  • Finally was able to pick mine up yesterday. Will be going out today to put some rounds through it. This will be my EDC once I get my CCW. I chose this gun because, as a woman, I wanted something small that would easily conceal under my clothes and not be heavy.

  • Just bought one today. Here in Florida we have a 3 business day wait period, so I get to pick it up next Wednesday. I'm excited to get it on the range. I know you don't like it, but this will be my "pocket pistol" just as soon as my CWP paperwork comes back.

  • love my ruger lcp .380 !

  • @kenntenn be sure and get the mag extention

  • Please do a tabletop review on this.

  • @ipoddish He did, its called "The Ruger LCP pistol:Undercover Cool"

  • Want to get a .380 but don't know which one to get , a Ruger or Kel Tec ?

  • @GodOfWar5341 6 To one, half a dozen to the other.

  • @GodOfWar5341

I have the Ruger. Went through more rounds at the firing range than I'll ever count. Never a single issue.

  • Awesome review, mate! Thanks for the details in the vid description, too. Very helpful for someone who is a new carry permit holder.

  • How did you shoot so well with no sights??

  • @timmy101able It has sights, just tiny ones.

  • There is no dead center out of four.

  • @tearsforthesheep Dead center of the target, not out of the four obviously.

  • Haha. Hes all geared up for this video...

  • just got mine today thanks in part to this vid keep em coming

  • Comment removed

  • I have had one for about 6 months and love it put 400 round thru it and did have some issues in the first 50 but now I trust that it will fire if I ever needed it. Great buy for 335 in od green... Get one!

  • I'm very pleased with mine. Had some stovepiping / fte in the first 50 rounds or so with Remington fmj flat nose, but I took it home and cleaned out the gunk, and lubed it up real good. Getting pretty accurate performance at our 15yard range.

  • wow 3 yards!

  • @ngDetecter : quick being so quick to criticize. He said "..shooting at about EIGHT (8) yards."

  • @pcollenYT dont make fun of me i thought it was 3 yards, gosh...

  • Got one of these a month ago. Powerful and right on target.

  • Going to go pick up mine this evening

  • what is wrong with his nails? i cant see anything

  • Good 2 hear, I bought one in June, but still haven't shot it yet.

  • Another great job Nutnfancy! I have one because of this video. I carry it as a back-up to my duty weapon. I painted the front sight with some of my wifes white nail polish (Shhh! she doesn't know) and it helps the sight picture. Keep up the good work!

P.S. When are we going to see Veri out shooting?

  • Thanxxx for showing the rapid fire sequence in your reveiw, been lookin for a video that showed this of the lcp!

  • I have only been a gun owner and shooter for about 7 months and I love my lcp(in od green) I have had no problems with mine. 300 rounds so far and can hit very confident at 20 feet

  • Wow. So frustrated. Have spent a lot of time at the range with my LCP and can barely hit the paper at 7 yards, but regularly hit bulls eye with my Sig p226 and Taurus 24/7.

  • @moshker hmmm. my LCP is accurate for me. i also have the sig p238 and love it. the p238 is a very very very accurate pocket pistol. maybe you should consider switching to that if you can't resolve your problem with the LCP

  • @moshker I agree with 88, my lcp is very very accurate. I can hit plates at 25 yards without a problem.

  • @moshker I agree. I'm new to this whole double action only pocket pistol thing. I have a Kel-Tec and I can hit a rabbit at 50 yards with my HK USP .45 or my Ruger New Vaquero .45 Colt, but I can't hit crap with this pocket pistol. The only time I shoot good with it is if I ONLY shoot that gun at a shooting session. Then I can warm up to it. But if I take all or some of my pistols then I do horribly with the Kel-Tec. It's the trigger. I wish they made it double/single action.

  • @itsamemario333 I'm looking for a replacement I think. If I only shoot the Ruger it's accurate enough, but if I shoot my Taurus 24/7 Pro compact or my Sig p226... or I only shoot the Ruger intermittently (if it's been more than a few days) then my groups are ... not groups. I'm going to rent some pistols at the range and see what I like. Going to try a Kahr PM9, Taurus PT709, PT111, S&W MP9 compact, and maybe some 357 snubbies.

