  • Beautiful. It was a favorite song of my grandpa's and we sang it at his funeral. Every time I hear it I am brought to tears. Easter service is my favorite because we sing it every year

  • Now this is the melody with which I am familiar having been raised Missouri Synod Lutheran. Nothing equals the majesty of this being played well, and you do a fine job! My grandmother knew every verse by heart, and she taught me to sing proudly and with feeling. Thank you for the memory!

  • I cannot wait to sing this in heaven with legions of angels.

  • Looks like you were really (and I mean REALLY!) "getting into it" on stanza eight. As an organist-in-training, I know the feeling...

Wonderful singing, wonderful playing! Christus resurrexit!

  • Haha the trumpeter was thinking William Tell Finale at the beginning, but he eventually fell into beat. But hey, its not about the music sounds, its about how the music and our worship pleases God ; )

    Sound great!

  • I love this hymn!! As a life long Lutheran I take great comfort from it. It was great to see you utilize the ENTIRE organ on this all three manuals and pedals. One comment a soprano descant on the 8th verse would have really raised the roof further off the building. (not that you hadn't achieved it already) I was raised LCMS and am now ECLA. In my current church we do this hymn several times a year. Heck I'd like to do it every Sunday!!!

  • I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (May 2), we sang this as the opening hymn. It is #619 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship. It was also sung at my father's funeral 35 years ago.

  • seriously, just listened 3 times in a row; what a gift you have. that intro is the best i have ever heard.

  • YES..... finally the TUNE I LOVE.... if this hymn doesnt rock your soul, you're missing out on Christianity at its finest.

  • Buona tecnica strumentale e grande musicalità. Bravo! 5*

  • The music and it's message, both are awesome. Thanks!

  • Excellent job. The trumpet was Ok too. Trumpets usually sound better in person than on recordings. The organ was great however!

  • Excellent job Larry! The horn was obnoxious! Your congregation can sure sing, too.

  • BTW,is this a Lutheran church?Don't know any other churches that the congregation really SINGS.

  • Thank you ! Yes, we are Lutheran and my congregation sings better than any I have ever had the pleasure to play for.

  • FINALLY,The tune I recognize! This is just stunning and your intro gave me chills!
