I have to say that breaking this album down into its individual movements like this is a GREAT idea! I have 6 different versions of this album (4 on CD--all various pressings of the 61 track version; I'm still hunting for the U.S. 36 track release), the LP, and audio cassette), but having each movement contained to its own track like this is a fun way to listen to the album. I'd love to see Peaceville (the last label to release the album) release it this way. Nice work, Beesson6606!

Unfortunaly almost all of the orchestral parts are actually loops taken directly from EASTWEST's "Symphonic Adventure" sound library disc. These were not written or recorded by the band, the metal parts were written on top of the premade loops. The band did add some sounds and synths here and there, though.

Now, you can do many things with Finale, and synthesis + sampling is that powerful today that you can re-create the same sound with computers without a problem.

I don't entirely agree. Blakkheim did the main song writing and playing, but Dan Swanö was a main player in the creation of this album. He also produced it, which has a very large part in the creation of the album's sound. Lets not forget drums.

I really appreciate he didn't recorded a newer album, when he started to write it, he couldn't find the right inspiration, he just gave up, I can´t imagine how hard could it be to record a better album than this one, Diabolical Masquerade will always be remembered as one of the best metal bands ever with this soundtrack
