  • Such a shame this park was closed. Why was it closed? Was it the proximity to Six Flags New England?

  • No. Sadly, control of the park went to an unscrupulous businessman from Boston who originally promised to keep the park running, but in reality wanted the waterfront land for condo development. Once he got control, the park was shuttered and all the rides were sold off.

  • Wow, this is familiar to me as Cypress Gardens down here in Winter Haven, FL was bought by a realestate company. They said they'd keep it open, but, they've eliminated almost all the rides and the small zoo. They said they want to "concentrate on the gardens and water park". So sad to see Whalom Park go, we're loosing to much of our history for short term profits.

  • Its weird how there are only like 3 of the full sized tumble bugs left in the whole world...

  • Well, there really are only two left and they're within 100 miles of each other. One's a Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, PA (near Pittsburg, PA) and the other is at Connesut Lake Park in Conneaut Lake, PA, between Pittsburg and Erie, PA.

  • WEEEEE
