That mall can wash down the river for all i care. they replaced my favorite theme park with that stupid thing. i miss opryland. i wouldnt miss the mall one little bit!!
i miss the opry mills mall expecially applebarn!!it was the best!!i hear rumors that there turning the oprymills mall to like a amusment park!thats what i heard but anyways!LIKE IF U MISS APPLEBARN!!:(
@aleah600 < Actually Opryland USA, a very kick ass amusement park was torn down to build that stupid mall. Nashville has enough stupid malls but only ONE rollercoaster park and they tore it down.
My wife and I worked at The Aquarium inside the mall. I lived right down the road. That was a over priced tourist trap anyway!! Glad it's gone. Bring back the amusement park.
@STFUsamGTFO yeah, Maybe a mix, kinda like the mall of america that has a amusment park inside it, that might work, I cant stand corporate america, malls, and the whole system, butt there going to built something there, I just hope it isnt a huge crappy mall again, Nashville has a few things to do, but overall, I'd visit a lot of places before I went to Nashville. Why do people always take vacations to cities? I am learning ,I'm 26, that cities are not vacations, there hell!
I love on the other side of the river by Cornelia Fort airport. You can see Opry Mills and the pedestiran bride from the house. We actually got on channel 4 news cus we were outside when it flew over us! :D
Does it "blow"? You want to know what else "blows"? I had to throw away almost everything that was on the first level of my home except my laptop, a printer, some DVDs and my Nintendo Wii. I lost photo albums, furniture, my floor........and a guy that lived in our neighborhood has been missing since the flood and is most certainly dead.
@missmissy22556 Jesus Christ, no need to get all defensive now. I lost stuff in the flood too, my car was messed up from all the water, plus my best friend's house is wrecked. And I was just talking about the mall, not everyone in the community.
@MrLegal247 u don't even care that that stuff's been there forever or that some of those poor people's homes got flooded! some people lost their lives and all u care about is the electronic shit and that stuff can be replaced!! ur the one that's fucked!!!
Ill guaratee the saltwater fish immediately went into shock and died within 30 mins to an hour. And Bass that were strong enough to resist the strong currents and not get smashed or crushed to death by who knows what......went into shock because of the massive temperature/toxic sewage change to their enviroment.
All the fish are dead......the mall should have never opened, it was a product of GREED.
@missmissy22556 - No most of the fish were saved and now live in Tampa Florida. Yes, in Tennessee we have Marine Biologist too and they removed the fish when the mall and hotel was being evacuated. There were several sting rays and a few others that were lost in the flood.
Im sorry, did I ever say TN didn't have marine biologists? However, MANY people couldn't even leave their driveways that day, so Im surprised a bunch of marine biologists managed to make it all the way to Opry Mills, which was totally flooded and impassable for five days at least....and save a bunch of fish. But then again, that would be great if you're telling the truth!
@missmissy22556 - well it isn't in my nature to lie, but thanks for caring about the fish. It was very sad that it happened. Yes, most of the fish were saved and moved to Tampa. I was told this by the people who were in charge of the evacuations of the Mall. Nashville is a pretty small town especially if you have lived there all of your life. You tend to meet people over a period of years. LOL!
I can tell you its gonna be at least a year before they get reopened. Everything from the floor to 4 feet above is having to be torn out and replaced.
a good friend of mine is a manager at the American Eagle in there... She gets some time off, but I feel sorry for the mess she is gonna have to go back to when she goes back to work
Wait, is that the Opry Mills Mall under water??? If it is, I was just there 4 days before this happened. I guess it's all my fault. Disaster follows me everywhere I go.
Actually all the fish from the aquarium died except for a few piranhas which where swimming around the day before yesterday.. Atleast thats what my mom heard, she is the manager at the Motherhood maternity store inside the mall..
mikeessk: Oooh no. That's sooo sad. All the stingrays and sharks are all dead??? What about the fish at Bass Pro? I was there just 4 days before the flood. They have the HUGEST bass I've ever seen! He got real sick and they were treating him. I felt really bad for him cuz he was all cut up from the people who were trying to give him a shot for an infection he had. Man, this is bad. Just before the summer crowd was winding up. It's gonna hurt Nashville really bad.
This is so sad but if anyone remembers in the late 70's Opryland theme park flooded also. So this is one of the downfalls to being right on the river.
@nickwilliams19 They all died, the sharks, Gibson , the white tip reef sharks, the sting ray, the two Eels , The spotter tang, the fish and all died inside the tank, The 200,000 gallon tank did not break or overflow, they just died from the biologist not being able to adjust there water , so the salt deluded and they stopped breathing. I worked there for a long time, I was close to all of the fish, It was a sad moment when I heard they all perished.
@tseay29 We miss Opryland too but that's really not funny. Show some respect for the thousands of people who have no job now, and for the people who lived behind the mall who now have no home or car.
@randyds5 So am I. I worked at Macaroni Grill. Our general manager has been trying to get us the info for collecting unemployment, getting our vacation money checks etc. but we really don't know what's going on. Just keep in touch with your managers and see if you can transfer anywhere, or if u can just get another job. That's the best thing to do right now. Apply for FEMA. request your boss to fire you so you can collect unemployment.
@kthxapalooza man this sucks. I really didnt mind working there. It wasnt a bad job at all. I hope they can get it fixed soon. After they do repair it, im sure hours will be cut. FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This sucks ass. Have you any ideas about decent jobs in the area?
@tseay29 Get a fucking heart bitch, people lost their lives in this shit and you are making fun of them??? Shut the fuck up and realize that the world doesn't revolve around your sorry, pathetic ass.
