@mylesp Dude! So fucking true, and I've realized this myself! I have an M-audio mobile-pre which muddies the frequencies, they are both good interfaces...for lower quality mics, but with a mic like the 4040 it goes to shit. I'm working on getting a Focusrite ISA- One microphone preamp, and a Focusrite saffire 6 usb interface to run it through. It's going to run me about 700+ dollars but I'm GOING to get them. I can't stand shitty quality.

@bumpyheadman dude dont buy that pre amp. i was told that all the focusrite interfaces use the same preamps and the preamps are high quality already. im getting the saffire pro scarlet 18i6 USB. i like this one because it has a bunch of inserts and i need them. if i dont get a focusrite interface im going to get something really high end for like $1,000
