  • I maintained and flew 5 machines back in the day and was very comfortable taking my little boy cross country, an excellent machine two thumbs up!

  • Very nice video! I also do lessons at the Diamond da20. I do it in The Netherlands. Sunday was my first lesson. Great Plane!

  • sorry can i know the name of the song?? please.......p.s. i fly whit DA 20 and he is very nice airplane.....is the best airplane for the training flight....

  • I should know this but is a touch-and-go an approach and landing followed by a take-off and climb to pattern altitude...? is this similar to a go-around...?

  • @dublinmanc Yes it is very similar to a go around. The only difference here is that we did not come to a full stop and do a taxi back. Great question.

  • @anytimeradio wait thi may come off stupid and i should know this since im a student pilot.... but isnt a go around just when you for whatever reason don't land on your final and make another approach?

  • @anytimeradio You mean stop and go :)

Go around is a "cancelled" landing.

  • @spithakos

Sorry but did you see the airplane come to a full stop? Did you see a taxi back? If not then that is considered touch and go's.

  • @anytimeradio You misunderstood me, I was just just commenting on what is a go around and not the touch and go of your video, wich of course was a touch and go. You described the difference of go-around and touch-and-go wrong since what you described in your answer was a stop-and-go which is a landing-taxi back to rw-and take off not a go-around which is an aborted landing. :)

    Happy and safe flying :)

  • @anytimeradio he didn't mean that "touch and go" was incorrect. spithakos is not refuting that. rather, what you described in your reply to dublinmanc's comment is a stop and go. a go around is, in fact, what results when your approach is off and you have to "go around" to re-attempt the landing.

  • @anytimeradio No, spithakos is right. He was asking you if touch and gos were similar to go-arounds, and I think you mis understood him, when you said taxi back etc. he corrected you and said that he was referencing more to a "canceled landing" (go around) and so I think you misunderstood eachother. In any case, yes, they are similar to go arounds, just you touch the ground in a touch and go, on a go around, you try not to touch the ground.

  • @dublinmanc Yes they are similar but as the name says you touch the runway in a touch and go but in a go around you don't touch down because you are actually abandoning a landing.

  • A very nice video

  • Yes the katana is really nice to fly, good video.

  • where about did you go for flight training

  • Scottsdale, AZ (SDL)

    I used Alliance Aircraft

  • im also flying on the DA-20, its a really nice plane with good performance! i prefer the katana instead of the C152 or something, but i have never flown on a Eclipse before...

  • If you have flown the DA-20 C1 then you have basically have flown the Eclipse. Now if you are flying the Roxtax DA20 A1 then thats a different story.

  • @herriho

cessnas have far better flying characteristics than diamonds...stability, maneuverability...

diamonds are dangerous...2 of my friends got seriously injured in a da40 (its known to have recurring engine problems), one da20 broke up in mid air (in-flight break up) during normal flight...

  • @lavakava please provide proof before you start talking smack. Diamond airplanes have one of the highest safety ratings around. In fact the US Airforce used Diamond DA20-C1 for all their incoming cadets. The DA40 uses the IO-360 which is also used in plenty of Cessna's. Plus the Diamond Airplane line has reinforced cockpit as well. Unlike your high wing Cessna. Why did you even bother posting here you troll.

  • @anytimeradio

i am not talking smack. my friends did get serious injury in a da40 due to engine failure. diamond knows this. and talking of safety, diamonds have few accidents because very few diamonds are flying lol...

sure high wing cessna is prone to wind while landing but then i wouldn't take off in a heavy windy day since i am a risk averse pilot lol.

  • @lavakava false the whole air force trains the new cadets on da20's thats alot of people and many other flight schools use this plane and many people own diamonds, they are very safe, like gliders

  • @lavakava you're an idiot. i have flown both and i feel much more comfortable in the diamond, you can do anything in these planes. what is you're glide ratio? i know my da20's is 11:1. so if i lose an engine at altitude i'll cruise a few miles to whichever airport i want.

  • @lavakava airplanes dont just break up in flight you clearly are not educated on these sort of things and the reason they are such popular trainers is because they are practically gliders and have a very low stall speed

  • @dfx961 A Cessna 172S has a lower stall speed bro ;)

  • @JetlinerXPilotXFSX

Really???? Is this when you are sitting behind your computer playing FSX? How many hours do you have in a Diamond DA20-C1 vs a Cessna?

  • @anytimeradio Lol. Chill out man, I was being sarcastic. I also dont use FSX as a training tool, and I have about 38 hours in a Cessna. I was just kidding, no need to get all worked up.

  • @JetlinerXPilotXFSX another popular training aircraft... never said it was the lowest stall speed

  • @lavakava

Show me some proof on this mid air in flight break up. I'm getting sick of these armchair pilots. I have logged hundreds of hours in both Cessna's and Diamonds and maneuverability would go to Diamond first. Wing loading for each manufacture and airplane always varies. ....sigh....

  • @lavakava The reason it broke up in flight is because they for some unknown reason opened the canopy..

  • Hey bro, I just flew a DA20-C1 for the 1st time today, I wish I would've years ago. One sweet airplane!Nice video.

  • Thanks for the comments

  • @incheon

Glad you went up in the DA20. Its a great airplane. The earlier model DA20 A1 is also nice just not as much power compared to the C1. Its a fun airplane for short hops....heck even 1,000 miles is not that bad with a few stops along the way. Long XC is not bad doing solo. Drop a line if you have any questions. I sold the Diamond but she will always have a place in my heart. Now I'm trying to build Tail Wheel time, with more HP. Thanks again for your comment.

  • I fly the Da-20 also, you should add more videos. Great plane! I would also like to fly the Da-40.

  • Will do...thanks for watching

  • I've got a question: what is the way you've mounted the camera on DA20? :) And BTW, well executed landings!

  • Its pretty easy. Use a goose neck mount behind the cargo net and weave the camera through the net. Pic's would better illustrate. Drop a line if you need some help.

  • hey nice plane i actually fly a DA20 eclipse at morristown NJ best in flight aviation academy its a great airplane

  • If you want to see a better video check out vimeo and lookup user radiokaos and see the difference yourself. It is free and the quality is better.

  • Here are a few touch and go's. This video was filmed on 2/20/07 in my Diamond DA20-C1. The airport in use is Scottsdale Arizona KSDL. Please leave comments on what you like and dislike. All input helps. Let me know if you like the shots, background, editing, and music. Thanks for checking this video out.
