@xFLaWLesssss hmmm... you say the guy is a dumbass, but what you don't is that the cars uses DSG system, which means, it changes gear automatically. Who's the noob? :)
its acctualy not to bad, maybe to even say GOOD, for 1.4 TSI..Turbo charged and supercharger, in the same time, one motor hmmm....Nice, im sure someone with, a good dyno tuning knowledge, better exsaust, and the turbo from the golf R, coilovers, and this will be as fast as GTI, but with much better fuel economy..!!!...
My evo 6 "tommi Makinen", will eat you for breakfast golf R, GTI, or 1.4 tsi :-)
Don't you just love how rapid those DSG's are? I mean not so much long ago a Ferrari would only dream of these gear-changes, and it's on a Golf?!? Very very impressive especially if you consider i'm not what you call a Golf fan
dude have you ever had a problem with that car? they say that the only full reliable tsi engine is the one with the 122...I have one 122 too but I'd appreciate it if you told me if you had any problems..
@georgerelax7302 I have the exact 1.4 160bhp dsg version still no problems.
Although at full throttle the car isn't quick at changing from 2nd to 3rd in sport mode. It's stuck around 7500-8000rpm for like half a second and then it changes. Might bring it to VW for a quick look.
I drive a jetta 1.4TSi 170hp DSG6 (production year 2008). I do not understand why did they lower the power by 10hp? Now it has 160hp.It's true, with a 7-gear brand new DSG. I read that 7-gear DSG supports only 250Nm of torque. Maybe the 170hp initial version was at the limit of this value. Anyway, great car. Very powerful until 180-190km/h. Passing 190-200km/h size of the engine starts showing its downfalls. It's not as much a highway car as it is a rally car.
@sangolt88 VW stopped production, it turned out to be a problematic engine. Distributor and injection production faults were the cause and it turned out to be to expensive to change the production. To bad, it was one of the few VAG engine that really impressed me.
@pinoy1000 Lots of boost pressure! When you have a turbo, the only limit to how much horsepower it makes is how strong the mechanical engine components are. If they wanted to, they could get over 1000bhp out of a 2 liter engine with enough boost pressure and mass flow rate. It would just take a lot of extra metal to reinforce everything, and upgrades to forged internals for greater strength but the internal capacity would still be two liters. I'm talking of course about the Escudo Pike's Peak :)
I present, VW Golf GTI Edition30 serial ultra limited in 2007, a new model celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the Golf GTI. With its powerful 2.0 Turbo FSI 230 hp (169 kW), the Edition 30 is found very close to the production model and responds to the wishes of GTI enthusiasts. The options were set to respond to the request will be noted especially 18-inch alloy rims matte black, rocker panels and spoilers front and rear body color and the rear light color darker. An acronym "Edition 30"
its about NM. Example, my car have only 120hp aprox, its a 2.1 1990 citroen xm, but it haves 260NM or a bit more...if we both pull a 2000kg caravan....i go 120km/H making 16l/100 and you make 30+... because 1.4 and 1.6 are small, they have high Horse Power but no strenght...so they need go full load to keep up
But your car will pown mine accelerating normally....more hp & and rpm's + 6 gear....you win easy....;)
@666SONOILBRANCO666 you can go to auto motor und sport and see what numbers they got. here is some of them: 0-160: golf tsi 160 hp manual :20.7sec and dsg: 20.2 sec, 2.0tdi 140hp: 27.8sec, gtd 170hp: 22.0 sec and with a tsi with 122 hp :31.0 sec. all numbers are from auto-motor-und-sport
We don't do fucking fag cars like the VW Polo. If you think driving one of these will make you look and feel good, you should well and truly re-evalute your sexuality.
@hkpoctb Are you coming on to me? If you need an excessively large car to feel good then I think it's you who needs to re-evaluate your sexuality :D I don't consider a car to be an important part of my sexuality, that's my wifes job.