  • @moshker I hear ya. I would love to have a Ruger LCR. I'm infatuated with that gun right now. I would get the .38 special though. Because it is able to shoot +P ammo and with a .357 you need at least a 4 inch barrel for the powder to burn through and actually deliver more of a punch than a .38 spl. So in a 2 inch barrel or so a .357 magnum is a .38 spl. That little revolver is a cool little piece in my opinion. I would trade my P32 plus cash but not a lot of people have them around here.

  • Got mine about a year ago. I'm pretty new to shooting but it's by far the best pistol I've fired. Love the small frame on it bcz it's a perfect everyday carry pistol. Under a suit jacket or a t shirt, either way it's sweet!

  • i love how he pulls it out of an AR mag pouch

  • This is my dads and aunts carry gun and it's amazing accurate. Just about the best carry gun ever

  • I just bought this beuty in the talo chrome slide,,LOVE this gun,,,thanks for your great review!

  • im trying to figure out a way to mask off the sights so i can put a lil true glow on em. The sights are horrible, on par with an 1836 colt patterson revolver, but overall it shoots pretty darn good.

  • Does the lcp lock open when it's empty?

  • @tubevideoguy762 no it doesnt lock open after last round. i ususally count rounds remaining on mine

  • @h8rzhate

oh, wonder which .380 pocket autos do I know the taurus tcp locks open, and the kahr p380, the keltec does not, no idea about others like the diamond back, micro eagle, naa guardian, ........ sooooo many pocket 380s out there, sometime i'll probably be buying a tcp, i like the slide lock, the feel and mostly the price when compared to others like the kahr and sig

  • @tubevideoguy762 i think sig has a pocket 380 that stays open after last round. everything looks great on it except the price. thats why im happy with my lcp

  • @h8rzhate

right sigs are expensive that why i'll probably buy a taurus. cheap, good quality and lock open feature

  • Hello, great review! Can you please let me me know the make, type and model of the vest you have on so l can order one. Thank you.

  • I can't believe that people are dumb enough to cry about the sights when that not something you will really using with this gun

  • sometimes its hard to carry something bigger because it wont be concealed and the size of the lcp is perfect

  • When inserting the magazine into the gun 1 out of 5 times the insertion would cause the slide to snap shut

    any thoughts on this?

    thanks

  • @kiddyuknot I do the same thing with my dad's Taurus PT 24/7 pro .40 cal, I found out that I was slamming the magazine into the gun pretty hard, so try to insert the mag a lil easier. Hopefully it works for you bro.

  • @Titanium181991

    thanks

pros and cons of leaving the slide open

    pros:

    extra measure of safety

    cons

just another action needed when you might be in trouble

    whats your take

  • @kiddyuknot yeah I feel the same way

  • How many rounds are in that gun per clip?

  • God I hate this gun lol I shot my grandmothers and the sights on it suck

  • I can't hit anything with mine! My grouping at 15 ft. is all over the target. I think it's the low all black sights that suck. It could be me but I'm a good shot with my other full size pistols. I guess i'm going to have to paint the sights.

  • I just bought one today ruger lcp .380 brand new ad it shoots very well.its also good for personal protection

  • lol right when you hold up the pistol, u can see day light through the gap between the slide and frame....nice

  • ok...............^_^

  • Thanks for the fun review.

  • /watch?v=VxVer9byr48&feature=related

  • can anyone link me to the table top of that??

  • whats up RAMBO!

  • Weird. I just had this video (YEARS OLD now...) pop up in my subscriptions. I'm watching it and thinking "Did Nutn just remember to upload an old vid?" and then I noticed the date! Hahah...

