  • my dad use to work at the opryland amusement park. He drove a trolley when he was 14 and he didn't have a license.. Oh how the times have changed.

  • I wish the hotel and the mall had both been demolished. Though I do feel bad for the minimum wage workers that were out of jobs.

  • man, the flood was a total bitch! pass it on!

  • i loved the amusement park and theres too many damn malls it was a great park!!!!!!!

  • NOOOOO NOT THE IMAX!!!!

  • i heard all the fish swam out of the topless tank, i lived in clarksvill while that flood happened, but we moved to florida

  • That mall can wash down the river for all i care. they replaced my favorite theme park with that stupid thing. i miss opryland. i wouldnt miss the mall one little bit!!

  • i miss the opry mills mall expecially applebarn!!it was the best!!i hear rumors that there turning the oprymills mall to like a amusment park!thats what i heard but anyways!LIKE IF U MISS APPLEBARN!!:(

  • @aleah600 < Actually Opryland USA, a very kick ass amusement park was torn down to build that stupid mall. Nashville has enough stupid malls but only ONE rollercoaster park and they tore it down.

  • My wife and I worked at The Aquarium inside the mall. I lived right down the road. That was a over priced tourist trap anyway!! Glad it's gone. Bring back the amusement park.

  • @ineedaname777777 You do realize that an Amusement Park is also an over priced tourist trap...

  • @STFUsamGTFO yeah, Maybe a mix, kinda like the mall of america that has a amusment park inside it, that might work, I cant stand corporate america, malls, and the whole system, butt there going to built something there, I just hope it isnt a huge crappy mall again, Nashville has a few things to do, but overall, I'd visit a lot of places before I went to Nashville. Why do people always take vacations to cities? I am learning ,I'm 26, that cities are not vacations, there hell!

  • man i remember this i lived close to the mall.... it was a tragic day i think noone got kill rite i hope not

  • i wish opry mills would have floated away and opry land floated back into place

  • I love on the other side of the river by Cornelia Fort airport. You can see Opry Mills and the pedestiran bride from the house. We actually got on channel 4 news cus we were outside when it flew over us! :D

  • poor opry mills...i'm so sad...there's like no where to shop now (mall wise) that was by far the best one....*sniff sniff*

  • Hey, Gaylord Enterprises - Karma is a bitch, ain't it? Shoulda let Opryland Amusement Park stand in the first place!

  • Jeez, this blows. I guess I won't be seeing Toy Story 3 in 3D.

  • @mewsisi

Does it "blow"? You want to know what else "blows"? I had to throw away almost everything that was on the first level of my home except my laptop, a printer, some DVDs and my Nintendo Wii. I lost photo albums, furniture, my floor........and a guy that lived in our neighborhood has been missing since the flood and is most certainly dead.

  • @missmissy22556 Jesus Christ, no need to get all defensive now. I lost stuff in the flood too, my car was messed up from all the water, plus my best friend's house is wrecked. And I was just talking about the mall, not everyone in the community.

  • that's so sad! :(

  • Damn, that sucks....All thoese damn computers and Tv's and all the Shit in there is fucked...

  • @MrLegal247 u don't even care that that stuff's been there forever or that some of those poor people's homes got flooded! some people lost their lives and all u care about is the electronic shit and that stuff can be replaced!! ur the one that's fucked!!!

  • Someone told me that the Opry Mills Mall may need to be torn down and rebuilt because the damage was so extensive. Is this true?

  • @rodney2652 No they are just rebuilding it as it stands, they arent tearing it down.

  • dude that mall had a rainforest cafe in it.

at least we know the fish are alive lol

  • @jtwith all the fish that are in a rainforest cafe are saltwater fish.

so.. they all died, just like the number of people that died as well.

  • @collegearch14 i kno it's so sad! and i remember going to the rainforest cafe when i was just a little kid!

  • @jtwith that's not funny!

  • @disneyfreak740 i wasn't trying to be funny......

  • Imagine this a guy there probably got hired the day before the flooding is out of a job again... suckage.

  • Ill guaratee the saltwater fish immediately went into shock and died within 30 mins to an hour. And Bass that were strong enough to resist the strong currents and not get smashed or crushed to death by who knows what......went into shock because of the massive temperature/toxic sewage change to their enviroment.

All the fish are dead......the mall should have never opened, it was a product of GREED.

  • @missmissy22556 - No most of the fish were saved and now live in Tampa Florida. Yes, in Tennessee we have Marine Biologist too and they removed the fish when the mall and hotel was being evacuated. There were several sting rays and a few others that were lost in the flood.

  • @mans6363

Im sorry, did I ever say TN didn't have marine biologists? However, MANY people couldn't even leave their driveways that day, so Im surprised a bunch of marine biologists managed to make it all the way to Opry Mills, which was totally flooded and impassable for five days at least....and save a bunch of fish. But then again, that would be great if you're telling the truth!

  • @missmissy22556 - well it isn't in my nature to lie, but thanks for caring about the fish. It was very sad that it happened. Yes, most of the fish were saved and moved to Tampa. I was told this by the people who were in charge of the evacuations of the Mall. Nashville is a pretty small town especially if you have lived there all of your life. You tend to meet people over a period of years. LOL!

  • drummer - jewelry store ower/manager is telling everyone it will take his group 6 months - that's all I've heard

heard that Opryland Hotel is going to start taking reservations again in 2 weeks, and planning on reopening in October

other venues have not given dates

  • @teachrmomward opryland is going to take longer than that. and opry mills isn't going to open until december at the earliest.

  • Estimate of 4-6 months before Opry Mills will re-open. Even longer for the hotel and other venues.

