Awe. That's the cutest bear I've ever seen. But how are they in the same space? They live on different continents. It would be interesting if the Tiger was attacking because it saw the Bear as competition for the same food sources (meat), and if the bear started eating to show it that it is an omnivore. Ya if you really think about it Bears and Big Cats live alongside each other in allot of places and environments. If one was a better hunter or stronger they would have killed off the other seeing as how they compete foe the same resources. The fact that they both occupy the same lands, hunt the same things and are both apex predators means that they must be pretty evenly matched. Also the bears have a slight edge because they can eat more than just meat

I think a full sized Tiger, like the ones in India may mess up a grizzley pretty good, I mean sure the grizz is big but the tiger at 7 + feet is no slouch either and they got the speed, reflexes and skills to out move a bear.. but then again, a bear has some awesome power and weight.. it would be a real clash of the titans. The bear would prolly be the winner in the end but would definetely have to recouperate for a few.

@matt47forTED You don't get to ~3% of the intake off cubs and even if they did that would suggest a lot of mother bears just watching as their cubs get swiped. Predation and hunting isn't about the fair fight, lions hunt water buffalo but most if not all will avoid the males, they target the smaller ones because that's how predation works it's never about targeting the hardest target because they're not trying to prove something, they're trying to eat.

Predation isn't a series of boxing matches, it's about setting up situations that are unfair in your favor. 2. Your wish is kinda sick and still would only prove who's best in an arena which only brings to bear a fraction of the tools a predator uses to kill and defeat it's prey.

@AmurTiger both are predators, i still dont believe that tigers are ever hunting full grown male grizzles, young ones yes, but not adult males, big cats dont hunt like that, no predators really hunt like that. im assuming for the most part in the wild when a tiger sees a bear coming it doesnt attack it because it weighs the pros vs cons and decides it will attack something that doesnt have an extremely good chance of killing it. my wish is not sick, i bet many many others would watch.

@matt47forTED It doesn't happen often obviously but it's enough to make brown bears around 3% of the diet of Siberian Tigers, black bears are around 5%. As with all predation there will be efforts to avoid big males that involve more risk then reward but it's important to recognize that this remains a predatory relationship between the two species. As to your wish I'm sure others do wish to see animals fight and kill each other for their amusement, they're sick right along with you.

Most people who are true expert will tell you Bengal tigers are the second largest big cat in the world and they weight in the ball park of 550 to sometimes up to 600 lbs and that an asian bear can be prey to a bengal tiger. So it is not unrealistic that a tiger could take on a bear like that and kill it. all this talk of tiger vs bear. Bears aren't by nature fighters. Their diet consists largely of small rodents, grubs, foraging and fish. Lions hunt and kill prey several times their size, they are much more powerful and deadly then any bear and would anihilate it in a fight.
