I am a FF / EMT. Before you get behind the wheel, THINK. True story. A 29 year old female and a 27 year old male. They were involved in a bad wreck. The driver of the other vehicle was texting and driving. The couple was killed. On scene of the accident, a 4 year old boy arrived with his uncle and tugged at my leg and said "Are mommy and Daddy ok?" I couldnt help but to start tearing up. I could not find it in me to tell a cute little 6 y/o that he would not see mommy & daddy again.
inside were 3 adults and 2 ten year old twins. they drowned. it was hard to watch them as they retrieved the bodies from the car. there were 7 in the car, 1 escaped, and 1 never found. the one that escaped, a nine year old girl, she said her shoes got coaught on the seat blt, thats why they were under the seatbelt, she kicked her pants off to help her swim. she was pulled from the river 2 miles down stream by a farmer. her pants were found inside the van next to her shoes. this was 5 years ago.
I am a tow truck driver part time, and I see the same things ems see, sometimes i have to move the cars off of bodys, it haunts you. the wrst wreck i ever seen 5 people died and the car wnet in a river, and they all drowned. i had to pull the car out so they could recover the bodies. it still gets me every time i see that bridge and those plaqs
been running calls for three years since a junior in HS. and nothing is worse then pulling three of you best friends mangled bodies out of a car they crashed after drinkin. NEVER WORTH IT TO DRINK AND DRIVE
yes, you will probably run more than 3-4 times as many car wrecks than fires and about 8 times as many medical calls as fire calls. being a firefighter doesn't have all that much to do with fighting fires anymore. of course the type of calls you run vary from region to region and department to department but this is the overall statistics.
Being a FF/EMS is not for the faint of heart...you will see things that will haunt you....for a long time. While being a rewarding job, its hard and demanding and some days you will wonder why you are doing it...but at the end of the day when you go home and think, "i saved a life today" its then that you will know why you do it.
About 3 years ago I ran a fatal wreck where a young couple & 2 of their 4 kids were killed, I still see a little pink converse in a pool of blood & huge striking blue eyes in a dead 3 year old girl's face everytime I close my eyes & yet everytime I think about the wreck I remember having a 7 year old girl run up to me in a coffee shop 5 months after the wreck & pull on my pants & as I knelt down to her level she wrapped her arms around my neck & said thank you for saving my life
@alarm776 I know Im a bit late, but trust me. I am a FF/EMT and you will see more than your fair share of blood, guts, brains, and horrible things that you don't want to see. That is just part of being a FF or EMT. I wish you the best of luck, man.
i seen a dodge durango that slammed a tree going over a hundred and everyone in the car died but one person and there was five people...blood and guts were still everywhere... i went to scholl with 3 of them and two were close friends..... yea alcohol is not worth it at all..
I remember going to the junkyard last year and seeing a Taurus with blood all over the airbag. The engine was pushed back almost into the passenger cabin from the impact.
I just thought that I'd share a little story with ya'll. I was in a bad accident on Friday the 13th. I was not drinking, but the fucker who hit me was. I was driving home from a friends house when this car came flying like a bat outta hell through a red light and into the side of my car. He was not hurt. I was. I was driving a Dodge Caliber SRT-4. I forget what he was driving, nor do I give a fuck. The impact gave me a gash on my head and a broken arm. The guy was going about 45 when he hit me.
yeah i know how ya feel, my brother got killed in panama city about a month ago he was in a hit and run he was just walkin back to his hotel when a drunk driver hit him on front beach road, his name was randy nolan now i have to live the rest of my life without my best friend/brother cause someone couldnt have stoped drinking. r.i.p randy, he was 20 years old
you'd think that the people that see this kind of stuff everyday would know not do it themselves but you would be surprised at just how many ffs/medics/cops drink and drive themselves, how many have been convicted of duis. it's sad and it pisses me off like no other, but it's the truth.
funny to think that many drink to forget about scenes like these!
This is one of my greatest fears. Not for me, but for my aunt who's an alcoholic. She drives drunk regularly. Every day I worry about her safety. I worry that one day it'll be her car that's twisted up like this. I don't really know what I would do without her. She helped me get through some really rough times.
I understand that you love your aunt and don't want her getting hurt - but think about it this way - she CHOOSES to drink and drive, so if she crashes and gets hurt it's because she choose to crash and get herself hurt. But that is not the case for the innocent people that she could crash into and hurt or worse yet, kill. She thinks that it will never happen to her, yet they never think about it happening to them, until it does and by then it's too late.
Anyone convicted of drunk driving should be forced to ride with the fire department to accident scenes. Let them see what their actions do to human flesh.
@ralachapelle There would be some of them who just wouldn't get it even after seeing the aftermath. A lot of people just have something wrong with their mentality in that regard. They're incapable of or unwilling to learn.
you are right many people die each year in a drunken stuber behiknd the wheel of a vehicle. My uncle died 20 years ago in a fatal car crash when he was hit by another drunk driver. I will hope nothing like this will ever happen to me. Lots of your pics are 2 car crashes. It was one of there falts.
