I'm glad this song got played a lot. I wish there were more versions of "Believe it or Not" in existence. I thought it was one of the best songs he wrote. So under-appreciated. Love you Jerry. <3
I was there brother............Just one of the many memories I will always cherish.....Only those of us who have followed that road knows what a long strange trip it's been.....Peace to all my fellow brothers and sisters who has lived the life so sad it had to end I would have loved for my son to be a part of it.......many shows and much love

It was the first venue of summer`94 in Highgate,VT...Jerry fingered his was into SOTM after miracle and ,I had heard this tune plenty of times before,it was just something about this rendition that was soooo unusual,..when Jer got to,"i`d rather be with you,"my eyes opened up and tears fell like a waterfall!...unstoppable,yet...UNFORGETTABLE!!
this song means certain things to diff people me a few . now jerry sings his heart out every time most times i shed a tear just hearing the singer sing to us we are all blessed he shone so bright(jerry saying be with you chilly) like he said such a short time to be here and along time to be gone ohh wait that was phil (box of rain)
thanks texaskaje for the awesome post! "Oh, I'd rather be with you.." The jam is amazing at the end as well. Lots of killer Standings in 89'..had the good fortune of being at Alpine that year which was lovely as well. Also, Branford fit in w/the dead from the first night at Nassau. ...the eyes that night was, indescribable..they had they groove from the intro.... Love Jerry as much, if not more today than back in the days.
Standing on the moon but I'd rather be with you. The moon being the stage and you being all of his fans. I think he would rather be hanging out with us in the crowd having a good time watching the Dead. The stage can put alot of distance between him and us. But then again, I am just a little burnt and that is my perspective.

Ok, so this clip is 10 mins long!
Thanks a lot, right?
Wow what a tiresome song!
zzzzzZZZ
Misunderstand me right though.
The melody and the lyrics are great but it's just TOOOOO long and TOOOOO slow.
At least for my musical taste but who am I to judge?
