@SeigSel Try to think rationally here. My advice to you is to actually read the Icelandic Sagas, they are the closest we come to any documentation about our forefathers. Also, wtf do runes have anything to do with this? But as a matter of fact, yes I do now how to read and write runes. I have studied them quite a lot actually. I actively write my notes in class using Fuþark, mostly Elder Fuþark letters, but since they don't have all the characters I borrow from the Younger and sometimes...

Look I'll first point out the things that I do agree with you. Yes I agree that it does suck that the christianization COMPLETELY destroyed our culture, but that was many, many hundreds of years ago and we really can't keep a grudge against the people today for what their ancestors did. We were under the Danish king for 400 hundred years, so we were very influenced by the Danish language since the official language of the time were Danish. Later we were in a union with Sweden for 100 years and was thus influenced.

You may have noticed that I didn't include the "halls" part in the second last line. It is because Valhöll is the combination of the two Norse words:
"Val(ur) = A person that has died in battle" (Not to be confused with Einherji, which is what a Valur shall become when he comes to Valhöll.)
and "Höll" which means Castle in Icelandic/Norse and with time changed to what "Hall" means today.
In modern Icelandic it wouldn't make sense to add anything into the line.

Also, wtf do runes have anything to do with this? But as a matter of fact, yes I do now how to read and write runes. I have studied them quite a lot actually. I actively write my notes in class using Fuþark, mostly Elder Fuþark letters, but since they don't have all the characters I borrow from the Younger and sometimes...

Look I'll first point out the things that I do agree with you. Technology and great living conditions we donðt really need it anymore. We were under the Danish king for 400 hundred years, so we were very influenced by the Danish language since the official language of the time were Danish. Later we were in a union with Sweden for 100 years and was thus influenced.