I have always wanted to be a cop, i still do but do you think i should reconsider that idea? because i hate bloody stuff. I'm still thinking about joining.
what would a scene be without a barfing cop??? you shouldnt let something like queasiness around blood stop you from fulfilling your dreams. Little secret about me I was TERRIFIED of needles before I became a medic it was in medic school that I was forced to overcome my fear I still dont like them coming near me but I didnt let that fear stop me from becoming what I wanted to be and now I wouldnt trade my job for the world. So I say dont let anything get in the way of you fulfilling your dreams
I witnessed a head on crash last month. The driver was ejected through tha windshield & died on impact! Found out he was drunk on a cellphone, blew the red light at 80 miles an hour. Shit still gives me nightmares. Thank god I don't drink, only pepsithank you.
So you have an idea of the nightmares that we (paramedics, firefighters, cops) have, although you learn to put the feelings aside there are still some calls that give you nightmares. Good don't drink, it's bad for your health anyway!
im only 13 but ive been a witness to 5 or 6 car crashes and almost in 1 of them i have seen at least 3 pplz die from them and i can only hope i am not in 1 i will NEVER drink and drive. i am really gratefull for the ems pplz who have saved so many lives. you have saved the lives of a few close friends and family god bless you for what you do. ( i had to give a statement at all of the car accidents and almost got taken to hospital from shock and a asthma attack at the same time at one of them)
this is a very sad video. please dont drink and drive or this is what could happen to you or worse, it could be your family member, freind, neighbor, wife, or husband. many think that it wont happen to you but it happens more than you think. so dont even try to go home drunk.
I lost my fiance and a friend of mine 3 weeks before our wedding and a week before Christmas last year(December 17, 2007). It is still so hard to deal with. They were hit head on when they were headed to work. Some guy was driving on the wrong side of a 2 lane highway. They were 22 and 21 years old. I have to thank the workers and people who helped that day, and I feel for everyone who has lost someone they love due to a car accident.
"dont cuss at me. i hate the f word. g damn dont ever say that. "
what you talking about then bitch? thats what you said right there...and its not your buisness when you post a public comment on the internet for millions of people to read.
umm ok... i didnt ask for your opinion. but really? ya thank. no crap. and it wasnt the f word that made me mad. so you shut up and stay out my buisness.
cuz i have to deal with the stupid idiots on here that are too lazy to read and cuz i was fucking tired as hell when i posted the last couple of comments
well i talked to you first cause your sooo rude to other people so i just wanted to know why. but i found out why. but i dont care. your a very rude person. and i feel bad for anyone who has to deal with you. bye.
honestly i dont care what you think of me, if you were my patient i'd put up with you and be really nice to you, but you're not my patient so i dont have or want to put up with you!
this is a very sad and moving video. so sad ='( but thank you for what you do, as in some people don't want to do this job because of some stuff but your brave enough to handle it. THANK YOU!
i assume that you are a medic from your comments, and as i read i see no one has once told you thank you for what you do. my husband was killed four months ago by a woman going 70 in a 45(she was late for work). i was knocked out, but the first response workers took care of my two and three-year-old daughters who were in the car
i pray for the safety of those medics when i go to sleep at night.
the video of our car is on here if you use the key word cary walton, you will see the car.
"WISHES" BY SUPERCHICK & "FELL ON BAD DAYS" BY RUBYHORSE
next time read the damn video description before asking a question that has been asked only about a million times and answered just as many, the description is there for a reason so try reading!
Look mother fucker. Dont be an asshole. I simply asked. I tried to read your stupid description, it wont work. So dont fucking go there when I simply asked a question. Get a damn reality check before you bit my head off.
i wasnt being an asshole or biting your head off because you apparently dont have one since you cant even get the video description section of youtube to work. and the reality check part well i darling, i have my reality checks daily thanx to the shit that i get to see everyday, shit that you will never see in your life, so if anyone needs a reality check that would have to be you.
Hah. Apparently I have a head, cause you bit it off again. And I do know how to make it work. Ive had a youtube for a while. So thanx anyways, and if saw shit everyday, you should show a lil more respect toward people. My lil bro couldnt even figure out who sung that, and he tried the description. Thanx though.
Yeah, it works now. He fixed it after I said something. Cause when I first found this, it only showed half the information, not the songs. Thanx anyways, Im not an idiot, I know what i am talking about. So why not butt out, this wasnt between me and you.
well going code 3 (lights and sirens activated) our chances of being involved in a wreck just about double, dont remember the exact statistic but its something like that. so yeah even we sometimes need an ambulance to come and rescue us.
no i know in the ones that i ran or were from my area people died for sure, and the rest i'd say by looking at the amount of damage to the vehicles about a third of the wrecks were actually fatal. however most of them had the potentially to be fatal.
Critical, Med's angry (and rightly so)because they keep having to answer the same question over and over because people aren't bothering to read other posts.
med, forgive the caps, but....