  • I've always shot Expert on any gun range with S & W 's.36, 10, .39, .59. 629, and Colt 1911. I bought two of these Ruger LCP's...one for me and one for my wife. I fired 100 round through each pistol with the target set 30 feet away. At 30 feet, the rounds struck 6-8 inches low with both Ruger LCP's? I experimented with Weaver two hand shooting while resting my grip on the counter of the range for solid stability. Made no difference. Both these guns shoot 6-8 inches low on average?

  • im 22 and im a new ccw carrier and i bought this gun for my first weapon cause i thought i would carry it all the time.... and i do :) my question is does nutn suggest that i carry and extra mag? sorry if its already been asked ty love what you guys do

  • @mrcowboy188 im not Nutnfancy, but you should, i mean, if you carry everyday without a mag, thats a good start, but its always good to have some extra ammo if shit hits the fan, just saying! ;)

  • What an awesome little weapon.

  • I was gonna pick one up till i saw it in person. It is so small i dont want it LOL. this thing is smaller than my walllet. toooo small LOL

  • We need to see a Rugar LC 9 comparison. please.

  • God that looks JUST LIKE the old kel tec .380. dang....

  • why is he wearing camouflage?

  • I love the multicam camo! :)

  • Got one ater seeing this review .... Thanks Nutn!

  • Got on ater seeing this review .... Thanks Nutn!

  • It's not accurate if you're standing right under the target's ass.

  • Any tips about shooting small guns like that? My mom has one and when I shoot it, it seems like unless I'm 5 feet away I have trouble hitting what I want to hit.

  • @xmanhockey7

The real question is how does your mom do with it? My wife carries one in her purse and had to go to CCW class. They require 100% accuracy per clip at a 7-meter target to pass. That's considerably more than five feet, so your answer is to practice, practice, practice. My wife had to, and you can too.

  • @TheHeenow Well when I get my CPL I would like to get a pocket pistol as a back-up or something to have in case I'm just going to the store or something so I'm trying to get good with it now.

  • @xmanhockey7 You're probably wanting Nutnfancy's input, not mine but maybe I can help: I just bought this gun a few weeks back and initially had the same problem as you (still kinda do). The biggest problem for me is getting used to the long double action only trigger pull. I've practiced a decent amount at the range making a smooth trigger pull. You can even practice at home with an empty gun (using good gun safety of course making sure it's not loaded). Practice, practice, practice!

  • "I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people...To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them." -George Mason, during Virginia's ratification convention, 1788

  • 1.71 people are murdered an hour.

12.5-285.3 people defend themselves an hour.

The arbitration system we have has much more to do with the murder rate than firearms. If you only criminalize coercive acts and legalize all voluntary acts the crime rate would go down as much as is humanly possible.

  • So I picked up a new one of these last night, and had a chance to put some rounds through it today.

The loading ramp could use some work. With both FMJ and HP, chambering the first round had a 50-75% jam rate. Subsequent rounds loaded without error when using FMJ. Federal reduced recoil hollow points jammed on the 2nd shot twice in a row (6+1 loading).

This may be because the gun is brand new, and needs some break-in time, but 150 rounds isn't enough.

  • It's also difficult to shoot if you have large hands. I have to use the pad of my finger (awkward) to fire it, my finger is just long enough so it's nearly impossible to fire with the 2nd knuckle.

I also have a Crimson Trace laser for it, which I *highly* recommend. Note that their design is uncomfortable to your finger in the trigger guard.

Lots of downsides, but it's upsides make up for all of them. It's extremely tiny, light, and accurate. Significant comfort/function tradeoffs though.

  • Jeff - You gotta take these things apart and polish them real good. That's the deal with both Ruger and KelTec in this 380... Then run a 100 rounds plus of FMJ through them to make surfaces slick or till it does not jam. Then switch over to your CorBon or DoubleTap JHP.

  • Any word on preferred ammo?

  • @JeffreyRodriguez : Jeff I found Remington 88 GR. JHP 380 Auto 100 Count Value Pack ammo at Wally World at .32 a pop. Corbon/Glaser Blue Safety is the best home deffense. DoubleTap JHP is a great hot round for penitration.