@ilion12345 Haha! Good one, but they are very expensive to buy. But I don't like Big motor's so much, to overdone. But I still want a v6 :P Doens't sound very logical, does it?
yes that's why american engines last 5 times more mileage than small / super tech ultra compressed engines (wich have almost same fuel consumption of a V8), no joke I am from europe and the amount of "squeezed" modern small engines wich have problems below 100.000km is pretty high...
so maybe the super big aspirated american engine is too extreme on one side, but even a super "pushed" european small engine it's too much on the other side, since reliability then become an issue....
wrong, go out there and test a TSI with 160cv (wich is giving people various degrees of problems in reliability) with this modern 1.4 you can't get more than 12km/l on highway driving (it get worse on city traffic), wich is about the SAME fuel consumption of a 250HP 5.7 TPI chevy small block (the one of the late 80's) the same engine can be still found running around with 200,000 plus miles
so either this 1.4 sucks in reliability and consumption or a late 80's engine "rocks"
I know, it kind of sucks being so limited with options here in America... Of course as far as maintenance goes, is it a bit more expensive than the i5? Also, how about the price difference in the engine itself? I am just curious.
2.0 tdi with a dsg transmisson use 12 sec. from 120 to 160 on 4th gear. 1.4 tsi with dsg transmisson use 8 sec. from 120 to 160 on 4th gear. witch one is faster?
@31arild i have a mitsubishi outlander tdi pd chipped by ralliart with more than 180 hp and it needs 8 sec from 100 to 160 with 4th gear ;) and another 8-9s from 160 to 200 . and it's an 1700+kg suv.. 19 inch rims 243/45-19
@31arild actually this 1.4 tsi takes 10s from 120 to 160 and if u have 2.0 tdi with a good manual transmission and a chip it does 7 s from 120-160 . i know it cuz i have it
this kind of data will tell u exactly nothing,, if tdi has 6 speed and gasoline 5 speed gearbox for example,, both could use 6 speeds and you are getting simple question - gear rates ar not same,, are equal ?:>
i preffer gasoline engines ofer td's but if u have data u should use it honestly
my 2,5l ~180hp 260nm mondeo accelerates almost same,, with manual and 1,5 tonnes empty ;) anyway cheers for vw, this has half the capacity! and do not eat 15-17 litres per 100 ;D
L2Read. He is just saying that the 1.8-2.0L versions doesnt have turbo+supercharger, making them less powerful. That means that your comment is moot, since you thought 1.8 or 2.0 would be more zomgfastaccelerationlol.
Claiming such things?, Are you retarded or what? this is a 1.4 TSI, i just sed why there are only 1.4 video's , i wanna see 1.6-2.0 , Can't u read? SO NOT ONLY 1.6, First read my comment better before claiming such things :)

Ganz richtig Frank.

Are you sure it is 160hp?
As I know, 1.4 TSI is 122, 140 and 150 hp and 1.8 TSI 160 hp.
Unfortunelly, 1.4 TSI is not imported in Ukraine.
Udjin1982 2 years ago
1.4 tsi is 122, 125, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180hp.. The 140 and 170 hp are for the Golf V only. 150 and 180 for the ibiza fr and cupra

@jackish1234 , Who is the one who needs to go away? Learn to shut the fuck up :)

@noobsarechoobs
L2Read. He is just saying that the 1.8-2.0L versions doesnt have turbo+supercharger, making them less powerful. That means that your comment is moot, since you thought 1.8 or 2.0 would be more zomgfastaccelerationlol.
Now go away please.
jackish1234 2 years ago
Claiming such things?, Are you retarded or what? this is a 1.4 TSI, i just sed why there are only 1.4 video's , i wanna see 1.6-2.0 , Can't u read? SO NOT ONLY 1.6, First read my comment better before claiming such things :)

It's DSG-Gearbox (7 Gears) the first 6 Gears are shorter than the Gears in the Normal Gearbox.

nicknamenlos 2 years ago