EVERYONE! THE SONGS ARE "WISHES" BY SUPERCHICK & "FELL ON BAD DAYS" BY RUBYHORSE!
EVERYONE! THE SONGS ARE "WISHES" BY SUPERCHICK & "FELL ON BAD DAYS" BY RUBYHORSE!
After seeing this I get so angry with myself about each time I drove home after getting hammered at a party or club, it is so selfish cause the worst part of it all is that those who get killed are usually innocent. In the end I guess you will never learn if you dont experience it the hard way. Too bad that it always has to be like that
Every time i watch these vids. It reminds me of him died in 2001 from a drunk driver. I know how you feel i was in the car with him i broke my legs and some ribs. I was playing my psp when our car went sprawling into the median of the highway.
i've been in ems since 2002 & i do have to agree that some of the shit we have to see and deal with is heart wrecking. God blessed us with the strength and gift to do what we do. the hardest thing for me (and most ems'ers) is the kids. at anyrate, i like your videos. it's also a good outlet as far as venting what we hold inside.
get out of the business now if you're not scared of car wrecks you wont survive, fear creates a cautious man and a cautious man isnt stupid enough to take risks that will cost him his life without a doubt.
he probally hasnt but I have. Ive been a Firefighter since 2000 and have just become a police officer and I have seen people die and held their hands when they did. People dont know how fast your life can be taken from you. Everybody Please pay close attention to these pictures and think about your mother or child before you get behind the wheel imparied.
you know how i feel, really? have you ever had nightmares after you tried so hard to save that infant who's own father killed him by drinking and driving. have you ever had to hold a lifeless body? have you lost family to a drunk driver? if you answered no to any of the above than you have no idea how i feel.
dont feel sorry for me, i love my job more than anything i choose the field so that maybe i can somehow make a difference and i know that i have. just keep us, the first responders, in your prayers, we need them to get us through some days.
hey man i know how u feel i lost my dad to a drunk driver and i'm a vol. medic out here in a small town where the i=kids like to booze cruise and i have had to answer to calls of wrecks and they were kids i was my best friend who wrecked and got killed and the other was my girl friend and both are hard on me that was 2 yrs ago and i still can slepp or have night mares abotu the two ppl closest to me other than family
very touching vid about alchol and the effects.i lost my step dad to alchol last november 28/07.and u dont need a car to die from it,all he needed was a rope adna skylight
im A JUNIOR VOL.FIRE FIGHTER for station 75 trasnfer pa the reson i joined the fire dept. was becasue i have so mnay car wrecks out in frotn of my house a truck got fliper on its side guy was pinned
there was a crash by my house.a drunk hit the back of a car the passengers.(a mom and little girl about eight years old)the girl died instantly. the back seat of the car was separated from the front of the car.the drunk is in lifethreatining injuries.whats worse is that it was my sister's friend's cusin.
as far as i remember the driver and back seat passenger died while the front seat passenger survived, this was a case that i worked, i didn't take the pictures from it though i was too busy trying to save the victims.
ya taht happen just down the street from me , some ppl were drunk stole a car and smashed into a mom of 2 or 3 and a wife and she was killed she got hit so hard the van she was in rolled through a chainlink fence and 2 about 15 ft yards :(
Yea they certainly either didn't make it or suffered permanent injuries (mental or physical). I was involved in a wreck where I spent 21 days in ICU and finally came out of my coma. People don't realize, just like myself, how bad this stuff can be. THINK!
i didnt work most of these cases but from my experience, just by looking at the mechanism of the wreck, the amount of body protrusion into the car, and the amount of total damage to the vehicle i'd say about a third of the people involved in these wrecks either died or suffered permanent physical/mental disabilities.
man this vid really makes you think of all of the things that youve done and how lucky you are for getting away with it, im never doin anything stupid again!!
thanx, if that's actually a question for would have felt excruciating pain, others were made to think that they had a chance by the medics.
but i gotta tell you it's not a good feeling when you are the one that has to tell your patient that they're gonna be just fine when you know that's not that their chances of survival are minimal to non-existent.
i've seen some bad wrecks- but these are some the worse i've ever seen. last month a kia sportage got smushed between two semi trucks. the body got thrown out and they couldn't find one leg. it was so bad they couldn't even tell if it was a woman or man!
but im sorry to hear about all of those accidents. I was in one when i was 9 and got a concussion and broke my arm and leg. my mom cracked her sturnum soo i know how you feel. :)=
Medperson1 my heart goes out to you. There are portions of all of those accidents that never leave you. You really want to scare people into not driving and drinking, give them the pictures we first see when we get there. When you think the job is to much, keep remembering the ones you did save, and all the other 101 good things that come out of our job.
i know and i wish i could post pics of actual dead/mutilated bodies, the blood and gore, you know the whole 9 yards of our wonderful job but unfortunately cant cuz that would be a HIPAA violation.
what about the stupid soccer moms who try to change their kids diapers while driving talking on the phone n putting a sponge bob dvd in the dvd player!

