What he's playing is straight from the record, maybe if you actually took the time to enjoy the song and actually listened to it you might realize that. Also all he's done is thrown a wah pedal on his guitar to give it that phase-y tone (just like on the record) and it's in key (just like on the record). And they have to cut the last bit short as they are on a television program.
