  • running on the old GAS?.....bad to leave it sitting all that time.

  • @jeepers2655 The gas is beyond old, but has preservative in it at least. I wish I could bring all these old cars home.

  • Have you had a chance to do any resto work on the old monster? I know the frames can get soft between the door, and rear wheel house. Any advice you need, let me know.

  • @luvoldcarz Sorry for the delay, never get notices now that this 'Google' thing has taken over Youtube. The car sits in the barn still, yes, the boxed frames can get compromised, this one is still in fair shape. I will keep your words in mind! Thanks.

  • Corvairwild is a cool dude,.

    nice car

    nice vid

    5outa5

  • i love this car!!!! looks GREAT!

  • Thanks very much, It will look even better once it gets back on the road!

  • Was that a Pontiac Firebird i saw in front of itz???

  • No, the car in front is a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado, the back does look a little like a Firebird.

  • The sound of the convertible motor reminds me of the motor in my dad's 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS. Those GM motors in the tops all have that signature nasally whine.

I really hope CW gets both of those cars back on the road. I'd just get them roadworthy and then drive them as is and restore them little by little as the longer you let *anything* sit the more things go wrong.

I couldn't tell/hear but when was the last time CW fired up the Skylark?

The sound of the engine is fantastic! Music!

  • Yes, these cars do have a unique sound, my ears are really attuned to Oldmobiles in the midst of things. I keep prodding CW about this and threaten to take the Toronado away from him, he knows very well how much i love that particular type of car. Front drive and almost 500 lb-ft of torque, mixed with skinny tires make for awesome smoke shows! If I am correct, it has been a few years since both have been started.

  • Priceless!!!! now sell it to me and let me add it to my babies~!

  • I keep prodding CW we have to do something with this car some day soon. It deserves more then being cooped up in the barn! I would like to see something done with the car. I was kinda close to getting the Toronado off him, but my Vista Cruiser came into my life.

  • Pour in more life juice! Great to see that running, Would be great to see it back on the road. You make a good team too.

  • Hopefully tis ride can be on the road again some day. It most likely will, but who knows with time. Thanks for the words of us being a team, we always have been just such whilst together.

  • She's Alive!! Yeppie!!!

  • They always come back to life. Just like in the horror movies, but this is no horror!

  • that is one awesome sound. love how those carz sound... something more manly about blowing gallons of gas for that sound versus gas sipping honda sound.....

  • Indeed, when the weather permits it is such therapy for me to take my wagon out and clean out the cob webs from the dual pipes! What a sound, gotta love it!

  • Does Andrew want to resto these Gem?

  • All they really need is a good cleaning...although the Toronado has some rust I guess. I wouldn't mess with the original paint unless it's really bad!

  • These cars were so pretty in the days when we kept them nice. They were just old used cars back then. Unfortunately, the Toro and Buick would need complete brake work before we even think of taking them out. Who has the time these days? The paint is nice on the Toro, one dented fender, the Buick is fender dented all over, but the paint too is nice.

  • Oh if only the time could be found. These cars have to take a number and wait in line.

  • TOO MUCH JUNK! Just got back from the Lakeville haunted house. Its 1122. Place where ppl go to get scared. Made a vid.

  • Sounds scary Quinn! Now drive everyday on the highways around here. Now THAT is scary! Yes, so much stuff hanging around!

  • Yes. I scare alot of people. Its so funn1!

  • great job

  • Hopefully an encore some day soon! With who knows what CW has laying around!

  • lol you can hear CW in the backround yellin YEA BABY when it popped after the gas was dumped in.

  • And I was thinking was that even gasoline!

  • was that that cooking oil?

  • Yes, it was, and I still don't know what it was doing in the barn. Perhaps CW starting a collection for the veggie oil burning Suburban.

  • yea especially if it was there before he got that burban

  • Nice Buick man, runs good..

  • And the Buick Nail head engines had such nice thick castings, and were incredibly smooth.

  • whos car is it cause its not a diesel so it couldnt be cw's or is it

  • Those cars are CW's. That was in CW's gotta go as fast as you can (and mine too when I got hold of these rides - still do with the wagon!) never mind the cost of gasoline days. Actually, before '81 gas prices were not too horrid in our parts!

  • Hah that's awesome! Love how everything works

  • We always get them running!

  • yeah!! sounds great after sittin that long eh

  • Looks like you guys had a killer time hanging out together! I love seeing these old cars being brought back to life - 5 stars!

  • Damn sounds great!

  • sounds great should take her out next year i am only 30

  • !st Comment... I Bought that car almost 30 years ago!I
