If I am not mistaken the Greeks and Greece took in alot of Albanians over the past 15 years leagally and illegally the came some honest but some stole robbed hurt people take Euros and now go back......STAY THERE!!!!!!!!!

Very nice! Im Trikalian myself. There r many ways of dancing Γκαραγκούνα..Its up to the time of life..This one is very mirthful, danced by teens..Not traditional indeed but still very greek and nice..Mr adiamandi, stop putting a slight on Greeks.Vlach and Garagouni (kara junan= pure Ionians greeks)THEY R ALL GREEKS.I AM KARAGOUNA, MY HUSBAND IS VLACH.Same RASEEEEE.All GREEEKS.
Vlachs, Caragouns, Cupaciari, Sarakatsanoi are a different race from Greeks. The music is different . The Vlachs are a nordic race while the Greeks are a mediteranean one with many Gipsy imports back from the time of Yunanistan.
so so so wrong...!!!!! wrong music, wrong dancing way, everything is wrong. i am from trikala thessalias and ecpesially from a village in which karagouna "is born"... this has nothing to do with the true karagouna, and they, who say diffirent have no idea of what dancing means. sorry guys...
@papageno1969 /watch?v=IHlz_1dS7v0 (add this after ".com") -> no swinging of arms, steady graceful steps, proud posture. One of the traditional Karagkouna variations. It's not a question of "right" or "wrong", the point is, is it danced in a traditional way? And the dance in almonaki's video is not a traditional Karagkouna. It's some kind of Greek pop choreography. Please remove this video at last and ask a dance teacher who knows about dances from Thessaly to come and teach you

Karagouni is the name of lowland Vlachs of Greece and this is 101% a Romanian dance. Greeks have little folclore of their own, probably because Greeks of today are mostly Albanians, Vlachs, Bulgarians, Turks, Egyptians . And that is not an exageration.
I understand you are from Cyprus, but whoever is teaching you these dances have them do further investigation.
When I dance Cypriot dances, I learn from an instructor with a well known paradosikon educated background or basically from the giagiades and papoodes...
