  • badass truck and sounds really nasty but i thought a turbo 392 hemi stroker in a reg cab short bed truck would go alot faster then a 12.70. i have seen bolt on and cammed stock 5.7 hemi trucks run that..the mph makes me think sumthins wrong because its not makin no power if its only runnin 107mph.

  • @BLACKLACDTS You are right. I was still using the little T60-1 turbo that came with the STS kit and 8" wide tires when the video was made. That turbo is was only rated for 450-500hp. It's now on a 4.0L V12 Jaguar. I haven't made it to the track since my last round of upgrades.

  • @13612 The truck that raced the green GTX was my friend's long box 3/4 ton. I think the green truck won as it was supercharged and much lighter, but I was on the track already and never watched it.

  • hey i live in red deer and have the nearly identical truck except its 4*4 where did you buy this kit and the strocker motor? i have a spare motor from an 07 that i want to build into a strocker.

  • @gixxermill I initially had a STS turbo kit that I had installed myself on the stock engine. SharaDon Performance then built my current 6.4L Hemi and stage III transmission. Then last fall I then built my own turbo setup because the STS kits are sized for stock engines.

  • my crew cab chevy does close to what you run all motor its a lot of money in those rams and they cant hang

  • You should put the tail gate back in. It actually creates less drag believe it or not .cus when the tail gate is up, air starts to circle around inside the truck bed and the air that goes over the roof of the truck floats over the circling air in the bed creating less drag. Supposedly it creates less drag i think i saw them do it on mythbusters or something lol. But anyway your truck is badass. How much psi were you running it at?

  • @Bmac2812 I have the tailgate off because it weighs 55 lbs and I was trying to get my 60ft time down. My fastest time has been with the tailgate and tonneau cover. (more rear weight allowed a full traction launch)

  • I hate my hemi, I keep getting tickets....good thing I don't have anthing that do 12's in a 1/4 mile, I'd be locked up for sure! Nice rig, not so sure about putting a turbo on it though, I'd have kept it strictly stroked.........great job!

  • Air Ram is a distributor for Sharadon's transmissions as are a number of other online stores.

  • Only the 545RFE is going to work in a 1/2 ton truck with a Hemi. I have a Sharadon Performance Stage 3 transmission and stage 3 valvebody. Nobody else builds a re-engineered transmission for these trucks.

  • o ok so u didnt get it from PowerPortedPorformance or HighHorsePerformance they build the 392 and 426 to and then well how does hennessy do it with there 7.0 426 boosted?

  • Sharadon Performance built my engine and transmission. A boosted 426 will run well, but it's not built for long term durability like a proper geometry engine will last. Cubic inches is rather pointless with boost and building a 426 is about bragging rights and nostalgia more than anything.

  • It was a new 6.1 block that was stroked to a 6.4 The durability of a boosted 426 is very questionable because of the extreme connecting rod angles and my builder wouldn't do it.  The new Hemis have thin cylinder walls and cannot be opened up much.

  • Only 8.5" wide drag radials. Unfortunately nobody makes 17" slicks and I am not willing to grind down the rear calipers for 16" wheels.

  • M&H makes wide 17 inch drag radials.275/50,325/45,and 390/40

  • nice truck bro , but i got a homie that ran 11.5 on just heads and cam 6.0 liter

    he drives a 03 chevy 1500 , course he has 4.10's posi , fast intake , a really good tuner , hp tune, and alot more stuff , with nos he broke into the 10's.

    flaco is now running 9.5 in his 05 chevy , ls2 stroked to 114 , running a 250 shot of nos

    chevy has a huge upper hand when it comes to the tuning capabilities

  • The aftermarket for Dodge is slowly getting there. Chevs have a real serious weight advantage in the 1/2 tons as Dodge uses a full boxed frame.

  • oh yea its gonna be on the high way. haha cost me $400 in fuel but she will be road legal. its a sb 350 with a lower comp ratio so i can run more boost of the blower. so u dont really burn that much gas until u have it pinned. but it wont be making it to the track cut i am making a full roll cage and actual moving the cab about 9 inches back and cutting it out of the long bed, then making the front fenders and hood have less of a downward angle making it alittle more boxy like the old c10s.

  • If you plan on installing a fuel cell, you will probably need to stop at every gas station down the road! I even hesitate doing long trips with mine and it still has all the stock creature comforts.

    also ran 285 nitto invo on 19x10 ccws in back...

    im sure you can find some 17 inch drag radials and a cheap pair of rear wheels for the strip.

  • Around 10psi. The turbo is VERY undersized now and can't feed the engine well after 4500rpm.

  • I am trying to keep the boost down to 10psi with no luck. I need a second wastegate. I would guess around 550-600hp limited by the small T60-1 turbo. Stock the engine/transmission will take around 450hp with 6-7psi. Turbos are very tranmission friendly compared to nitrous and superchargers, I had no problems with the original trans.
