@OoLenny40oO Whyy?? Its in the rules? That man knows the rules better than any player on that Scottish Team? Been in rugby longer than you have been on youtube typing dick-head ish comments.
@OoLenny40oO It is in the rules, did the commentators ever say 'Oh whats his doing, he really shouldnt be doing that' No they stated that Steve Thompson knows his boundaries and that he was perfectly in his right to do it. They didnt have a penalty that retook it again.
Looking at the U20's England team, I have not lost hope yet, they utterly demolished everyone in their 6 Nations and can quite happily beat Australia and SA. They do at least compete well against NZ and should have in fact run away with a winner at the previous JWC.
@LalineadeVeintidos 1st song: Dropkick Murphy's - Shipping up to Boston, 2nd song: Killers- Smile like you mean it, 3rd song Green Day: Holiday, 4th song:
Actually the facts don't lie And I have no doubt as to the speed of the RU wingers The fact is they have no need to train for any skill except running, they just fall short when it comes to passing, sidestep, tackling, positional understanding, technique, stamina, and ID'ing the try line....." never seen the Wallabies play so badly, it was agony, continually kicking to the opposition, who were inept at running it back, what a waste of a night, a great advert for RL" Mark Ella 2006
@terrortorn so ur saying the fastest players on the pitch fall short in agility?? normally wingers are pretty decent sidesteppers... good tacklers too cos they are regularly on the last man or covering, and theyre positional understanding has to be good, otherwise theyd get picked apart by any decent 10.
@IrishDub18 I'm saying that in a game that only averages about 32 mins of play out of 80 they lack the opportunity to find out what they can do. As for positional understanding, there is a reason why U has so few tries. I saw a slice of the Scarlets game over the weekend. The only time I have ever seen a back line deliver the ball to the wings with the receiving players standing still. Practicing lineouts, mauls, rucks and scrums is costly when it comes to developing real oval ball skill.
I have come to the conclusion that the only possible way to watch Rugby Union is through the highlights. The actual matches just 50-60% stoppages and kicking out on the full or the ball buried under a pile of players.. Strange that this video celebrates the tries and tackles as highlights and not the scrums, rucks, mauls and "technicality" that is so enthused over by Union types. Clearly they must constitute the lowlights.
@terrortorn I have come to the conclusion that league is a little game played by little men and supported by small minded folk like yourself who are so bitter and twisted they feel the need to denigrate every other world sport.
@4351fly I made a statement of fact only. If you have a link on Youtube of the 10 best scrums, rucks, mauls, lineouts or kicks out on the full I would be obliged. I have also tried to find one showing any RU innovations in the world of sport, maybe you know of one?
@terrortorn- there are many links on utube to great scrums, lineouts, and breakdown work which are indeed highlights of any rugby match. To view them simply type in the following players names into utube:
@4351fly I have already seen these things and unfortunately the breakdown, lineout and scrum seem to merely be something to occupy the fat, lanky and slow boys on the pitch that have nothing to contribute to real play. Still it probably keeps them warm!
@terrortorn sorry brother, you have lost credibility now. Years ago they did a fitness test between all the footy codes in Sydney. The fittest guy was Simon Poidovin, a rugby flanker. David Pocok and Richie McCaw would be two of the fittest, toughest players in any football code on the planet.
@4351fly Well RU averages between 28 and 37 minutes of play per match and RL 65 to 72 so outside the world of RU the idea that RU is demanding of more fitness is laughable. Seems you are schooled in the "Big Lie" school of truth inversion so readily accepted by Union types.
@terrortorn Rubbish. League is like netball, it stops every time a player is tackled. Let go of the animosity mate and cross over to the big school, we don't hold grudges!
Innovations? Rugby union is full of innovations. Look at one aspect of play the restart. Rugby league = kick long. Rugby union = kick short, kick open/ blindside; compete for ball; kick long, etc. A lot more freedom in rugby. In the Brasil Olympics you'll see one of our biggest innovations, 7s rugby, enjoy!
@4351fly The kick off is not an innovation it is merely because your players are too slow for a longer kick and chase and considering a 92/95% retention rate once the ball is received it may be years till you get it back. Rugby 7's is the only way RU fans can see any running and tries and it was Wigan and Bradford who showed you how to play that. I can't think of anything you have that others would copy.
@terrortorn Too slow? Last year they had a race between the fastest union/ league players in Sydney. There were 4 leaguies, and 2 union players (one of whom was an amateur). The union players finished first and second. All the hot air about superior athletes in league is just that.
THUMBS UP if ya agree if there shuld be a club rugby world cup....Like 10 of the best club sides in the southern hemisphere and 10 of the best sides from thenorthern hemisphere....They then go into the same format as the internetional rugby world cup with 4 pools of 5 teams ineach and the top two qualify for the quarters and so on.... I think it is a great idea and should definetly be brought in..... PLEASE THUMBS UP THIS COMMENT IF YA FEEL THE SAME WAY AS ME AND ME MAYBE SOMETHING MIGHT HAPPEN
@fukinwhurinjasussake not every year, maybe every 4 years or something like that..they wouldnt be able to do it every year and if they did there wouldnt be as much meaning into it then
@irishmurph123 sure all the internationals would be playing for their clubs like o'connell would be playing for young munster ect. it would be pointless
@irishmurph123 Mainly Because clubs don't have the type of support Countrys do.For instance if Australia were hosting it only a handfull of Northern Hemisphere teams supporters would go, the crowds at matches would be 95% Auzzie and Kiwi.Northern Hemisphere teams would have no support.
@irishmurph123 i recon there should be a rugby vs rugby league world cup than every 2 years (yes not 4 2 years) the big union bullies get a chance at high ego high energy little big mouths because if theres one thing large angry men hate it's little mouths
@irishmurph123 actually i would theres 2 ways you could play it first is make it during the 1st half union rules (or league rules) 2nd half opposite rules to first or you could adopt a quatre of each set of rules first half and add the rest of the rules in the 2nd half mash the rules up so it could work and it would be funny to watch
@eliotriley Why??? Your the 1st person iv ever say anything like that. The Irish people are among the most loved in the world, and O'driscoll is probably one of the top 10 rugby players of all time, a real player, unlike the likes of henson who is more concerned about how his hair gel is holding up... What are you basing your argument on?
dont understand how scotland can be so bad at try scoring when they have players like richie gray, joe ansbro, max evans and graeme morrison in the loose. I mean they're not the greatest but they should certainly chip in with a try or two more often than not
@Leighboi12 aha the man they're starting with today, no idea why the scottish half-back pairing against england aren't ruaridh jackson and rory lawson at 10 and 9 respectively...that being said CMON England
The Six nations in 2012 should be a corker. Ireland, France, Wales and England played well in the World Cup so it will pretty much be a levelled playing field.
@grevious01 Well I wouldn't quite say England played well and France were very inconsistent, but both have gotten new coaches so maybe they can rebuild themselves but yes it's definitely looking like it's gonna be an exciting tournament.
