back and check out his albums you will see he was ahead of his time on a number of facets...not only musically. He lives on in my heart and music as well.

  • This is/was one of my inspirations. Loved his music!!

  • Thank you so much - without doubt the greatest ever love song - love you Billy!

  • It's such a shame! He played with Clapton for years and died before i got to see them both on stage with each other. R.I.P Billy.

  • Man he is a monster player!

  • To Shullovox:

Thank you SO much for putting this on. Is there more to this interview/performance you can make available to us?

  • unfortunately, this is all I have at the moment...

  • I can put up the rest of the Billy Preston material from this show if you like - a cover of The Beatles "I'm Looking Through You" and an (amazing) version of "That's The Way God Planned It."

  • Thank you so much. I'd really appreciate that.

  • ok, I've put both up. Not sure if I can link directly here, but they can be accessed via my profile anyway.

  • wonderful, soulful, amazing

  • A man with great talent!

  • You are so beautiful to us,Billy... God bless you always.
