  • this was my go to style when i had nothing to do and didnt really know how to style my hair i juat love it...im going back to it again

  • Easy, & Cutemous. That's a keeper for sure! Rocking your "dollar tree" hair band too

Thanks for this one! And thanks for the tip/reminder to use products my hair likes. I learned that w/perms.There are so many great products available now for natural hair tho, I find myself kinda stressing about which ones to use. I'm newly natural & still transitioning. So definitely, I know there'll be some trial & error; but I'll stick to the lesson learned (which this video reminded me of). Thanks again.

  • Your hair texture is beautiful! I think we are hair twins as well.

  • Love it! So quick & simple! I'm all about simplicity!

  • Liked it....your hair looks awesome! Thanks for sharing.

  • OhMyFUDGE your hair is beautiful ! I'm really glad I saw this video because i'm thinking about transitioning and I think our hair types are similar. This is just the type of inspiration I need !

  • hey where do u buy ur goody headbands from?? and i love your videos. :)

  • @jassyfay115 Im cheap...I get mine from the Dollar Tree...lol. Ive also got them from WalMart and Target.

  • @MsVcharles FOR REAL?? omg i've been looking for those headbands!

  • Nice. I've been doing that same technique but platting my hair. I didn't even think to just go out w/it. I can see that this will be my summer go to style :-). Thanks.

  • Love the coils close-up!

  • @DocsLocs Thanks! =)

  • This is a really good tutorial because you keeps it simple. You use a similar routine for you puff as I do to get the results (my coils and texture appear to be very similar to yours), but I use a little shea butter after I wash my hair now.

    Thank you!

  • @jjac401 Thanks for the comment! Yea I wish I could use the shea...but my hair hates butters. =/

  • Finally. A real wash n' go!!! I did a post called "5 Confessions of Kinky-Haired Girl" that talked about "wash and go" tutorials on YouTube. LoL. IF I can, I might just blog about this tutorial on my blog. I hope you look out for it. It's KEEPITKINKY dot BLOGSPOT dot COM.

  • @comeandmingle Haha...yea..you know...

I will check it out! =)

  • Wow this video is very smart in a way that you let us know that we have to decide what works for us and are hair. I love it very informative. thank you!

  • I make vids too and I have always dreamed of being to make great videos like yours and have hair like yours. One day :( but untill then I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS on natural hair! :)

  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOZ :) THEY ARE SO WELL DONE!

  • Yay! A real wash and go :)

  • *gasp* we have the exact same hair type! hair twinsss! :D

  • :( When I was natural, my hair looked just like yours when wet, but when it dried, it turned into a matted, dry poof with no curl definition (even with a leave-in conditioner)...gonna go back to transitioning next May after my graduation (when I have more time to maintain and care for my hair)...What can I do to keep the curls and moisture...even when it dries?

  • @trinichica18 In the beginning of my journey I was all about keeping very defined curls so I would use Eco Styler gel on my hair. However now, I love the frizzy curl look so I just use leave-in as my styler.

  • @trinichica18 Um...try doing an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse or spray AFTER washing and rinsing your hair with water. I tried a rinse last week, (of course I tried to detangle before and during wash), my hair felt soft. It's never been like that before. Try 1 tsp ACV to 1 cup water (or 2 cups depending). I'd start with 2 cups. Use a ph strip (from walmart or home depot) to test acidity. The acidity (ph) shld be around 4.0-5.5.

    Hope this helps.

  • AND YES WE GET A LOT OF SHRINKAGE! lol

  • I finally found someone who has my texture with GREAT videos!!!! :) THANK GOD!!!!

  • How do I know when my hair likes a product.I'm terrible at learning about hair.

  • Hello Ruby! Love this video! Can u tell me what twa is and how long it takes for your hair to dry! Thanks;))

  • Hey!!! i Just loveeeeee your hair.(:

can you do a vid on your hair regimen?!plezz.

  • @prettychix88 Check out my vids #80-82

  • when high school started i wore this style but then everyone started talking about my forehead :/ but it loooks GREAT on you btw

  • I have the same curl pattern and coils as you but for some reason I have alot of frizz how do I control that? when I wash my hair I only see a few coils and the rest is frizzy. I don't always want to wear eco-styler gel .

