@mrKeverfreak why would it be a waste of cars???? these cars are old not safe for the streets, and its better than leaving them to rot, and be hazzardous to the environment.
its true you should go and watch one before you enter, i watched a couple of the annual derbies and figured i'd never enter because my parents and i didn't have a car, then this winter my boss hade a 92 plymouth acclaim, and she said i could have it as long as i derbied it, so i toke it and my parents let me and i ended up winning my first time because i hade a faster car because mine was the only one that ran right
nice vid man.. we smash our cars going round an oval circuit here in a the uk so its a kinda rsce, but this last man standing stuff looks pretty cool would love to have a go at it!!
wow that is alot of work for a derby. when i do them here in MA we just take a car pretty much off the street, as long as it runs its good. obviously you are runnign modifieds, i liek stock myslef, seems just a little more "fair" in my opinion, but i also dont have the time or money to do all the work for a modified. great vidoe man.
Thats a decent weld job...car didnt even bend...u need sum1 like dangerous dave #4 run it he would probly do a proper job on fukin it up...put his drive line in it would help
I have my own good motors that way it dont matter how it runs or if it even has an engine. That was a lot of time spent on a Caddy that more often than not will end up plowing dirt...
Beleave or not, this car has ran 6 shows now and it is ready for another. Notching the trunk and frame will make the rear bend the direction that you want them too, not the way they want too.
74-76 caddys are killer cars when welded right. Type in- Git Some Pink On Ya! - watch the pink caddy tear some chit up :) I dont know why people cant figure it out??? I could tell you where talking about new comers getting started in the sport the first time I watched this. . . . anyways, nice job on the video. you should come up north sometime! (nor cal)
I did get lucky, Any body who wins is lucky. The reason for the comment in the video was for the person going out his/her very first time. If your first show was in a Cordoba that just screamed, you would have had a GREAT time. If you were in the same car that was missing on 2 cylinder and overheated you would maybe have been disappointed and never tried again. THAT IS WHY I SAID FIND A CAR THAT RUNS REALLY WELL!!! lol, how stupid people who can not pay attention amaze me!!!!!!!!
Well if you are going to go ahead and weld the entire fucking car then why dont you take 5 extra minutes to change the motor instead of only looking for cars "that run good" Champion my ass
@Schrodt712002 I wrote that when I was like 16... but the most Ive ever spent on a derby car is 400. I hate the 10.000 dollar people... Im a stock throw back kind of guy,
@actonredneck1 I'll agree with ya!! U can' build a pretty hard car for $400-$500. The one's I do complain about is the ones with a drivetrain i'd put in a Dirt Track Stock Car. Some people do get extremely carried away!! But u and I are alike, we build on a low budget!!
yes, it still is a waste of nice cars because most of the cars are still perfectly restorable
