Ryan Adams and the Cardinals, the very summit of country-rock. Neither "Nashville Skyline" Dylan, "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" Byrds, nor anyone else holds a candle to these guys.
completely awe inspiring :) ryan has been a favorite of mine since rock n roll and i have since bought every one of his albums he has released...even the ol' whiskeytown days! PLEASE swing by my channel and give your ears a moment to listen to my cover of his beautifully arranged tune "call me on your way back home" i would love to hear from you ~ peace
Everything he does is damn good. There are real music gems on all his albums. Saw him live once however and he was very poor. Only for he is such a genius I wouldnt have forgiven him
Ryan should put out some live discs. Cardinology was a huge disappointment to me, but every clip I see of him doing those songs live are sooooo much better than the album!
@1bmarsh my generation was blinded by bullshit and the destorted fat rap music that is just im a pimp this i have chains and rims and a nice that....... people like ryan fell in the cracks of that shit ... luckily i got underground sooner than most when i was high school so i got saved hahaah and ryan adams was one of those musical saviors
regarding the genius switch, I beg to differ. see phil specter, francis crick and many others. but ryan's switch continues to be in the on position. and his t-shirts are awesome too.
Neal Casal has such a pure voice. These guys together , it doesn't get much better. Ryan's amp is a little silly . . . but those shoes rule. They was made for peddlin'.

that was 100 pounds of drugs ago it's the wana be rock star thing to do, then you write about it for the money to do more drugs. It's the seedy life that brings the characters in these rock stars lives to life into thier music. Maybe used to eat fast food and now he's a vegan juicefasting monk, but if you by nerdy glasses and try to sound like the cure, or rip off bob dylan you are called a genius who knows. If he was 60 pounds heavier would't he be the lead singer of fall out boy anyways?
Stick with the new album, it gets better every time you play it. The new songs were actually the best ones at last night's London gig - which I didn't expect at all. The album's also a lot better when you play it on decent speakers and crank it up...
I totally agree. I didn't like it that much at first, but then I thought, "Wow for not liking it, I sure listen to it a lot". It's a definite grower - it's great.
This is actually the first time a new album has come out since I've been a fan, and it's hard to adjust from old to new when you are hardly aquainted with Easy Tiger and such to begin with.
At least Jeff Tweedy could go sober and still entertain us. Ryan will be back...it just seems like some chick told him to be "good" for a while. YO RYAN - THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE REALLY F'N FUN! The Andy Kaufman of Rock-n-Roll has turned into Ned Flanders. Rock on Ned.
Like, what's your problem? like you just have to like have to come after me. Fuck you, like, fuck you you asshole. You obviously have a problem with me. You don't belong anymore, and your probably old and should just like retire.
assholes you can only write a album like heartbreaker once ryan has more balls than dylan ryan has more heart than all the bullshit in the charts so fuck off wanna be fans >>>>>>>>>>>>>

no way. Heartbreaker and Whiskeytown were inspired by Dylan. This is Adams trying to venture into a more popular genre of music which he sucks at. I don't hate Ryan Adams, I just wish that he would go back.
This music really has to grow on me before it's meaningful. I can't believe that I said that just a day ago. And I'm not even just trying to be a bitch for everyone else. Listening to exactly the same song 24 hours later is entirely different.
yeah, but cobwebs are not just spiderwebs -- they are old, discarded ones which are dirty and cluttering. so, i think perhaps ryan is making an analogy to worthless, unrequited love. brilliant song. great, moody lyrics
I'm 40, and when he first started getting noticed I couldn't take him to seriously just cause he was so damn young. But he's maturing and really is the real deal. He has some great tunes!
I kind of take it to mean will you confuse love with something worthless or which seems to have no meaning, that can be easily discarded. Personal opinion.