  • @marissaguel85 When you wash, finger comb your hair to clump your coils together and shake your hair a bit before you leave the shower. Besides applying your leave-in, try not to touch your hair...this may cause frizzing

  • This is kind of off the cuff but, I'm still trying to figure my hair type and everytime I think I know it I see things that change my mind. I originally thought that I was 4b, then I thought that it's 4a/4b however looking at the close up of you hair I realize that mine look exactly like yours when wet. I'm sure you've said it in one of your other vids but will you tell my your hair type please and thank you. BTW love your videos.

    ve

  • @OneSassyLady1 I dont remember stating my hair type in a video, however I do have a video showing my individual strands and the texture of my hair (video #90). I have so many different textures going on that I really dont deal with the hair typing thing. My type: Kinky, Coily, Curly and loving it...haha!

  • I tried this wash and go and i really love it! When you sleep on it over night and in the morning do you just spritz water or do you add more Giovanni leave in?

  • @notsoshy28 I spritz and use more leave-in

  • Niiiiiiiiicccccceeeeee Veeeeee!..:)

  • love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Ms. V. Giiiiiiirl if I could subscribe to you 6 more times I would...I'm rockin' the office and school look right now (with the thing a ma jig hair combs....).... I just love your vids!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @LadyE726 Aw thank you!

  • Msv. i was just wondering would u eva flat iron ur hair? jus askin

  • @byoung4eva1 I have been thinking about it but I am too scared of heat damage. So I plan on doing a LOT of research before I do it...IF I do it...lol

  • GREAT VIDEO! WHAT SHAMPOO DO U USE?

  • @dlsafari Giovanni 50:50 Balance

  • I totally love you. Your videos are so cute, humorous, and most of all informative. Tks for another great video

  • also this style looks really cute on you! it fits, your face AND your personality...so cute! can't wait till my hair is long enough to try this...

  • amen....FOCUS on MOISTURE and learning to take care of your hair health not trying to make your "curls pop"...i actually can't stand that term...*shudders*

  • Hey gals, every time I use the goody headband to create a puff with my hair, it ends up slipping all the way to the top and so it feels like I have no control about the size or direction of my puff. Any tips on how to fix this?

  • @loveveritas1 Before using your bands, try playing with it first by stretching it out a bit (this is why I can double mine). Once its a little stretched, see if it works better at staying in place.

  • educate girl!!! our hair texture is similar! trini massive! lol!

  • So cute. How long did it take for you to go from TWA to Puff status? I'm in early TWA stage, 3 months post bc!

  • @thatsright79 I did my very first puff at 3 months post. It was a very small one...lol. Afterwards, I waited until I was 6 month and started really rocking them (see my video #9). And just so you know, after my BC I only had about a half inch of hair.

  • Your hair is so beautiful! It's great to see your hair progress as beautiful as it does.

  • @zunefreakster Thank you!

  • Love your hair!!!

  • I absolutely LOVE IT!

  • cute

  • I looked at the video pic and i was like what? Is ms v on vacation? She posted a vidéo about her hair when it was short? LOL shrinkage is no joke!!! Thx 4 posting;

  • @shawnafrom35 LOL...yes, my hair shrinks sooooo much! But thats just one of the reasons I love it...it keeps my (and others) entertained...BOING! lol

  • I tried this MsV and it was excellent!! i used the Hawaiian Silky 14 n 1 Miracle Worker as a moisturizer and my hair did not get hard and crunchy like it normally would with a wash n go. Thanks so much for this wonderful idea!!! i will be styling my girl's hair like this too...all three of them.

  • I Absolutely love your videos. I will be sharing them. You do some of the same stuff I do. Your hair texture is similar to mines, but it looks like your hair is softer. Thanks for the videos keep them coming. How do you stretch your band?

  • @50statesrunner You can stretch them by just pulling on them for a while.

  • Ca-yute!!! I really like the grey headband too!!

  • Thanks for sharing really nice puffs. You are so creative

  • Love this style on you. Love your hair and that headband is the BOMB.COM. This is why I love the Dollar Tree ♥♥

    Toya

  • Cute sis!

  • this is my favorite hairstyle from you! The video is lovely

  • You're so cute! I love this style.