i assume that you are a medic from your comments, and as i read i see no one has once told you thank you for what you do. my husband was killed four months ago by a woman going 70 in a 45(she was late for work). i was knocked out, but the first response workers took care of my two and three-year-old daughters who were in the car
i pray for the safety of those medics when i go to sleep at night.
the video of our car is on here if you use the key word cary walton, you will see the car.

who sings that song?
MissLaurenLove 3 years ago
"WISHES" BY SUPERCHICK & "FELL ON BAD DAYS" BY RUBYHORSE
next time read the damn video description before asking a question that has been asked only about a million times and answered just as many, the description is there for a reason so try reading!
medperson1 3 years ago
Look mother fucker. Dont be an asshole. I simply asked. I tried to read your stupid description, it wont work. So dont fucking go there when I simply asked a question. Get a damn reality check before you bit my head off.
peace.
MissLaurenLove 3 years ago
i wasnt being an asshole or biting your head off because you apparently dont have one since you cant even get the video description section of youtube to work. and the reality check part well i darling, i have my reality checks daily thanx to the shit that i get to see everyday, shit that you will never see in your life, so if anyone needs a reality check that would have to be you.
medperson1 3 years ago
MissLaurenLove 3 years ago
well then obviously both you and your brother are idiots cuz it worked just fine for me.
RAmedic1 3 years ago
Yeah, it works now. He fixed it after I said something. Cause when I first found this, it only showed half the information, not the songs. Thanx anyways, Im not an idiot, I know what i am talking about. So why not butt out, this wasnt between me and you.

