My 3 months old GR simply won't use the newspaper or the weewee pad. The moment I laid it down he will charge to it and tore it up :(. So I've to constantly watch out for any signs from him if he wants to pee or poo. And he never ever whine if he wants to poo or pee which is frustrating to me even though I've always brought him outside the house to do his business. Worst thing was if he ever pooed inside the house he would gobble it up when I've fed him more than enough food. Someone wants to...

If your dog is unloading inside then you need to go back to basic potty training. Outside every 15-30 min. Go to potty spot and say 'go potty' over and over so dog knows why it's there. Praise for outdoor potty. Indoors keep dog leashed to you so if the dog squats to go, you are right there to yell at it (so it knows this is wrong) and take it out for correct potty and praise. Crate when not supervised; dogs won't soil their beds if they can help it. Hope that helped!

@elainehasnobrain You should not say go potty until the puppy actually GOES potty! Then when he goes potty he will understand that go potty means to go potty outside.Then you praise him or her. And yelling only makes the dog scared of you and he will only learn to be scared not where and when to go potty. You use a stern but soft voice to say no and take him outside again. I personally do not like crating my puppy because who wants to lock their baby up? He feels as if he did something wrong.

Ok i dont know if anyone has answered this yet or what but i need some help. My puppy Luna has learned that pooping isnt good but she hasnt got that peeing is bad. I mean everytime she starts i catch her and take her outside and on walks for about 2 or so hours and sometimes she will pee and sometimes she wont. I am afraid to use newspaper because she is hyper and will tear it up. I have a pee pad but she would rather tear it up than us it? any help?

I find this to be bullshit because I have been trying to train this puppy for 6 months and my dog has never gone on the newspaper...I take him outside and he doesn't go outside either...my dog would rather pee and dookie in my living room, so I put up newspaper there and it won't do it there it will do it somewhere where there is no newspaper...my cat was trained in 3 months and well my cat lives inside and now my dog lives outside. Too bad soo sad.

get puppy pads, and when they go pee rush him/her to the pad and if that doesnt work, get the pad olace it on the pee and get it absorbed and let your dog smell it, and over time she/he should go on the pad, later out the pad outside.

be afraid, be very afraid....nah just kidding. have a lot of treats ready and first daya be outside and when they go, and do it in the grass or where they suposed to, give them a treat

are they very young? like just a few weeks? just get ready to have to clean up a lot of messes. you will fall inlove with the pups tho. get the trust of the mother (if she is there). also learn about signs of a chocking or sick puppy. if they are young pups, it can be quite easy. if they are older, be prepared for some work. you will have to moniter them a lot so they dont pee or eat things. just give them TONS of exercise

I take my new puppy out EVERY hour. The problem is...he starts playing! He doesn't realize he's out there to "pee". Will they eventually realize the purpose of going out? It's been a week!

We have a 2 month old puppy, we feed him 3 times a day with water, then take him out. Also first thing in the morning & last thing before going to bed. That is working...I really don't think you need to take a puppy out every hour. I read that a good rule of thumb is his age in months + one = # of hours puppy needs to go. Also maybe you should put all water & food away between feeding times.

Well you can leave the water out longer then the food. Because they will drink when your not looking and pee. Give them the water arter walks or playing with them. Also you should have it down the when the food is there. They might get thristy like us when were eating dinner.

Hi, You should read the book "Someone For Scruffy" by Steven E. Farley. Book is for children on what to do and not to do with there new puppy. Great childrens book.