  • @teachrmomward

I can tell you its gonna be at least a year before they get reopened. Everything from the floor to 4 feet above is having to be torn out and replaced.

  • NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

    Not the hotel!

    not the gibson showcase!

    WHY?!?!?!?!?

  • @Bella24745 moment of silence. (taps starts to play)

  • a good friend of mine is a manager at the American Eagle in there... She gets some time off, but I feel sorry for the mess she is gonna have to go back to when she goes back to work

  • Wait, is that the Opry Mills Mall under water??? If it is, I was just there 4 days before this happened. I guess it's all my fault. Disaster follows me everywhere I go.

  • its obama's katrina!

quick get talor swift on a telethon and make her say "obama hates white people"

  • @sujet Coincidentally, Nashville had their telethon tonight and Taylor Swift apparently donated $500,000!

  • @kthxapalooza good for her sorry, pathetic self. >_>

  • @sujet No one in Nashville thinks that or is saying that. Were all a little more civilized and educated that that......

  • @missmissy22556 Yea,i know, i've been there, i was just making jokes.

  • Dave & Busters is gonna have one helluva insurance payout with all those arcade games being destroyed.

  • i was literally there the day the water began to raise. Geez thats crazy that i live so close to this. oh i heard the stingrays are fine :)

  • I heard there are at least 2 piranhas that got loose and are now swimming around the mall

  • n0rice4me: OMG, and there's the aquarium with sharks in it! So they might have gotten loose and are swimming in the river now! Hahaha.

  • @FireThunderTV

Actually all the fish from the aquarium died except for a few piranhas which where swimming around the day before yesterday.. Atleast thats what my mom heard, she is the manager at the Motherhood maternity store inside the mall..

  • mikeessk: Oooh no. That's sooo sad. All the stingrays and sharks are all dead??? What about the fish at Bass Pro? I was there just 4 days before the flood. They have the HUGEST bass I've ever seen! He got real sick and they were treating him. I felt really bad for him cuz he was all cut up from the people who were trying to give him a shot for an infection he had. Man, this is bad. Just before the summer crowd was winding up. It's gonna hurt Nashville really bad.

  • I wounder what happend to the Rain Forest Cafe's fish.....

  • @TaltosGirl lets just say Nashville's rivers will have some new types of fish introduced to its ecosystem

  • @IncredibleStan lol True

  • why does god hate tennessee?

  • I had a job interview here Monday. Ugh. But this is awful for everyone that works here. :(.

  • @HypnoticSquirrel i work at the nike store in opry mills. I think im unemployed now. It sucks

  • no more gap outlet? FUCK MAN.... FUCK THIS SHIT

  • forever 21!!! D: ahh

  • Ironman 2...IMAX.......:(

  • @loopyoyo plans = ruined

  • I love this mall, I went there last summer, hard to believe its flooded.

  • This is so sad but if anyone remembers in the late 70's Opryland theme park flooded also. So this is one of the downfalls to being right on the river.

  • Wonder if the stingrays are trying to make a break for the ocean.

  • @nickwilliams19 HAHAHA

  • @nickwilliams19 They all died, the sharks, Gibson , the white tip reef sharks, the sting ray, the two Eels , The spotter tang, the fish and all died inside the tank, The 200,000 gallon tank did not break or overflow, they just died from the biologist not being able to adjust there water , so the salt deluded and they stopped breathing. I worked there for a long time, I was close to all of the fish, It was a sad moment when I heard they all perished.

  • @ineedaname777777 I was hoping they made it somehow. I never heard any news on that and always wondered. Sorry for your loss.

  • @ineedaname777777

The fish all survived. They were moved to the TN Aquarium in Chattanooga. There's a video of Gibson on Youtube.

  • @nickwilliams19 they all died from the pressure

  • god DAMM it. the arcade (forgot what it was called) is now flooded.

my most favorit place in the whole mall, flooeded. >:( ( I hop it's not flooded that badly)

  • That is horrable I was going to spend most of the day with a friend in a couple of weeks but that will have to wait for a long time.

  • Think about what you say, since tseay29 is so ready for the mall to flood, I soo glad you want me to be out of work even longer!

  • Comment removed

  • @tseay29 people used to make their living at that mall.

  • @tseay29 We miss Opryland too but that's really not funny. Show some respect for the thousands of people who have no job now, and for the people who lived behind the mall who now have no home or car.

  • @kthxapalooza im one of those people. I worked in Nike, and I have a newly wed wife and a house payment! now what!!!????

  • @randyds5 So am I. I worked at Macaroni Grill. Our general manager has been trying to get us the info for collecting unemployment, getting our vacation money checks etc. but we really don't know what's going on. Just keep in touch with your managers and see if you can transfer anywhere, or if u can just get another job. That's the best thing to do right now. Apply for FEMA. request your boss to fire you so you can collect unemployment.

  • @kthxapalooza man this sucks. I really didnt mind working there. It wasnt a bad job at all. I hope they can get it fixed soon. After they do repair it, im sure hours will be cut. FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This sucks ass. Have you any ideas about decent jobs in the area?

  • @randyds5 Well the Waffle House on McGavock is hiring 1st shift =)

  • @tseay29 Get a fucking heart bitch, people lost their lives in this shit and you are making fun of them??? Shut the fuck up and realize that the world doesn't revolve around your sorry, pathetic ass.

  • @FartingRox2009 Exactly.

  • @FartingRox2009

It's nothing to get worked up about, besides everything worked out.

  • you people need to calm down a bit.

  • They shouldn't have torn down Opryland to build a mall. Stupid Gaylord Inc.
