Well, im flying minmatar, so crosstraining to weapons, cap skills and skills to amarr command ship would mean... it would probably take me a year before i can do much else then just sit in it.

Bah I did real soloing in serpentis against the goons... in the days before you could warp to 0.

I'd sit with my 'geddon outside a station and blast them in their shitty frigs and cruisers as they auto-piloted into dock. then run away laughing when the goon fleet showed up all pissed off.

Solo pvp is about comming ready,prepared. Not jump into the crappiest ship you can grab.

Like a soloest Tech3 dude. hunt,destroyer,leave. no trace,no wreck,no pod,nothing. kill,leave,vanish. Nothing matters. not even killmails in pvp.

But everything in pvp is effected. Time,weakness,attack,prodictin­g,movements, abilites,reactions,etc,etc.

Now I'll use the rest of this post to comment on factors that matter for you to be a good pvp'er: Shipclass, ship, skills, choose of weapons, choose of defence systems, choose of back-up systems. Whats your playstyle? long-range? short-range? hit & run? missiles? laser? hybrid? projectiles? shield or armor tank? buffer, passive or active? Maybe you could try a nanoship. Maybe use a medium slot for a sensor booster? increase range or lock-speed? Not so easy now, is it? bitch

You can do solo PVP in eve ,only thing it is slow and boring ,and no matter how good pilot is ,when 3+ guys are shooting at him ,he is gonna end up dead unless those that are shooting at him are complete 2 month old players !!

Team pvp is more fun and more fast ,and probably in 2 hours of team pvp you will do more damage than in like 3 weeks solo !!!

Eve PVP is great ,especially if you are doing it in skilled gang with FC that knows what he is doing !!!

Yeah you gotta watch out for bait, too... One time I was roaming low-sec in an AF and I found a Dominix alone in a belt... I didn't engage him, I just stayed there for a while, routinely getting closer and closer to him, until he locked... Then a Rapier decloaked right behind me and that was the end of my passive-shield tanked Jaguar... It took em both (Domi and Rapier) a nice while to kill me, though.

Assault Frigs by me are best for pvp ,especially for roaming gangs ,because they are fast ,they have great resists and most important they have small radius so i know it took them while to own you ,if rapier did not web you (probably) you would just warp off ,but that is problem i hate baits :S

Yeah, I love AF's. I can only fly Minmatar AF's right now, but I have Cal and Gall frigate both on level 4, so one more level up on either of those and I can fly their AF's too. :) Right now, the Wolf is my favorite. I've had some great success with it.

Ishkur is awesome, I'd say I prefer that over Minm AF's, Enyo can be good but I would deffo fly a Jag or Wolf over an Enyo anyday.

ishkur is ok but only and only if your drone skills are sorted ,and those are "extra" set of skills you need beside gunnery ,and that cost extra time...

Minm frigs are more straight ,for damage you need only gunnery !

And that extra time you need for drones you could be spending on mechanic ,engineering and electronic ,those skills make a whole lot of difference when piloting unlike drones..

Very true, I didn't really start flying the Ishkur till I had about 3.5mil SP in drones (which included Ogre II's and interfacing 5) and about 3mil in gunnery. And near maxed-besides armour comps at 4, never really considered the extra time it takes to use it effectivley. But once you have the skills it's a beast of an af. Don't get me wrong though, the Wolf/Jag is awesome too, if not as awesome, likely just down to preferance. I've always been a drone guy though.

My approach toward AF is just to keep it simple and clean ,i would always prefer to have for example 6 millions in gunnery ,than to split that number in half on gunnery and drones...

I used to fly Caldari for about 2 years ,and after i gave a try my friend minm character i started to hate caldari ,because in order to fly certain ships i had to learn different set of skills in order to compensate and that ate my time and always was leading me ->

So my character had about 9 mil sk pts in missile and about 7 in gunnery ,because caldari uses missiles and hybrid guns ,but wouldn't it be better if all caldari ships used just missiles ,i would instead of 9 mil had about 16mil in missle or gunnery ,and that makes all the difference!

I like minmatar frigs because you need universal skills ....Nothing fancy unlike other races ,keep it simple ,and simple usually wins!

You need gun's for harpy. Blasters to be precise.

Moa is good, not quite as good as the likes of a thorax, but with its ability to fit a medium neut, a rack of blasters, LSE, MWD and 3 damage mod's, you can tear some shit up. Plus it get's an awesome tank with the resist bonus.

The Raven is also quite an awesome ship, put torps and a buffer on that ship and it becomes a Monster for fleet engagements.

As for the drake, it is an awesome ship. 500-600DPS and 80K EHP including tackle. Winsauce!

I have an absolution also, been in it for a month or so, i have yet to figure out the best way to set it up for pvp, I've lost one to 7 BS in 0.0 sadly =\ oh well haha

I don't think anything would have save you from that.

I use pulse lasers myself, dual medium rep tank with energized passive hardeners. It's worth getting a 40% passive faction thermal hardener (they run for around 10mill).

MWD and cap booster are a must, So for solo, fit a point, in a gang fit a web.

hmm.... yea for some reason i've been against using Cap booster charges because you eventually run out, but its the way to go with all dual rep/laser boats. i'm thinking AB instead of MWD but idk we'll see. Btw, i was with 2 ravens, 2 vagas, and a guardian, and they took us out.

I still recomend the MWD. With pulse lasers you want to be able to get into optimal as quickly as possible. Plus it will help you get through dictor bubbles.