  • Jeff - Also get clip extenders, adds one round and a second finger hold. Crimson Trace is a must, try going to Big Supply Shop cost me $150 at my door. Also a Wolf #14 eject spring will keep your brass closer as these LCP's toss them a long way.

  • alot of recoil for that size weapon:P

  • @Thehoagie99 The weight makes it have that much recoil. It weighs less than 10 oz, so nothing but your hand absorbs the shock. A heavier pistol of the same caliber, such as the Walther PPK will have much less recoil. I recently purchased an LCP, and it is an absolute dream to carry.. you have to actually remember you have it on you, because you literally don't notice it. I would suggest a heavier gun for a lady with a purse, however, such as the Walther, because the LCP kicks like a mule.

  • I loved your reviews on this and the S&W 340, so I bought both. I ended up selling the LCP a month ago as after many range trips and days of carrying, I prefer the Smith in every way. Different strokes for different folks I guess, but I find the Smith much more accurate and the sight acquisition is easier/faster

  • Thanks for ALL of your awesome videos. Those of us that are new to handguns, appreciate learning from the more experienced, like yourself.

I just shot my Ruger LCP for the first time (right out of the box) last weekend, and was amazed at how precise it really is. It will definitely be my choice for conceal and carry.

  • whats the weight for that gun?

  • @JrRoyals15 Perhaps you should look at the description first before you post?

  • @ManyDeserts ahh good point, soory... and thank u sir

  • @JrRoyals15 9.4 oz. empty

  • Hey nutnfancy, can you do a review on the diamond back db380 sometime? Thanks again for all the great info and hard work.

  • Boy, you need to get your nails done!

  • @Nimbly LOL I agree! He won't, though. -- Veri

  • @Nimbly

    who cares dude...

    your watching the gun remember

  • i just got my home/range permit and i was considering this gun. this was a great review but certain things concerned me being that im new to firearms. what do you think is a good beginners weapon?

  • @blackjesus1026 Great carry weapon for close range shooting. I have had mine for about 2 years no problems carry every day.

  • @blackjesus1026 Little guns like this are going to have a sharp recoil. They are meant to be used to protect yourself if your life is in danger, not for a lot of target shooting. They are small and conceal well. If you're looking for a gun to carry concealed get one like this then get a second handgun for target practice. If you want a handgun strictly to keep in your home for home defense go with a high capacity 9mm/.45.

  • @tchick The LCP recoil is not stout at all. It's a little bit snappy only because you can't get your pinkie on it. With a grip extender it's nothing, and even without you can squeeze off all 6 shots pretty quickly and hit center of mass at 7 yards

  • @skyline44512 I agree with you. I have a S&W 640 and think it's a fine shooter but others say it's a handful.

  • @tchick how about the 'judge" great for home defense .410 buckshot or .45LC or both chambered together. Then add tactical light and bingo.

  • @DannyWilsonsLaundry I don't have any experience with the Taurus Judge. It does look like it would be good for home defense but I haven't researched it enough. I think it would make a great snake gun. A friend of mine uses a .410 shotgun to shoot rattle snakes so the Judge looks like it would be good for that also.

  • Danny- Look at Winchester PDX1 in 410. Three plated Defense Disc projectiles and 12 pellets of plated BB shot. Great home deffense!

  • @tchick If you want a gun to defend yourself why not just go with a 9mm/.45 and conceal that for defense. The only problem I can imagine is trouble on the shooters part to conceal it or take the weight.

  • @BeyondtheChaos1 I have a variety of handguns I use for myself. The main problem I have is I live in a warm climate, t-shirt weather, and it makes concealing a big gun difficult.

  • @tchick I live in southern Texas so the temp. and weather has a lot of variety year around. I think I get what you mean about concealing in hot weather though so I guess that would be an advantage for a smaller weapon. I myself would rather risk my gun being noticed over not having one that gets the job done to my standards.

  • Excellent shooting with this small a pistol. I did not thing the LCP had the ability to group as well as it did at 8 yards.

  • Moron's worried about what the man is WEARING??? Wud u gonna comment on next - his freak'n MANICURE???