boomheadshot1994 3 years ago
Hmm. It seems the Ambulance needs an Ambulance
Gamernotnerd 3 years ago 3
well going code 3 (lights and sirens activated) our chances of being involved in a wreck just about double, dont remember the exact statistic but its something like that. so yeah even we sometimes need an ambulance to come and rescue us.

in everyone of them wrecks atleast 1 person died
slammednissan 3 years ago
no i know in the ones that i ran or were from my area people died for sure, and the rest i'd say by looking at the amount of damage to the vehicles about a third of the wrecks were actually fatal. however most of them had the potentially to be fatal.
medperson1 3 years ago
I know what it's like - That's why if I'm asked "what?" or to repeat more than once, I tell the person to go hang themselves.
Now, the next person who asks what the songs are is going to get a 2X4 over the head. :))

Critical, Med's angry (and rightly so)because they keep having to answer the same question over and over because people aren't bothering to read other posts.

After seeing this I get so angry with myself about each time I drove home after getting hammered at a party or club, it is so selfish cause the worst part of it all is that those who get killed are usually innocent. In the end I guess you will never learn if you dont experience it the hard way. Too bad that it always has to be like that
lolzorrompelzoricon 3 years ago
it doesn't but i'm glad that you learned your lesson hopefully before you hurt anyone.

KittyCatRoxx 3 years ago
or just a good way to kill time when you have a complete shut-in. but at any rate i have to agree the kids are usually the hardest.
medperson1 3 years ago
im not scred of any car wrecks becasue i had 5 in front yard and im aslo in the fire dept. and im only a junior vol.fire fighter
buckeyes75 3 years ago
get out of the business now if you're not scared of car wrecks you wont survive, fear creates a cautious man and a cautious man isnt stupid enough to take risks that will cost him his life without a doubt.
medperson1 3 years ago
he probally hasnt but I have. Ive been a Firefighter since 2000 and have just become a police officer and I have seen people die and held their hands when they did. People dont know how fast your life can be taken from you. Everybody Please pay close attention to these pictures and think about your mother or child before you get behind the wheel imparied.

Yea they certainly either didn't make it or suffered permanent injuries (mental or physical). I was involved in a wreck where I spent 21 days in ICU and finally came out of my coma. People don't realize, just like myself, how bad this stuff can be. THINK!

I just started driving. So this freaked me a out a little bit.
But I know that my Father in Heaven is watching out for me.
demersblack 4 years ago
was anyone killed? i hope not
sonconmas 4 years ago
i didnt work most of these cases but from my experience, just by looking at the mechanism of the wreck, the amount of body protrusion into the car, and the amount of total damage to the vehicle i'd say about a third of the people involved in these wrecks either died or suffered permanent physical/mental disabilities.

How would it felt when they died:
navveed 4 years ago
thanx, if that's actually a question for would have felt excruciating pain, others were made to think that they had a chance by the medics.
but i gotta tell you it's not a good feeling when you are the one that has to tell your patient that they're gonna be just fine when you know that's not that their chances of survival are minimal to non-existent.

Medperson1 my heart goes out to you. There are portions of all of those accidents that never leave you. You really want to scare people into not driving and drinking, give them the pictures we first see when we get there. When you think the job is to much, keep remembering the ones you did save, and all the other 101 good things that come out of our job.
Luck to you...

i'll bet a weeks salary that most of these wrecks were:
1)drunken redneck pickup truck drivers from west virginia
2)street racers
3)cell phoning while driving
4)crack piping while driving
5)over worked tractor trailer drivers
6)teenage dirtbags
shit like this doesnt just happen!
