99% of drink drivers watch adverts like this only to go out and commit the offence anyway. It's not that they don't know what could happen - it's that they don't think it'll happen to them, and probably get a kick out of breaking the rules. Adverts are ineffective on such people, no matter how shocking they are to everyone else.
The only course of action is to make it as hard as possible for them to get away with it, and catch as many as possible in the act before the worst happens.
Good advert but it won't make any difference. It's not like people who drink and drive don't know it's illegal or that it comes with risks. They know full well, but are just the type of people who either don't care or like get a kick out of taking the risk. The only ones who take adverts like this seriously are the ones who wouldn't drink and drive in the first place.
Charge drivers with manslaughter for causing death by dangerous or drunk driving. If you agree, please sign this UK government petition. If it received 100,000 signatures it will be debated in parliament. This is not just spam - a drunk driver killed my friend last year. Thankyou for reading.
"Look, you've had 2 pints you over the limit. Thats a 12 month ban and a criminal record. It's company policy, we're going to have to let you go,"..."I don't care if there's only 20 thousand miles on the clock, that's my final offer"..."Oh that's just great! No liecense, no job!, now what!!?".....So, Sir. What will it be?...........Pint.
@00gazvanim The one where he says "I know theres only 20,000 on the clock"? Thats the guy trying to sell his car, because he can no longer drive. The 'salesman' is offering him a low amount of money for his car.
this ad tells all lisen to it no one gets arrested killed or anything and anyway if you did get catched then the police would arrested you because they are trying to stop you from killing yourself lisen to ad and non of this will happen
excellent advert, highlighting some very valid and relevant points. the acting in this is great, there was no dubbing involved - the actor's movements alone validate this. just seen the ad on tv in the uk again, you know when it's christmas here!
This add is a lot more effective than the old ones showing horrible car crashes; you never think that will happen to you and they just make you look away. This add makes you think (no pun intended) about the consequences, which is a great deal more effective in my opinion
No the correct English is (by your method), if you drink, don't drive. 'Drank' is a past tense and it would be grammatically incorrect :o) "Don't drink and Drive" just gives the message a lot clearer, more impact and to the point. Plus it sounds better too.
P.S. I was born in Hong Kong too, I know all these past, present and future tense can be confusing :o)
So, what's it gonna be?
"Pint."

You don't get a criminal record for drink driving, It's recorded on your license for 10 years then it's expunged. The Acting is impressive though!.

this is a very soft campaign when you compare it to the Northern Ireland one DOE Drink Driving Road Safety Ad
malarky321 2 years ago
ummm....I applaud the reasons behind the campaign but somethings occur to me about this
1) Is the barman psychic? How does he know the guy isnt coming for a coke or a packet of nuts? The guy could be a designated driver.
2) What barman tries to stop a customer from buying a pint? I bet his manager is pleased with him stopping all the custom.
God I have thinking bout this far too much. I need to get out more.
