  • @thepandadan Well Handsome Boy Modeling School does consist of Dan the Automator. I'm sure him and Prince Paul produced this together.

  • DEL forever mutha fuckas.

  • Man I seen kids on/sellings drugs, stabbing/shooting each other, kids having kids.

I seen kids being prostituted by their own families.

I seen a guy travel 2 weeks on foot to find medicine for his baby who died just before he got back, he carried his baby out in a carboard box.

People willfully ignorant, only concerned with having the latest fashionable item, no clue of the exploitation behind the labels or shiny things.

    WTF is going on!!!

  • its just a world gone mad. some day we'll awake from our slumber, may it be to late i dont know.

  • What up Fam?

  • del's a beast

  • 2:23 holy shit is that alton brown?

  • It sure looks like Alton but I don't think its him.

  • Another group that broke up because of money...a shame in this case as they managed to cross music genres so easily with who they worked with...

  • @MiseducatedPup they seriously broke up cause of money?

  • @uberari: During the making of 'White People', Dan and Paul were not getting on, with Paul citing in an interview: "It's done, that's it. It was business things. Things that needed to be addressed weren't addressed...When I announced my retirement, that was it. He didn't call me...the Handsome Boy manager didn't call. Either they hate my guts, or it just didn't work out." BTW, to whoever gave my previous comment a thumbs down, please explain as to why!

  • @MiseducatedPup very ironic

  • @uberari: How so?

  • @MiseducatedPup they made fun of the upper class XD.

  • @uberari: funny that, the origin of Handsome Boy Modelling School came from an episode of 'Get a Life' where the lead character tries to become a male model. Dan and Paul poke fun at the superficial end of society, including the upper class but also the transparent careers of society, including modelling (vanity) and others involved in the entertainment industry.

  • You know what you're talking about here.

  • @MiseducatedPup

they'll get back together. shit was too classy and handsome for it to be gone and done forever.

  • @AudioInklined: Well until Dan and Paul can agree on the superficial aspect of money, the Modelling School will not be opening any time soon. I moved on to Strange Fruit Project, Pete Rock & InI, One Be Lo and Sky Zoo & 9th Wonder. Just hope these two can get back together and sort out any bad feelings, cause no-one wants another Guru/DJ Premier situation EVER again.

  • @MiseducatedPup

well, I know I like 9th and his work with Murs, so i will check out the other proj. you mention.

and as far as guru and premier, I totally agree, I couldn't agree more in fact.

  • @AudioInklined: Really that is a comment to everyone who either believes hip-hop is dead or dying. The DJ's and M.C's are out there, you just got to go out there, read magazines like MixMag and XXL, go on youtube look @ one major artist then on the related items he will colaberate with other artists so listen to their stuff, go on the online shopping sites and look up the artists that fall into the hip-hop and listen to the 15 second previews...but importantly buy the albums to keep them going.

  • @MiseducatedPup

Anymore, someone who wants to experience "real" Hip-Hop should try to find a solid label to support. Definitive Jux, for example, has been around long enough to have a good stable of artists, but isn't too overtly commercialized like some of the bigger, more well-known labels. Hip-Hop/Rap isn't too complex, in fact, it's more or less a repetitive beat and looped sample driven over and over again, so to find the "good stuff" is tough, but it surely is, as you said, out there.

  • @TyphoidBryan: Record labels have nothing to do with trying to experience REAL hip-hop, fro example as much as I enjoy Jean Grae, I think Strong Arm Steady's sound is shit. They are both on the same label (Talib's Blacksmith Records). Aftermath Records only draws because of Eminem and 50 Cent, but I am going to wait until Dre's. As for Def Jux...I MEAN Definitive Jux, if they feel dropping guys like Murs, Mr Lif, Dizzee Rascal and Cannibal Ox, then the company must be making millions(!)

  • niiiiice...whats the dudes name that is obviously the same guy that does stuff with the gorillaz?

  • that my friend would be Del tha Funkee Homosapien

  • @montypython1533

    right on...thank you tons! =]