  • @johnnyghee I've seen his hands in many videos. I think he should leave the gun business and be a hand model full time.

  • @johnnyghee LOL go johnny! Love your comment. And we HAVE had many, many people comment on his lack of manicure... :D -- Veri

  • @johnnyghee I'm not going to criticize what he is wearing, but I sure am curious.

Wondering why he is always wearing Tacticool clothing, why not shoot in something more casual something comfortable ?

  • @Socomnick nutnfancy will tell you him self hes shoots in this stuff because thats what he would use in a real world situation and because that stuff is useful, its appropriate for what he feels he needs

  • @johnnyghee Dude, I was totally gonna comment on this guy's manicure and now you stole my thunder.

  • LIKE IT FOR A BACK UP.nice

  • Sorry for the off topic question but i cannot seem to get it out of my head. There was a brand of guns I heard of that many people say are worthless pieces of junk and I remember it started with an N and they mainly made very cheap handguns that are used a lot by criminals. Can anybody help me out?

  • @tubevideoguy762 Although it doesn't start with N, HiPoint is a craptastic "Saturday night special" brand.

  • @jedwardc1982 Yeah for sure, I've heard that a lot and even rented a hi-point from a gun range and had it jam 1 out of 4 rounds. For some reason a company with the beginning letter N is stuck in my head. Maybe norcin?

  • do you get a warranty when you buy this gun?

  • The Ones Talking Smack probably dont even have a firearm. Nutnfancy thank you for all of your reviews.

Airsoft Guys Report to your Forums LoL!

  • @ross0the0man He's a gear tester...duh. He has to wear it or use it to test it. -- Veri (Nutn's sister)

  • @nutnfancy It's a bit like new Harley riders who suddenly have a closet full of black tee shirts, head scarfs, bucked black boots, and a brand new tattoo. It's a fashion show. Their mind tells them to look the part. ;D

  • @nutnfancy apparently the Mrs., sorry, sister, defends this guy and speaks for him. and no, he does NOT need multi cam and a MOLLE vest to shoot a damn LCP. they're called "gear queers"

  • @nutnfancy Let me see if I can kind of paraphrase a reply to ross0the0man's useless & uninformed comment above..."Why do these people feel the need to butt in & make clueless comments about things they obviously know nothing about? They just CAN NOT seem to get it, got big mouth but got no brain!" There...I think that covers it pretty well.

  • @wrght9185 Hehe..that pretty much covers it. ;0)

  • @ross0the0man relax troll

  • @ericsyutubeaccount

why are you calln me a troll dude?

  • @ross0the0man-LMAO nice one mate

  • @ross0the0man what she said, that and im pretty sure those are tac clothes so they have specific pockets and what not for magazines and stuff for all your shooting gear

  • @ross0the0man your comment is so stupid, its clearly 7 1/2 feet.

  • @Ronald3570 My bad. I got bad judgment when it comes is distance lol.

  • @ross0the0man lol i was being totally sarcastic.

  • @Ronald3570 Heck I could shoot this 100 YARDS AND PUT THEM UNDER A DIME. naaaaa just being extra silly. I guess this pistol would make a great one for the house close corners. I am so used to the old 45. I guess I better read more.Looking at Rugers 9mm and other makes not sure really. Had 45 in the ARMY for 7 years. OLD COLT.Love the 9mm

  • Does this guy know just how ironic his name is? He seems like a pretty fancy dude.

  • nutnfancy is a gear queer

  • u can get them on tha street for 50$

  • I just picked one up an hour ago for $260.00 as well, I cant wait to get to the range and do some practice shooting! I was toying with the thought of getting a "Snake -Slayer" but the thought of only two rounds was just too big of a draw back for me when considering a conceal carry weapon.

  • Mr Nutnfancy, you are looking chunky compared to your more fit appearence. I would say, keep up the hussle, the heart rate, eat right, kick the High Fructose corn sugar (it's addictive and doesn't break down like natural sugar) and continue with the great video's dude!

