This might be a dumb question, but can this amp act as a midi guitar controller? As in, can I play guitar through this amp and record MIDI data into my computeR??
A bit "muffled" in tone.. but it must be an EQ preference thing
I must admit that the amp sounds "very good" the two 12AX7 make a world of difference than just modeling BS...
I bought a Gdec 30 and enjoyed the amps tone for practice this new amp looks interesting. I will research it further and could possible pick one up for the club gigs we do when I dont want to drag a ton of gear with me...
what the hell youtube is gay now theyre bleeping out cuss words.i cant call people fucking stupid for saying retarded shit?why the fuck would they do that, its not tv,express some of your god damn rights, freedom of speech my ass.this country is so worried about offending over protective soccermoms its fucking pathetic.we giotta have explicit labels on cds, bleep out "bad" words, now this.who the hell decided certain words were "bad" to say, thats bullshit.Fuck you youtube.
You're saying the words with the intention of using them in a negative context... so actually, you decided they're "bad words".. I agree that there shouldn't need to be censorship.. but how about a little bit of civilized conversation. Take it down a notch.. the world isn't out to get you.
I agree with the line 6 thing, they have alot of distortion, but they sound like ass.but I disagree, shred is not crappy, most blues traditionalists dont like shred, and vise versa, and I think thats very small minded, yngwie malmsteen, and stevie ray vaughan are both some of the best guitarists ever, but in their own genre, you can just automatically say one style of music is stupid or mindless.shred takes 10X more skill than blues, but blues has 10x more feel you just gotta learn to balance that out.
i dunno, i had a line 6 spider II ...at first i only bought it for the massive gain, and it was a real pain to get any other channel to sound descent, but once you figure it out they can sound really great. ...its figuring them out thats a pain.
That's so true. You have to find what works best with your guitar and other gear, but once you do, there are some very good tones available. The "crunch" channel has a really nice, warm medium gain sound w/ my Strat.
Neither of these are a replacement for a good tube amp, but you can get by with them. If you are REALLY satisfied, though, is the question......
tube amps are (in a way) overrated IMO. solid state are just as good, and more user friendly to boot. not to mention they have much more gain on tap for metal players, some of them do anyway. Dimebag for example used solid state amps and got terrific sounds, tones, and noises from them lol ...honestly...trust your ears...thats the bottom line. i dont like tubes because you have to crank them to get any distortion, as compared with solid state that is
The Cyber-Twin is really impressive at the store and in demos, but I found over time that the tones just weren't satisfying. I would definitely recommend Line 6 products over this if you need a digital amp.
line 6 are nasty aweful amps. Line 6 is just for people who want to do mindless scales and shredding and crap. most people aren't into that.... this amp ROCKS!!!
all of u are complaining about the money, but u have to understand, u flick the switch and it sounds like a marshall wall in a stadium. then u hit it again and it sounds all clean and awesome..... it's a brilliant amp!
Yeah, I'm sure the huge number of pro artists using Line 6 products would agree with you about that. Want names? Here you go...just some of the biggest endorsees. There are countless others who use them on recordings.- The Edge Adrian Belew Metallica Tears For Fears Steve Howe Mars Volta Sarah McLaughlin Tony Iommi Trent Reznor Muse Todd Rundgren Peter Anderson Jerry Donahue Radiohead Bob Ezrin (producer)
Greg Koch is the biggest "endorser" and even HE doesn't actually use the damn thing anymore. He uses the actual real tube Fenders. Hmmm....how about that.
The only thing you've proven is you have a tin ear.
And I'm a huge Fender fan, so it's not like I'm biased.
The Cyber-Twin is fun, and there ARE some decent tones in there, but it is all a compromise. I personally did not have great luck with mine, and I think it's a bit gimmicky.
Awesome, would it be possible for you to make a demo video of your amp? I for one would find it incredibly useful it would be greatly appreciated if you could find the time to do so :-)

Hmmm. I wrote the software for the effects, including the Tape Delay and Spring Reverb, so I always love when folks enjoy these. :)

So, your standards are higher than Dweezil Zappa, Neal Schon, and Steve Winwood's, who have all used a Cyber-Twin on stage in the past?