  • I liked the fact that you emphasized that a product will not make your hair curly if curls are not already there and that everyone may not obtain the same results. Ppl seem to forget these things! I prefer the true wash-n-go myself than the wash-style-n-go

  • this vid is very informative and i love your gray hairs i am about your age and wish i had a few my texture is naturally koily and curly buy why o why i struggle with doing the process u just did I havent a clue

  • Love it

  • Nice!!

  • I love your hair!

    #4a! :)

  • Great tut

  • That's really cute!!

  • omgeee i do this style everyday!!! lol sometimes i put my hair in chunky twist and then i slick it up for a stretched style.

  • I can wash and I can go but it won't look like that! LOL! Only a portion of my hair can curl like that but I think I will try to finger comb it (so as not to disturb any patterns). That's maybe where I'm going wrong. Or maybe my whole head just doesn't do it. Either way I will see. Thanks for the vid!

  • @frozenchipmunk4 Everyone's hair is different and will obtain different results. =)

  • Cute! Cute! Cute!

  • Thank you so much for showing how you do your puff it is really cute I been wanting to put my hair in a puff, but I really did not know what to do first & this vid gave me the starting process again thanks for they idea!!

  • i love your hairrrrrr!

  • Oh I should say single strand knots?

  • @curvybody2 If you have curly hair...you will have single strand knots....no getting around that. But there are things you can do to minimize them: trims, protective styling, wearing "stretched" styles and so on.

  • This is super cute MsVee!

  • Do you get ssks?

  • Hi....love the video I wanna know where you got the thing that you put around your head. I have one but it's not that big to put around my neck twice and then bring it up to my head to put around the bun.

  • @ssophia5572 As I said in the vid, mine is a stretched out headband. You cannot buy them that way. After wearing them so long they start to "wear". =)

  • You're brave Girl--you know how people snap about the baby hurrrrs...=) Great insight on the texture.

  • @CherishMyDaughter You cant live life worried about what negative people will say to you...you'd never be happy. =)

  • @MsVcharles You're right, I'm just playin'.

  • as always quick and cute. thx Vee!

  • Great advice about hair types MsV! Ladies, this cannot be stressed more. I was discouraged for quite some time using so many products trying to achieve everyone elses look. Now I know what my hair likes and i stick with it. I kept a little cheat sheet everytime I tried something different and when I hit something just right I kept it in my regular routine. My hair loves the basics! Find PEACE in your hair type and texture! Your hair is as unique as you are!

  • Very cute! Love the headband too.

  • Love the puff! I will have to try this in the summer because it is starting to get cold now.

  • Love it. And love that you mentioned "your hair likes" you'd be surprised how many believe all curls are equal. Keep up the good work.

  • CUTE!!

  • Just did my BC on Oct. 10 from transitioning for 10 months. I can't wait until I get enough hair to do a puff.

  • Chic and easy styling! I'm impressed! I will try this once I'm done rocking my genie locs...thanks for sharing, Vee!!

  • I like the music u used n this vid

  • Puffs always save the days ;) cute

  • Very cute and simple :)

  • Cute Ms. V!

  • This is exactly how I do my puff.... Every step. It's my favorite style!

  • WOOO before the 303 mark!!!

  • wow i do the coiling of the hair near my ear, i thought i was the only one to do that >.< :)

  • Beautiful, I'll have to try this out, I think our hair is about the same texture and length so it may work. I've done puffs on old wash and go's before, but not on a fresh one and with conditioner only. Can't wait to try it (-:

  • @Teetee554 Products are usually first come first serve. I always suggest if you see something cute get it...even if you cant use it now, you will later. =)

  • You have really good bathroom lighting LOL very nice

  • @MizMimiCullen Thats because Im not in a bathroom...lol

  • Great vid and right on time!

  • I dont have your curl pattern, my curl pattern is "cotton ball" so I would have to add more product but I can still work it. I was so excited when I could do my first puff!

  • Very pretty!

  • I wish that I knew how to do a wash and go. Do you spray something on it through out the day? How does your hair look by the end of the day?

  • @renaissancesista No my hair pretty much stays how I style it. The only thing is I get shrinkage. However if you need to moisturize then do what you gotta do. =)

  • Sooooo PRETTY!!!!! And your hands are soooo small

  • @IwReCkSiNgInG lol =P