  • @MrHardPressed This vid was filmed 2009..he's lost 35 lbs since then, and he's really changed his eating habits to a great degree.

  • @Verilioness With that being said, I'd like to so MrHardPressed's BMI, LOL

  • @TheTNPTROLLKILLER *high five* =)

  • Governor Rick Perry of Texas wasted a coyote with one of these last year while he was out "jogging" last year. The reason I have jogging in quotes is that everybody knows "jogging" is his code word for trolling for sodomy in wooded areas.

  • I bought this gun today, I couldnt pass it up... It was on sale for $260.00 at a gun shop here... I hate the small sights on it,so I droped another $175.00 on the Crimson Trace system which the shop also had!!! I own a few guns with Crimson Trace, and this one activates laser better, and I like the position of the laser!!! For anyone that buy this gun, the Crimson Trace is a must have!!!

  • My buddy just bought one and he says the hammer pull is way obnoxious. This a valid statement?

  • Cute gun.

  • Thinking hard about getting one of these puppies in OD Green.

  • People here on YouTube are so ignorant the man is just helping to responsible people the pros-cons of guns. I have it & I love it not one jam after 100 shots nut&fancy keep up the good work don't pay attention to all these fucking ignorants that only carry bb guns jajaja bb guns...... peace fuckers

  • You don't need two hands to shoot a pocket pistol. What's all that stuff you're wearing. Haw, haw. . haw!

  • wow what a pussy... only pussies use ear covers when firing handguns... pussy...

  • @rec0nflamer223 haha lol most randomest comment ever, i cracked up so hard when i saw ur comment LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

  • @rec0nflamer223 Huh?! What?! I can't hear you! Speak louder! Stop mumbling! Speak up! What did you say?!

These are the typical responses from rec0nflamer223, during a casual conversation.

  • @rec0nflamer223 Haha, you wont post this comment when youre 60, i can tell you that much.

  • it doesnt look right in tall and big people's hands...

  • He looks like he is only standing 10 ft away..

  • @Papparazz0 You need to get your eyes checked.

  • @Kylef7735

    20/20 vision cheers mate.

    Hows yours.

  • @Kylef7735

By the way I know you might not get this , its called irony, look it up in a book.

  • @Papparazz0 Were you being sarcastic or what? Cause hes not standing 10ft away.

  • is this new mexico?

  • @8755987 Does it matter what state the review is done in?

  • @Kylef7735 it looks lik a place down the street from my house.

  • @8755987 Hahahahahahahahahahahhaha

  • @Kylef7735 whats funny?

  • @8755987 Its the middle of nowhere.

  • I've fired two different lcps before and they both jammed within the first 10 shots. Very upsetting. I had the exact opposite experience than you did nutn.... I heard there was a recall on these for something though, maybe, I got bad ones.

  • @tjby54

exact opposite as in, i find them being very inaccurate. But then, I guess I haven't put more than maybe 50 rounds thru them.

  • @tjby54 That's a shame they jammed. The recall was a couple years back and if I remember right it was because if the gun was dropped on the ground while it was loaded it could possibly discharge

  • 3 quiestion fi any owned could response:

    1)how much?

    2)is it secure?

    3) can a shy woman with the most basic training in fire arms shot this aficiently?

i know the last one its a little bit wide but i want to hear experiences with the psitol

  • @curseofa5r5a They average 300.00 and 159.00 for a laser make the gun fantastic in any self defense situation (e-bay ) . Not sure what you mean by secure. it jumps in you hand, yes as any small gun with a stout round. And yes can you shoot it efficiently. Training is every thing, any indoor range will rent them try it out I bought mine and it rocks. Small and in a “in the pants” holster from ace holsters (10.00) is soft and well made ( cheaper then dirt. Com) carry all the time, love it

  • @barstoolguru thanks mate i just realized this model ws aviable in my country and a friend of mine want one of these for self defense, what i mean for secure its if you can carry it safely, without risk of accidental fire

  • @barstoolguru the finger grip mags add ons helps
