Fun game, speeding along the hull of a kilometre wide capital ship with six fighters on your tail, dodging turret fire.

Then you pull a loop and drop behind the chasers, blast them into pieces then pull back and watch as your team blast the starships weak spots and it cracks apart in a massive explosion.

@rfry eve is not twitch based this is, so this game doesn't even compare to eve its a total different style elite, X series freelancer were all twitch based, if you dont know what twitch based is, well thats where you fly around in your ship and control it with your mouse and keyboard, with eve its pointt and click

Perplexingly, I feel a bit sad that I'm not going to be afraid of ganking or pirate salvaging essentially everywhere, like how it is in EVE. I don't think passivity truly chalks up to EVE's style, but more tactics. Gives you room and time to think how you'd want to work out that adrenaline.

EVE Alliance Battles are epic too, but in Black Prophecy you pilot the vessel yourself. In EVE you just sit there and tell your guy were to go... so less action, but still epic (with supercaps and krawoum) xDD

This may be my next game. While I will expect developers to deliver on what they promise, I don't think I'll be hyping this up too much. After all, if you make this out to be the most amazing thing, chances are you won't enjoy it. But I won't lie, it looks damn good =)

I like this game. I'm a lover of Sci-Fi and Eve Online is awesome for me, but I'm under 18 and still got no job and I don't want to use my parents' money as it's not mine... I played freelancer, I liked it, but too few people, you have to look for pirates and wait for war if you want PvP :| I hope my computer is not going to be too old for this game.

the player with the most skills just broke a billion skill points. Not even nearly all of them. Someone did the math, and if you learned every skill, starting with the skills that speed up training time, it will take like twenty years or some ridiculous amount of time like that. Maybe fifteen. Whatever.

Also, it is only impossible to train all the skills if the game is discontinued or if they add an insane amount of skills at a constant rate until the game is taken off the servers.

This game looks great. The gameplay looks extremely similar to mechwarrior so far. In the preview video there's a weapon heat mechanic, and you can group weapons to go on a single keyboard key, both like mechwarrior.

Its all about the typical story about the human expanding throughout the galaxy in colonies but there 2 major faction s battling it out the TYI are cybernetically enhanced humans while the Genides are genetically perfect humans then they discover an ancient race called the Restorers who have homicidal tendencies with other races , so you gotta pick a side to uncover the secrets of the Restorer and make sure the human race survives. :) my fingers hurt

EVE is a point and click game with a focus on the economy. Black Prophecy is a 1st or 3rd person shooter game with a focus on combat. Similarly, combat in EVE involves targetting, and clicking all your weapon buttons once. Combat in Black Prophecy requires you to fly around to evade enemy attacks, and to manually aim your weapons. EVE is skill based, while Black Prophecy is level based. Ships in Black Prophecy receive a graphical change for each module they equip.

There also appears to be different shield hp bars for each side of the ship in Black Prophecy, similar to how individual parts of a mech were damageable in mechwarrior.

Finally, from what has been released, Black Prophecy appears to be focused on smaller fighter ships, while EVE ships tend to be relatively large.

The people making Black Prophecy say that most missions will be instanced, however, they mentioned they would be including some unspecified thing to please people who want world pvp. Real economy and player made items are up in the air. Mining looks very unlikely.

And yes, EVE is based on learning skills for your character, so you could potentially learn every skill. Black Prophecy is based around leveling up your character similar to traditional RPGs.

The fact that they're ALWAYS adding new skills, therefore it is impossible to learn them all. I don't think anyone in Eve has command over all skills, that's why they have several accounts. If they stopped adding skills then yes, it would be possible, but I doubt that would happen.

That's all I want to know. it's got nothing to do with practicality, it's to do with the fact that while they are releasing new abilities with every update, you will never be able to catch it. Also note, that the example I gave below is only 1 set of skills - 4.5 years. How many sets are there? 12? 15? So a good 50+ years for the current skillset, plus as more arrive... mate, it's impossible.

This looks and feels exactly like the EVE Online Trinity trailer...but if it has dogfighting and those graphics, jumpgate is going to be slaughtered. EVE can survive with Ambulation hitting and the 2nd part of Trinity, then Planetside.
