this is gonna be the first car i buy when i pass my test, im 20 and a lazy bugger which is why i left it so late, also so i could insure a nice ghia version with leather seats
@markhimself if you did (which i hope you dont) you be protected
just bought one a 5dr 52 - 2002 1.6 lx good performance for a small engine, great economy, stylish and great fun to drive plus i know that i will be protected if the worst ever happens!
but i wouldnt have an alfa they're basically expensive fiats and fiats are CRAP when it comes to reliability
trust me i have had a fiat punto in the past and my friends have had fiats newer than mine they are all rubbish and your alfa as nice as it looks will give you trouble as well
sorry to say it but you just bought a piece of junk
@voiceofreason2008 You're one retarded human sir... Alfa Romeo's reliability is equal nowadays to any other premium brand in the world. Fiat builds awesome cars, i've had a Palio from year 97' to 06' and i just got satisfactions, the car is fast, comfortable and reliable in mechanical matter... Old Fiats are crappy that's true, but the new ones are not even a quarter bad of the old ones, to the opposite they are much more reliable than most generic brands... update yourself bro...
@Zerolagg glad to hear that your car is working out for you and yes ill admit cetain models of fiats and alfas are better now than they were but i still say they arent as reliable as they can be
@Zerolagg mechanically fiats have always quite good
its the electrics that have always gone crazy, its the same with french cars like renault, citroen and peugeot (both part of PSA) mechanically they are pretty good but electrics can prove to be a headache!
im sure you beloved fiat is providing you with all the car you need but im afraid its a reliable car in amidst of several that arent with a reputation for gremlins to creep in and reak havoc with your sanity and your wallet!
@voiceofreason2008 Its curious i never heard anyone owning a Fiat complain about problems with the car's electricity, to the opposite as you say i have heard a lot of complaints regarding to electronics from Peugeot and Renault. Fiats are not known for this issue. Im sure if you have had any problems with it, you must be one of the few who did, because so far from all the complaints i've heard from Fiats, electricity is the least common.
@Zerolagg well my brother is a motor mechanic he works in a small town called bacup in rossendale lancashire which in the north west of the united kingdom and he has had plenty of people with issues relating to fiats electrical gremlins this is from older fiats and newer fiats
@pelewi im not saying that EVERY single Citroen, Peugeot, Renault, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia etc... will go wrong it is just that a higher percentage of them compared to other makes
ford focus's has problems mine may have problems, but on the whole fords and focus's for that matter have a track record of having above average reliability and that is what i mean in customer satisfaction surveys all the cars i listed in this reply had below average satisfaction and reliability and that is a fact
@voiceofreason2008 Different people buy cars based on different things; I actually own a Focus, it hasn't gone wrong, but I find it incredibly boring. I would trade it in for an Alfa Romeo purely because when I buy a car I look at the beauty of the car, and whether the car has a beating heart. A Ford Focus doesn't have a beating heart, it's just a machine. You might not understand what I'm talking about but I promise I'm not mentally ill!
