Inaccurate facts, so far, in 2011, only one civilian has died due to rocket attack in Israel, with that said only 1 rocket has actually gone through into a populated area. Also, 35k is an underestimate, its close to 40k.
Iron Dome does not intercept every rocket fired. It only hits the ones that are confirmed to be headed for a populated area. $35,000 to prevent a death, forest fire or the destruction of a large building is well worth it. If one person gets injured that can easily cost more than 35k for hospital bills, missing work etc. Plus the morale boost from this system for Israelis and the morale drop for the terrorists risking their life to build and fire a rocket to see it get shot down is imporant.

but when they respond it usually involves bombing highly populated areas, and its not because they want to,
its because the terrorists are shooting from schools and hospitals, so the IDF doesn't have a choice.

Also, these rockets were NOT Hamas. Hamas has denied this attack. It was another militant group.

The reason Israel doesn't get world sympathy is because (well the world is plain dumb, firstly) they suffer so few casualties in these attacks, and the reason they don't suffer too many casualties is because they're getting better and better at defending themselves and avoiding actually becoming casualties.
