should be careful making such proposals, surprisingly a lot of people have entirely too many reasons to justify the killing of babies. Racism, religion, intellectual cleansing, population control, and sadly just for fun are all examples of actual reasons "SOME" people would literally kill babies. Personally, I don't think i could kill a baby, but I am well aware of my inclination to kill other adults; and it is something we should all constantly monitor in all of our major decisions.
well none of these issues (abortion, age of accountability, etc.) were issues at the time of the bible. How could the bible have predicted the emergence of such issues? It would have been strategically beneficial if the writer of the bible had left some things even vaguer or open to the possibility of some influence to change them. Funny thing about the bible is there is no time between now and revelations, where a new prophet, or any other occurrence will change christian beliefs.
age of acountablity exixt in islam...why don't you check that! don't imediately pop out your prejeduice ...if you are looking for science check out what it says...i'm sure you will find an answer to all your questions
How is that worse, how can you equate a conscious human being to a clump of cells? And how are babies sacrificed to satan? sacrifice denotes giving up something of value to a being in reverence. How can you sacrifice something which has no value to a being you do not believe in?
Just because YOU place no value on life and YOU do not believe Satan exists, does NOT mean life has no value, nor does it mean Satan is not a real being.
Because YOU place value on all life, than you have no right to eat meat, vegetables or wear anything that was made by killing an animal.
Burden of proof, if you can assert the claim of the existence of satan without evidence, than I can dismiss it's existence without evidence just as easily.
Wow, so you do admit the bible is vague. Doesn't that kind of hurt the divine inspiration of the bible? Shouldn't a book that is guided by god be able to consistently answer all the questions in life without room for interpretation. I mean what kind of god would let salvation rest in fallible human hands?
Oh and I'm for the super abortion clinic, provided it occurs within the first trimester, that sounds like an effective way to stock pile stemcells.
The first trimester is important because that is before it can feel pain, and long before it is conscious.
But yeah, If you are saying that god has given us consistent morality, he has done a crappy job. Because we don't have consensus on what is right and wrong. In the bible you will find people endorsing slavery. Now you may say that it's wrong, but that's only how you feel, they obviously felt different back then. And it's not like god spoke out against it, that is passively condoning it.
Yes, YES! You've got the idea! We need BABY HARVESTING! Then we can all live out that great movie "The Matrix"! I mean, if the machines are gonna take over someday anyway, let's give 'em a little head start!
Think about it...you're actually promoting that idea..planting and harvesting baby parts!
Well doesn't the fact that I don't see things the same way as you prove we don't have the same moral code written on our hearts.
I'm not sure where you got the idea that stem cell research would lead to an AI revolution, but can you give a rational argument against what I propose?
Yes Kyberspawn, the Bible is unclear about MANY things, including what color of shoes you should wear.
So, by your logic, since the Bible doesn't speak CLEARLY on the topic of shoes, it's wrong for ANYONE to have a favorite shoe color, or maybe even to wear shoes at all.
Oh, and the Bible also does NOT say it's ok for you to comment on my videos, yet it happens...so I guess we should just throw out the Bible, since it doesn't speak clearly on EVERY issue known to man.
It need not discuss every issue, but everything that has to do with salvation would be nice. There is somewhere in levidicus I think where it says not to where clothing of mixed fibers. The Bible fails to mention many things of moral importance, like pedofelia or slave ownership, shouldn't god try to contend these things?
*Dan claps*. Thanks Lon. Great responce. Definately the best I've heard on this issue.
1)Ambiguity - Agreed. Becasue no-one can be sure of the afterlife destination of the unborn or very young it makes abortions bad risk, to say the least. Strange, the lack of clarity can make things clear!
2)Raw conscience - You asked the question did I think it was right to "conceive just to abort". (might I also add you attended this question very respectfully, which I appricate)-
Answer : It's a blood awful idea!
So that was a great bit of communication Lon. A simple clear answer.
Thanks for your comments Dan. As always, after I was done I remembered another thing or two that I forgot to say, but I got my main ideas out.
I am a conservative person...not prone to taking risks, so one other point I had was that since we don't KNOW what happens to unborn children, we should err on the side of caution.
I also think that atheists should be the MOST pro-life people on the planet. I mean, if this life is all there is, then abortion is robbing people of their ONLY existence.
Great video response Thorzon. It does seem odd that atheists who do like to say "this is our only life, so it is more valuable" could even come up with a twisted idea of killing babies for Heaven.
Oh I can answer that one. Lets say that science proved christianity was correct. That every word in the bible was correct. That jesus was real and had magical powers, and that everything was copied word for word. Than it would make sense that we kill all children before they can sin, and produce no more children afterwards, that way as few people as possible have to go to hell.
I think the fact that god is willing to torture his children, nevermind abort them, would be the origin of this "twisted" idea. No more twisted then your god, Sable. :)
I can't speak for other atheists, but it's not life I value, it's consciousness. A human fetus in the first trimester is no more conscious than bacteria, or a tree, and we have no problem killing them.
Kyberspawn, that last comment was so cold, and all you are doing at this point is showing us how heardened your heart has become. To call a human fetus is not even scientific or rational.
You say you value consciousnes, not life...but please tell me how it is possible to have consciousness without being allowed to have life? Killing a fetus is depriving it of it's consciousness, even by your own standards. Who are YOU to decide who may or may not be allowed to obtain consciousness?
There is a difference between consciousness, and potential consciousness. For example, every second you are not impregnating a woman, you are preventing a potential consciousness. Let's say you could have in a time span you could have had 100 children, if you didn't than you just killed 100 people.
thats coz the bible is full of shit and people can kill babies .. fucking hell we kill each other in wars!!
mad or wat ohh babies awww yea and u shot in a iraq ! bonkers

So far 43 million babies have been sacrificed
to Satan in American this worse than Joseph Mengele in Nazi Germany WW2.

Heh...well Kyber, if nothing else, your MISunderstanding of Christianity is very thorough.

Yeah, when you can't attack the idea, attack the individual, that seems to be what christians do.

Another good responce was from Knowledgeless777. He said simply ...
"My God is bigger than that, My god dosen't burn babies" - Felt good to hear that.
